your skills are very suitable for Koto (Japanese stringed instrument), please compose something if you ever get your hands on one.

Your technique of playing the oud is Aw
awesome. But there are flaws in your
oud not in your playing, the flaw is that your oud has frets whereas in the original one there are no frets and it is played with a risha not with a guitar plectrum.
Other than that there is no complain.
Also you are the greatest of mandolinists

Just want to make a small correction. Those are fret markers and not actually frets which lot of session artists tend to have in India for their ouds. This is mainly to ensure that a microtonal instrument like oud is made easier to play on recording sessions where the oud tends to sit along with arrangements with non microtonal instruments and synthesizes which stick to the standard 12 note system. Also these markers are mostly added by Luthiers and don't come with the oud.
Since they are fret markings and not frets you can notice him pressing on top of the markers. You can still play the microtonal stuff on this.
While the risha part is true, there are some notable oud players who use a plectrum for a tonal variation and convenience.
Tapas sir is possibly the best multi Instrumentalist in India and to adapt to so many instruments, there will be such small modifications that need to be made for convenience.

I can play Oud with Risha too… it has fret marks on the fret board which is done by Luthier him self.. easy for session music same feel I can express same like fretless Oud
