So Paul writes a song for ANOTHER group, and it becomes a mega-hit. Even when Badfinger performed it, the Beatle DNA was unmistakable. Just like "A World without Love" (Peter and Gordon).
I remember listening to this song on the radio (the original as sung by Badfinger) when I was about 4 years old. I loved it! And was not a bit surprised to find out later that The Beatles wrote it, being a huge fan. To hear it sung by Paul and the gang here makes me smile. 😊
It's strange how the best known and best paid actor in the world seems to be on the outside of the clique of musicians chatting to each other with an almost 'can I join you please' expression on his face.
God, what a great video!!! So many greats in one room!!! I can remember when Bob Ezrin had longer thicker hair than Alice!!! And the song “Come and Get It” which Paul gave the group Badfinger to record when they were starting out on the Apple label which became a big hit in the 70s. So many great memories. Thank for the video upload.
I wouldn't know where to start if Sir Paul was standing in front of me wanting to have a conversation. I'd have so many questions, but wouldn't want to fanboy him to death. I'd probably keep it simple and let him lead the exchange. lol
Later in his life, over breakfast, George would ask his family at the breakfast table: "What can we do today to make our lives better?" he meant it in a collective sense its not just a question, its a way of life
Yes, the song was made famous by Badfinger, but it's a McCartney composition that could have been a Beatles song on Abbey Road. Story goes that Paul brought it to the studio for consideration, but John didn't like it and nixed the idea. Badfinger needed some songs and Paul was supportive of them, so he suggested they record it. The rest is history.
@@SR11266 Paul’s demo is from 1969 when his voice was pristine. I like Badfinger and their version (which McCartney taught them) , but Paul’s voice was always suited better for the song (as he wrote it).
Well, I was saying earlier it was just as well he gave it to Badfinger because it didn't seem like the kinda song he'd do. I stand corrected especially with this version
@@dabreu Yes, it was Alice Cooper. You should have trusted your first thought. A.C. is the lead singer for the Vampires, and he has talked about how much it meant to him to share vocals with McCartney on this track
It is now part of the Beatles catalogue (it’s basically a finished song as George Martin Produced it for Anthology) as Come and get it can not only be found on The Beatles Anthology 3 (1996), but also on the Abbey Road 50th anniversary box set (2019). Yes, The Beatles didn’t release the song at the time and only McCartney is on it (Yesterday, Blackbird, etc), but it’s now part of The Beatles catalogue regardless and McCartney wrote the song. It’s amazing that one of Badfingers biggest hits they didn’t even write. That’s how talented The Beatles were as a band and they also had plenty of hits they didn’t write like Twist and shout. That being said I love the band Badfinger, just always felt their voices were off for the song…
the song is Paul mocking Apple Corps for giving money away to anyone and everyone who asked for it, literally Apple records was going broke and Paul was livid
I'm assuming this isn't the actual music video for the song. At least I would hope it wasn't. Just badly shot footage of them all mostly standing around. 🤣
JD and PM Both Gemini's musical smart and I suspect introverts just circle each other. Just amazing. The two ppl with the most to talk about circle each other. But introverts are like that. They never assume anyone wants to talk to them. THEY could be the LORD himself and never assume that. Just don't go calling yourself more popular that Jesus. John Lennon did that and see what trouble it caused. I understood him tho. IT was not disrespect to the LORD. JUST something that seemed to be happening and not his fault. HE was not claiming it was all him. HE just was amazed by their popularity. Contrary to popular opinion genius does have a lot of humility. IT is all that praise that ppl heap on then that causes them trouble. THEY are not born that way.
'A bunch of old men playing guitar' yeah some of the coolest old men in history, doesnt know what she's talking about, no taste. Also Johnny must be the youngest there by at least 15 years 😆
It's actually about The Beatles company "Apple". Paul wrote and recorded the song in 1969 when Apple was losing lots of money. Basically telling anyone to get the money while it's going. *FUN FACT* : John Lennon sat and watched the session back in '69.
@@HangingWithNathan In fact he wrote this song for a movie with Petter Sellers and Ringo if I remember. It is not related to drugs and not related to Apple. It was about the story of the movie. Magic Christian? it is indeed about money, but that is the theme of the movie. It was recorded by Badfinger, not by Paul. It is on the soundtrack.
I love the two Hollywood Vampires CD’s. I’m 68 and can’t stop listening to them. Haven’t been this turned on with a band in many years.
I got turned on to them about 6 months ago can not stop listening to them. Awesome
Oh my God!Living legends
absolutely legends... Johnny is a baby, but is a legend too.... #JusticeforJohnnyDepp
I know he is, but it's funny to think about it that way....
Johnny loves these rockers who came before him....and rightfully so.

I like the video where JD hears the finished recording, bends forward, and reaches out, touching someone's arm because he is blown away…
Holy crap. Bob Ezrin, McCartney, Cooper, Perry and Depp IN ONE ROOM.
and Johnny Depp rolling a joint? didnt anyone tell him Pauls not into it anymore... for decades?!
yeah that's how it was back in the Hollywood Vampire drinking days minus Depp though
