I don't care about social media and don't use any of the social media apps that are available. In fact, I only have a Facebook account because I needed to have one to set up my Oculus II. But it is ridiculous to say that social media apps have "blood on their hands" because of some people somewhere who used the platform to do illegal and/or harmful things. If I use a Glock handgun to rob a 7-11, should the company that produced the gun be held, at least partially, responsible? What about Kia, the car maker? After all, I used my Kia to get to the 7-11 in order to rob it. And what about the brand that made my jacket, which I used to conceal the handgun with which I robbed the store? They should be held liable also, right? It's better to stay focused on bringing to justice those who are doing/have done something harmful/illegal than to focus on the social media app where the thing was done, seemingly, just to bring a little relief to the victim's family.
