  • How do I get good audio mid-flight? How do you stick a gopro on the wing? What cameras are you using? What is the meaning of life? How do you pull off your rugged handsomeness? These are all questions I receive often, and hope to answer most of them here. These are the 4 camera angles I use for my youtube videos, and all of the parts I have to get those angles. Hopefully this helps others trying to capture their adventures. Followed by ‪@flyinbryanfpv‬ for an exclusive rare 5th camera angle: The freestyle stunt drone!

    I like your style of honest presentation in all of your videos! You definitely stand out! Is video/audio recorded separately on each camera on individual memory cards? How do you sync everything? Is each camera perhaps referenced to GPS time? Or does each accessory camera stream to a master recorder in your helmet camera? If you temporarily turn off an accessory camera and then turn it back on, will it automatically come back in sync with your recording timeline? I hope that I'm making sense with all of this confusing gibberish. Thank you ...I appreciate the effort and work that you put into your videos!

    • @AveryFlies
      @AveryFlies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Way simpler than that! Audio and video are recorded on each gopro in their own sd card like normal, but I discard all audio except my hemlet cam with the superior microphone. Sync is done by simply aligning start times with that remote. In previous videos, you've seen me go "one potato two potato *clap*" to sync the videos by their audio. But now that I have that little remote, I just import video clips from each camera chronologically and they are all the same length, starting at the same instant. If you have more than 2 cameras the remote is a godsend! Once I'm off the ground, all cameras start, stop, power on and power off at the same time.

      @@AveryFlies Avery, thank you! I see now that the remote is key. Hopefully I will get to fly powered paragliders some day! Keep flying and I will continue watching and dreaming!

      @@Terry-ib6uv the remote helps! Without it, I would start all the cameras within 15 seconds and sync the video with the audio. Then the cameras would just run the whole time until they die. The remote lets me sync easier and conserve battery.

    Really like how you keep conversation real, and on content. Glad I found this video as I’m currently looking into cameras now. Can you tell me how the chase cam connects? Is it off the wing or? Thx for making this. Was really helpful.

    • @AveryFlies
      @AveryFlies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is connected to the D attachments on the bottom of the wing surface near the center. NOT the brakes!

    I like the idea of a helmet cam, however I just don't trust sticky mounts (didn't have a choice with the bluetooth coms modual, but it still worries me). I was using a chest rig for the motorbike, haven't tried it (or any in flight camera) on the paramotor yet though. Wing mount is a great angle, just once again, don't think I'd be happy to trust it with a AU$600 camera. Chase cam is one thing I do eventually want, love the remote to sync up the recording! (bit hard to take a laptop up with me to solve that issue the way I did with target shooting vids).

      I recommend 3M vhb tape (GoPro brand concave mounts come with it) and 3M adhesion promotor 94. You will break the mount before the tape lets go. I use it in my day job and trust a camera to it with no hesitation. I also used the same adhesion promoter to stick my strobe lights to my fuel tank, and they're still on there a year later. amzn.to/3P3MU5a

    How is the selfie stick is attached to the SAFTY CABLE ANCHOR?
    Cool video through!

    • @AveryFlies
      @AveryFlies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cable anchor has a nylon webbing loop on the end with a snap/clasp. I pass that through the wrist strap of the selfie stick, then use a zip tie to make sure the snap/clasp doesn't come undone.

    Really enjoyed your video, how do you sync the audio, is it done in editing or do all the GoPro"s link audio by Blue tooth?

    • @AveryFlies
      @AveryFlies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Simpler than that. By using the remote, each GoPro starts and stops at the same time. I only use the audio from my helmet since it has the external mic. When I go to edit videos, I lay them out chronologically and the videos that are the same length go with each other. Because they start and stop at the same time, that syncs them. Maybe this will explain it better: th-cam.com/video/V-zE6CHoVNY/w-d-xo.html

      I like your wingtip, and follow cam best. For myself, the helmet cam tends to turn with my head Since I keep my head on a swivel where I fly, it doesn't make much sense. I also personally use a clip on a chest strap. Nor such a fan of the results, but it is only for me anyway.
