I don't own or drive a GX, or own or drive any other vehicle that needs a suspension lift, but this video was so well put together, I could not help but to watch this sub-30 minute video end to end. For once TH-cam actually recommended a video I enjoyed. Thanks guys for the hard work and effort you put in. Aloha🤙🤙

Great video, I was lazy at first and didn’t read all the comments so be sure to do that.
    1. Ironman Customer service is top notch, when in doubt just call them
    2. Ditto pax front…Jack the driver side to lower pax side or it will fight you
    3. Rear shocks come with two extra washers each side, I didn’t need them, verified by customer service. They are there to take up play on bottom mount if needed mine was perfect as is
    4) spray your bolts with penetrating oil. If anything seems tight take steps to heat if possible to avoid shearing bolts. I sheared a rear sway bar bolt. This added a half day to the schedule and two trips to the store…wasn’t able to extract after heating multiple times and drilling out and trying extractors. Ended up drilling out and re-tapping. It’s M10x1.25 in case it happens to you, hole size 11/32” or 8.5mm (I think but check yourself)
    5) rear pax top shock access is smaller than driver side on my 2015 gx. I opened the access area up a bit with a small cut off wheel/ bending.
    6) great wrenches help immensely, def have those
    7) for rear shocks, the balancing act as you see in the video is a pain. I found it way easier to use a bungee to hold it up, going through bottom shock hole to the bump stop. Takes a couple tries to get height right but made it super easy
    8) pax UCA bolt gets held up on lines in the engine bay, just heads up you might have to fanangle it. I used a pet pry Bar and my hand to move it correctly out. To get back in it was not needed
    9) new Panard bar if equipped - be sure to lift the rear and to unload it, will help Versus fighting it. Also ensure the little bends are in right orientation to allow sway bar mount enough clearance.
    10) use taller Jack stands , my smaller ones worked but had to use wood to increase height

Good tutorial, however, the one thing missing in this tutorial is the passenger side front strut. It isn't as easy as the driver front but if you use a floor jack to compress the driver side sway bar (underneath the kdss hydraulic cylinder), that would allow you more than enough room to remove and install the passenger strut.

No others have transformed the ride quality as dramatically as this one - all in positive ways. The truck is PLANTED, but not harsh. Braking is SOLID, with 90% less Nose Dive. I've ran Icon, Toytec, and OME. But I'm leaning towards Ironman this time around. But the Air suspension on my 2016 GX Luxury has me a bit baffled. I'm worried about having lights triggered on the dash after removing the OE suspension. Have you guys got adequate information on a step by step for us folks that have the AHC (automatic height control system)? I'm ready to make the move to Ironman because I believe it's going to work well for the type of desert running I do. I know there are too many questions to reply in this format so I'll probably give you guys a call next week. Your video tutorial of this install was spot on. Firstly does the washer stacking on the rear shock apply to all the vehicles? I know my Prado does not a have flanged washer on the top side from factory. Secondly the foam cell pro front shock has a much narrower bottom bush than the factory shock. Does iron man install washers inbetween the bush and lower control arm mount to take up the additional clearance. There was nothing in the instructions or fitting kit to suggest that you do.

    Great video Ironman America!
I noticed your 460 had rear coils and no AVS. Are these options for the different trim levels of 460? I have an '07 sport 470 with AVS and rear airbags stock (honestly part of the reason I'm stalling on a suspension swap. The autolevelling is amazing plus the add 1.6" lift even when loaded, I also appreciate the AVS' adjustability for different conditions).
As above I've been "shopping" lift options. I've shelved the yellows for various reasons not exclusive to ride quality and quite interested in the teals, especially at their price point, however I think I'm sold on the foam cell pros for various reasons. Your kit comes with the UCAs whish is a great upgrade with a 2" lift. Are they adjustable ball joint placement or fixed ball joint but positioned to account for lift and precise alignment?
The meatiness of the shocks are a total selling point when compared to Bil and even Dob's.
Thanks again and keep the vidz coming on the 460 family build?
It's largely mirroring mine as I already have the rack and awaning and the "take it out and get familiar with your rig stock, and what it can do" is well underway.
Keep up the great work and videos!
    *EDIT*
I just answered my own control arm question by watching the video. ;) 👍

Great question! Out of the big Australian brands, we are the only one that is still family-owned and operated. Our beginnings were in suspension, unlike the others. The Foam Cell Pros are simply a great performing product that is strong and reliable without the expensive $$$ and high maintenance. @@Ironman4x4America I have installed the lift on my Gx460, thank you for the video. It was very helpful, but I do have one comment. Please include a note (after the driver's front install section) saying that the front passenger side will require removing the skid plate, unbolting the sway-bar on the passenger side (you don't have to remove it), and jack the cylinder (driver's front side) to make sure the lower control arm on the passenger side drops so you can install the shock. I spent probably 2hrs trying to remove the original shock, then trying to install the new one...I had to stop the work and finish the next day (after researching the problem). Your video is great and very helpful, if you include the note above on a black screen it will be perfect! (you can see it here: instagram.com/p/CJBgIkhHBc1/?fbclid=IwAR36hj_h_vbXWw_eG38bT5yhaOmbxcOpRbk8oCGN1rKkaklaNMfTGv_haKQ). Just quick editing with the note will resolve it. do you absolutely have to put the other parts on the kdss system on as well or could you get away with backing out the shudder valve bolts two full revolutions and then just taking care of the rest of the rear and tighten them back up when your done?? any thing will help thank you:)

The stock panhard bar will contact the KDSS bracket bolt and make an annoying clunk. Having the KDSS compatible rear panhard bar and spacers help with clearance when you lift a KDSS equipped vehicle eliminating the contact.

Hi.. can you adjust the height after the front struts are installed on the vehicle?

    • @Ironman4x4America
      @Ironman4x4America  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Because the springs have preload on them and with them being super beefy it's very difficult to get any adjustments in the vehicle. It's so much easier to. pull. the. strut assembly out, measure your spring seat height, and make the adjustment. Always remember that any adjustment made produces results at a 2:1 ratio.

Also, I see you have an air bag delete kit. Is this deletion kit necessary as an addition to the Ironman lift package? I've also heard one would want to limit lift to 2 - 2.5" inches where KDSS is present. Do you agree? My goal is to get 285/75 r17s on the vehicle. If this goal is ill-advised, please let me know.
