It's actually phenomenal just how SMALL the Air 3 is given its rock solid performance and speed. We so quickly forget how far these drones have advanced these things have gotten
Peter your comparison was excellent. I had a 2s and only 2 days ago I flew it off the yacht near Samos island (Greek island near Turkey) whilst sailing and my worst nightmare happened. Yep the drone took off then hit one of the mast stays and dived into the water , then proceeded to sink fast. Depth 150m deep. Gone. So now when I get back home (Australia) it’s time to get a new drone. The Mini 4 pro seems to be the one. My first drone was a Mavic Air which was small and great but range was crap. The 2s was too big to carry around for surfing shots also Active tracking was hit and miss. So now it’s the Mini 4 pro after you convinced me it’s the go to drone. Great Video and I have subscribed. Will take up your course as well. You are bloody good at presenting. Thank you
Fantastic video. Really impressed with your style and the way you compared the two drones. Subscribed!
Exciting times! Great upgrades on the car. Drive safe Peter 💪🏻 great seeing progress on the new home :)
I replaced my Mavic AIR with the AIR 3. The reason for this is with the higher winds at my home this drone flies very smoothly, and weight can be good. My AIR was at the edge with stability and reacted in a very nervous way managing the wind. I live on a hill in Switzerland and we have a slot where we have stronger winds due to the topography. I basically just fly around my field, bringing any drone anywhere is a bit of a hassle. For the price the AIR 3 is amazing.
Sick and useful video! Nice editing too!
Great video man!👌🏼
Excellent review Peter, top quality as expected hehe 👌
Always a pleasure to watch your videos, if I want something light and capable my Mini 3 Pro is always with me, just like in my holidays in Greece I had my mini, I did miss my Mavic 3 sometimes. But the Mini series is one of the best things DJi has created.
informative and so entertaining, thank you!! I think the mini 4 would be a great option for me to start!
Great color edits in this and shots. Thank you for testing it and editing it for use/look in real edited test. As long as I can edit it and make it look decent compared to my black magic camera, I’m fine haha
Awesome as always
i just bought the mini 4 pro yesterday, had my first flight today, thanks for the help in deciding, i think the major factor for not going with air 3 was the weight issues with needing certs!
You don't really need much. Just a license that is super easy and cheap to get.
@@andreasn.9970 great vid thanks! I ordered the mini 4 but put it on hold as the new restrictions of 150m flight height coming in next year for the mini series seems a shame, its my first drone and im now thinking the air 3 might be the one as I do like the extra creativity of the 70mm lens. I am in Ireland and it seems you need the license for the mini anyway as it has a camera? is it the same license for both the mini and the air? Thanks in advance
Very nice review again.
Question do I need a license to fly the Air 3 in Sweden? Is it the same licence for the MAVIC Pro? Tack 😜
The video quality and editing are impressive and the video is very informative. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for sharing.
Argh that combined edit tho 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for comparing them.
Loving my air 3
Muy buenos los dos cada uno con ventajas.
Like seeing you back on track 🤘🏻
Oh it’s a grind 🤙🏼
@@PeterLindgren1 Loving it, good to the point content 🔥
Got the Mini 4 Pro on release but today my Air 3 will arrive. I’m looking forward to more stability and the 3x lens
did you have time to test them? Im trynna decide between both
In the wind the AIR 3 is amazing. I LOVE the smooth flight. Weight is great.
That;s an interesting result. So meaning the sensor on the mini 4 are much better?
Got the mini 4, its my first dji drone but damn am i happy with it. I take it with me to work every day on the farm just because its so small and easy to do. Really impressed with the quality, and have found quite a few opportunities to use it not just to take great shots but also to make work easier by inspecting things from the sky. I fly mode 3 as thats what im used to from gaming and flying rc helis and its that easy with yhis drone that i fly with 1 hand while operating machinery with the other.
I have the Air 3 and the mavic 3 Pro and the autel lite plus as a backup. Not big on mini series
What do you think about the 2S compared to the mini 4 pro? Is it really worth the upgrade?
This is a real review of how a drone suppose to be. Real running and not on a bicycle seeing how the drone follows and use obstacle avoidance. Good Post
best unboxing I've ever seen... 🙂
I chose mavic 3 classic and very happy. Quality of video is fantastic.
I have the Air 3. I live close to the sea and we have always much wind. A Mini doesn`t make any sense
I got both mini 3 pro and air 3. Air 3 prefer. Mini cannot take wind
Made the mistake of trying to land the mini 3 pro in a evening windy beach setting
And the 3 didn’t like heat too. The only time the mini is better is if your locations laws make the air3 too difficult to justify owning
Air 3 all the way
Mini CAN take the wind but it takes a beating for sure. Can wreck some footage
Bravo great video! Thank you for all the information in this video! I thought I was watching a James Bond movie after awhile because you were in SO MANY different locations in this one video and all for a couple of drones! That is why you are THAT GUY! 😉
so the main camera quality is the same? i hear its same sensor, it looks so from the tech specs on dji site, but you never know, and software processing can be different too.
The price difference is pretty huge, so if video quality is the same its imo hard to justify air3
What about the wind resistance levels on the mini 4 pro?
What is hanging in the garage? With the green lights. Are those chargers for cars?
Great review! I'm on the fence but i think I'm gonna go with the Air 3.
Great comparison! Tack så mycket 'va! Love it how one can hear your Gothenburg (Gôteboska) accent even in your English! :-D
Love your wind test 😅
Hi bro greetings from Accra Ghana west Africa I just came across your channel for which I want to know about DJI mini 4 pro drone before buying.
You've proved me very right.
I'm still continuing watching the rest of your your videos.
Anyway my drone is on the way coming.
Stay blessed and safe all the time Amen 🙏🙏.
Welbeck here from Accra Ghana west Africa.
I looked at both and I ended up getting the Mini 4 Pro because of the size..I will probably get the Air 3 or the Mavic 3 Pro later
Really nice test video
Yes,Yes i get it both drones are good but man That RAV4 looks so sick 💥 nice modifications 💪🏻
THANK YOU! Haha!
First comment on the car 🤓
Amazing Toyota Rav4 build rig! What tyres are you running on? AT? Snow? Do you have a lift kit?
Thank you! Check my latest video!
My concern would be winds stability outdoors with Dji 4 Pro.
Not sure which one to choose.
wow, you are good. thanks
I have the Air 3 when I can fly unrestricted, the flight time is awesome, much more stable than mini drones, and the 2 lenses allows more options on the fly when you’re up there.
I also have the Autel Nano + if I want to pack light.
Nothing wrong with options.
how do you fly unrestricted?
DJI AIR 3 for me, the Dual lenses and the range wins it. Once the MAVIC 4 pro comes out ill get that, the range the MAVIC 3 Pro is lacking right now, Upgrade the range and ill buy. MINI 4 is awesome though for what it is.
I'm currently thinking about getting a drone (it'll be my first drone ever), I'll "pair" it with my Sony A7IV camera and i'm more into photography, not that much into videography (maybe that'll change when I get a drone, I dont know?) But I want something with a nice camera to be able to catch some nice landscapes & other pictures in a different angle. I'm thinking of getting exactly the Air 3 for photos. Maybe I should check gow the Mini 4 Pro is doing for photography. The Mavic 3 Pro is like on the limit of my budget, its also possible as well. But the price in my country for the Mavic 3 Pro (Fly more kit) is literaly like x2 Air 3 (Fly more kit) drones... and i'm not really thinking that the image quality is 2 times better, like the price difference..
I have both... 😂
No matter how good the mini4 is, flying into the wind with Air3 filming in 3x is so additive I always carry it with me as well.
Two cameras plus wind stability, yeah, the Air 3 is the much better deal...unless of course having a drone fit in your pocket is a thing.
I currently always carry my Air 2S and Mini 3 PRO with me, for the same reason as you carry your Air 3 & Mini 4. It's time for an upgrade, probably to the A3 first.
@@NiklasKrog in my opinion you may keep your setup as it is and wait for the next gen. The only huge improvements will be flight time and 3x but photos form Air3 are slightly worse than Air2s in good light conditions.
I would buy it also but only if the weight goes down again to AIR 1 Niveau (430g!!!) ...that's the weight a AIR should have again! ...A stronger build Mini 4 with a better/bigger camera. That's the drone we all missing in the portfolio of DJI. The Air 3 is a Mavic 3 lite ...too big too les pro for it's size. Why is there not a single DJI drone between 249 und 720g???
@@patfish3291 weight means guarantee of stability against wind. Form this point of view Air3 is PERFECT. The only drawback is the main lens a bit too small but with 1” sensor it would obliterate the Mavic3, so we need to wait a bit more for the absolute best conceivable drone.
Will the battery in the pixel 8 swell before 2030? Pixel 6 and 7 batteries are swelling and google is refusing to honor warranties
yeah, but air3 can be used in reconnainssance better to spot enemy tank formations and artillary adjustments and could carry bigger payload than mini... just an other thing to consider when living with 1300km border ruzzia
nice 👍🏻
I wonder if it's like a CNC, where if it overtravels you need to go out the route you came for safety reasons.
Great video. I couldn’t take it when you put the battery pack on the screen and moved it around. Weren’t you concerned about scratching the screen?
It gets scratched no matter what. As long as it doesn’t crack I’m good 🔥
freaking awesome intro.
Good video, again, Peter!
I would actually buy the mini 4 pro before the air 3. Thats because of the size, and I didnt like the air 3 when it hit the floor because it shuts of the sensors when the light is low. But, as I said earlier, I’ll stick with my mini 3 pro for now👊
I have the mini pro 3 myself thinking of grabbing a swellpro for flying around waterfalls
im comfused in mini4 and air 3 please suggest me what i should go for
They have wide angle for mini 4 pro, so why they don't make example 3X tele lens for it?
Thinking of buying the mini 4 as a backup for my mavic 3 classic.
👍I have the same setup, both great drones for different use cases. Greetings from 🇳🇱
@gekoldronevideos how does the mini handle dutch wind? Also (if you got it) how much was the certificate
@@haunter90, the Mini 4 Pro handles the wind quite good, but because it’s very light not as good as the heavier and more powerfull Mavic 3 Series. In strong winds it’s better use a more powerfull drone. Drone registration under 250 gr. for camera drones In NL is one times 23 euro and yearly 13 in the next years. The Mini 4 Pro is a C0 class drone so no certificate needed. You can find some video’s on my YT channel how the DJI Mini series handles wind. Greetings from 🇳🇱
I'm still trying to decide between these two. I had many DJI drones (Phantom 4, Mavic 2 Zoom, Avata, and Mini 3 Pro), but from all the drones I've had I used the Mini 3 Pro the most and that's the drone I love the most and mainly because of the size.
I think, the most important factor when choosing a drone is how comfortable you're going to be with it. Because you can have amazing specs on paper, but if you're going to feel that it's too heavy or too big to take it with you on a hike, or it's too loud and draws too much attention, then you'll end up not using it as much. My Mini 3 Pro fits even the smallest backpack I have and I can find room for it even if I have other stuff to carry. I can get it started in a minute even with calibration and the footage (even in low light), fits most of my needs (and I even shoot stuff that goes to TV). I would love to have a 3x lens or a 5x but I have a feeling that simply because of the size, I would rarely take a drone like the Air 3 with me, let alone anything bigger, and even if I did, I would still use it less because of drone laws and the fact that it draws more attention. With the Mini 3, I sometimes flew only a few meters away from people when they noticed the drone, and even if I never ended up using the drone at a location, it didn't bother me to carry it because I honestly barely noticed it was with me.
Anyhow, maybe that's just me, but I think putting this all down, I just convinced myself to upgrade to the 4 pro instead of the Air 3 😄
Love both drones.. Wish i have one😘🥰
Awesome video and I always enjoy watching your content. I have M3 Standard so for me, I'd probably go with the Mini 4Pro just because of its portability, light weight compared to the M3, and the true vertical 4k shooting
I have an Air 2S and I am so torn.. Keep it? Air 3 looks outstanding with that dual camera, but it is so large. Mini 4 Pro seems to have 10 pounds of (bleep) shoved into a 5 pound bucket. Crazy tech and camera in such a tiny package. What to do ... what to do?
Keep your Air 2S, it's single camera still outperforms any of the cameras on the Air 3 or the M4P - unless you want more of the creature comforts or longer flight time :P
I have a mini 3 pro (except Air3) and I think is not a necessary for changing on mini 4 pro :)
Nice Neistat intro ;-)
Im planning to buy my first drone, im not pro content creator but on my case a budget meal is the first thing, so i hope next year will change the price for that.
What about de 120 meters of maximum height rule, for the minus 249 grams drones in the EU? Would that change your mind?
I almost never have any incitement to fly above 120M on a regular basis though.
I live in Portugal and my mini 4 pro permit me to fly over 120 mt. There is a new update. 500mts
If you own the M3P then the Air3 is the one way if you want to upgrade, in terms of camera wind resistance active track.
The thing that you forgot to mention is the 120m height limit of the mini4pro starting on the 1/1/24….!!!
Except if you already own like me, the M3P…..
If you’re not update the firmware, you can still flight up to 500m…..!!!
All this said although a really valuable upgrade been up….!!!
Just a thought if you own a M3P maybe doesn’t worth to upgrade to M4P but to Air 3 instead…!!!
For me owning the M3P I’ll definitely go for the Air 3…!!!!😉😉😉
Great video! It should be expressed that getting a certificate is very easy and inexpensive. So don't let that stop you from getting larger drones.
Nothing can beat the natural portrait mode of the mini 4. But tolerating high winds in beach setting, tele lense for parallax, 2 lenses on the air 3 to avoid constant lense filter swapping on the ground, especially when zooming in on objects that need distance like a Ferris Wheel.
Note: if all in doubt. Get both if unsure
Got to see pros and cons there! Definitely clearer and better quality for DJI 3. The only thing anyone needs to answer... is this really worth the bigger size-weight plus nowdays that certificate to be applied so that buying this instead of mini4 pro ???? No right or wrong answers, just what anyone basically needs I think :)
You're using 3x lens of Air3 on a low light. It only has an aperture of 2.8 vs mini 3's 1.7 aperture. It would truly be to dark. You should have used the Air3's 24mm lens.
The air3 has the same lens as the mini4, would make no sense to use the same lens
They both look like great drones! But the mini 4 pro would be nice, because of the size 🤩
Definitely!
Not only the ambience light is to low, your surroundings says a lot to that carpark has a part to play also,it has a lot of metal and iron all around in the concrete which messes up the GPS system real bad.
Mini 4 worked like a charm
@@PeterLindgren1 could it have been a fluke if you only tested each drone once? Maybe 4/5 time Air would have been good and 1/5 time M4Pro would have been good?
Pick a drone that is best for you, your use case, and also doesn't restrict your flying.
Wow ❤
Yup mini4 is confident winner, however the air3 is much faster (alsmost 2 times), this is where Im still deciding which one to choose for shooting skiing. My idea is to use waypoints (as activetrack for skiing is crap), create a route on my ski line and hope its goona be faster enought to keep up with me (its also about veritcal speed)
i mean... the air 3 is better in literally every way except weight lol.
Never say 1x Zoom again 😂
On a happy note, my biggest issue with Mini 3 pro was poor positional accuracy. It could not return to a start point on autonomous flight modes like Quickshots or Mastershots.
I am happy to report that we HAVE improved positional accuracy. We even got Precision Landing, and it works really well. I checked the specs, and sure enough, we have one stepped-up parameter, namely Hovering Accuracy
Horizontal Hovering accuracy is down to
±0.1 m (with vision positioning)
From Mini 3 Pro's
±0.3 m (with vision positioning)
This is WHY or BECAUSE of Precision Landing - I'm not sure which, its strictly chicken and egg stuff. 🤔
1x zoom can be achieved by squinting your eyes
going to hawai. which drone air3 or mini 4 pro that can handle the ocean wind.
Air 3
air 3 for the dual focal length lens
What is the difference between the three times telephoto on the A3 vs just using the Mini 4 Pro wide angle and flying closer to the subject? Why doesn't anyone bring that up?
Maybe can't fly closer?
ah, 3x zoom hade ju varit riktigt grymt!
(Apologies for poor grammar, I’m still just learning Swedish)
@@JoraulStreams yeah correct, with a 3x on a mini 4 would be amazing, and as you say, I also dont think its going to come, it would probably weigh over 249g if so. BUT we can always hope/dream for one 😄
I don't get why the AIR 3 has to have 3x the weight of the mini 4 pro - only because of the tele lens???
Would DJI make the AIR series again smaller (like it originally was❤!!! AIR 1 had 430g instead of 720g now with the AIR 3). The AIR series would be the perfect Drone Platform for a lot of us. Think about a stronger build Mini 4 Pro with a bigger Camera around 420g. That's the perfect Drone and I don't get why DJI don't sell a Drone between 249 and 720g - that's stupid!
Imagine being able to swap out the gimbal as a unit with different cameras
Exactly my thoughts, totally agree👍👌👊👏I owned the Air 1 a few years ago. I now own Mini 4 Pro and Mavic 3 Classic. A new Air style drone between 250 and 500 gr with a good camera & telephoto lens would be perfect for me. Greetings from 🇳🇱
I think that the reason the Air 3 is so much heavier than the Mini 4 has little if anything to do with the tele lens. It is about the weight of the battery. I am currently trying to work out which one to buy having just ditched my Mini 3. Getting the plus battery for the Mini 4 in the UK seems difficult. The flight time from the regular battery is not fantastic and for this reason and the wind resistance reason I am swaying towards the Air 3. I find the flight time of + 40 minutes to be quite a draw. Having said this having the less restricted freedom to fly in more environments with a sub 250g aircraft does sway me back toward the Mini 4. It is a really really tough choice and i change my mind every 10 minutes. Just got back from honeymoon in the far North Of Scotland and for the 2 weeks I was there the UAV Forecast App told me on 10 of my 14 days away that it was not good to fly with my Mini 3. I have now watched about a million You Tube reviews of both aircraft and about 500,00 comparison You Tube clips and frankly am no further on. It's driving me to distraction.
Göteborg! 🥳
Mavic 3 classic just for the pure image quality?
Depends on if you really need true D Log or not I guess
Yeah, Mavic 3 is still the king of picture quality. And even the standard out of the box filming whiteout color grading actually looks pretty damn pretty, probably because of the true color HasselBlad you get. Love my Mavic 3, wouldn't change it for the Mini or the Air 3. And as an icing on the cake, you get adjustable apature on the Mavic and that's exclusive on that alone.
Yes bigger ist better ! 😊
Mavic 3 Pro in 3X and 7X modes. Camera gimbal do a weird shakes. So you have to deal with that unless you wait for next gen. Air 3 it's a better budget solution and Mini 3/4 Pro it's a better backup drone. But man you don't even try fly mini 4 with a little wind. Air 3 it's waaay better as main machine.
I’ve heard the Mini 4 pro struggles in any kind of wind where the Air 3 handles the wind much better. For content creation the mini 4 wins. For client work I think the Air 3 will be better.
I’ve flown in heavy winds with both, and the Air 3 is rock solid. The mini4 is still handling the wind like a champ though, main issue is when flying to the sides
@@PeterLindgren1 I’m looking at getting my first professional drone now. As a video production company I’m leaning to the Mavic Air 3. That medium telephoto is so nice. I started out learning on an Amazon toy drone.
casey Neistat copy in the beginning haha. well done.
But I want to remind, Mavic 3 PRO on 70mm lens has a same size frame 1/1.3 inch and cost is a more than 1000 USD more. So the comparing cost to effect - the Air 3 is a best solution.
The mavic 3 pro is a Hasselblad camera..hence the price difference. Also uses the stacked sensor concept
@@Maruman_man The Mavic 3 pro has a 24 mm Haselblad camera. On 70 mm is completly the same camera as in Air 3. And Air 3 also has a stack sensor. So I don't see a diffrent between those two drones, except price.....( of course we talking about 70mm lens)
Air 3333333! the middle ground
These are essentially the same drone minus a 70mm and a lighter Mini4. Bought the air 3 already and it is now my daily flyer. Mini 4 will be the backup along with the old Air2s. Gotta have the weight for the wind. The mini is perfect for travel and interior real estate, That isn't Air3 Territory. Can't go wrong with either. The new RC2 is so much better than the RC I used with the Mavic 2 Pro. Occusync 4 rocks.
going to hawai and will be recording stuff near the beach, which is better for island recording, air 3 or mini 4 pro
I'd use the Air3. The mini is great, but in situations where discretion is not a factor, I'll go with the larger drone with more flight time and 2 cameras. The 70mm is a true game changer.@@TheMobilemak
God they are so blessed to live such a beautiful country like that wow...
I’m still torn. I like the looks of the Air 3, but I really want the true vertical video feature of the Mini 4 pro.
I'm with you. I can't pull the trigger on one or the other yet. Why can't I have the air 3 camera set up on the M4P? I think i'd be sold
if air3 could rotate the gimball as m3/4 does and provide full sensor vertical 4k , it'd be the best drone ever produced.
video super
That mossy forest is what dreams are made of
The Air feels much stronger , just put your hands on it after touching the mini 4. It boots up and pairs, faster and flies so much better. I bought the mini 4 for a trial period and returned it for Air 3. 100% worth the extra $400
🤘❤️
Of course DJI AIR 3, had it DJI Mini 4 Pro for couple days, but returned it back and got it DJI AIR 3 Combo- full set and I picked the right decision
how do u return dji drones???
@@clicksbyklauss just returned to the shop where it was bought, physical shop , not online shop
mini 3 prodan geçiş yaparak mini 4 pro aldım harika herkeze tavsiye ederim
The only thing that would improve the car-shots would be a shallower DOF .. but you cant get that with these cameras.
👍👍
I FEEL LIKE I could USE a zoom... decisions...
