See we know there's a difference between having clever jokes that have to do with dark or controversial subject matter and saying the most offensive thing you can think of for attention as though you are a middle schooler trying to impress your friends with the bad words you know.
Yeah, saying something that's uncomfortable and turning it into something funny is not the same as, say, Kevin Hart admitting on stage that if his son came out as gay he would beat him, and backing up that "joke" with a litany of homophobic tweets, a confession that he DID beat his son, and stating in an interview when asked about that "joke" that he wouldn't tell it today, not because he recognized that it's abhorrent and child abuse, but because the audience is "too sensitive". None of those jokes were 'harsh' in the slightest imho. In general, the line sits waaaay further away than that for Europe. We can handle quite a lot and are far less sensitive in that perspective. Europeans are in general very chill and also very self-conscious and usually have a very good ability to put things into perspective. eg. If you look up Belgium stand-up comedians like Alex Agnew, (also performs in English btw) he often touches that imaginary line, yet fills big venues as big as a concert arena time after time. Another famous Belgium comedian is Philippe Geubels. He has a completely other style than Alex, but he too can be very hard. And again, is very successful in the low lands (Belgium, Netherlands, ...). Yet another complete different style is Geert Hoste. Another famous big comedian. He too is often very hard but in a far more subtle way. Your humor, as depicted in these examples at least, is extremely soft in comparison. Which isn't a bad thing though!!! Different people like different things. But it would be no problem at all to make it A LOT harder, if that is your cup of tea at least. Bottom line: you really should not be afraid to 'offend' Europeans. They can handle A LOT. So, when doing skits in Europe, no need to cut jokes just for the sake of being too aggressive, offending or harsh 😉
I thought they were all pretty funny and I’m a “liberal snowflake” who happens to be a lesbian with dark humor. My D (censored for YT) and I’ve followed you for a while (ever since she saw the ADHD bit and sent it to me and everyone we know to explain what it was like to be married to me). I think you could get away with them if you ever come back to SLC. We briefly met you and your wife when you stopped here and performed at Wiseguys last year and I have to say, out of all the comedians we’ve met at their little meet and greets between shows - you two were the nicest and most genuine.
I didn't understand number four, but overall I didn't find these jokes offensive. I think some of them tread a fine line, but hey whatever. I'm leaving number 6 up to the lesbians
I think 4 was the weakest but it was still pretty funny. To really break it down the joke is that to get that fat you’d have to spend 100k or to fully transition would also cost 100k. I think what makes it weak is that by saying “there’s 2 ways to spend 100k” makes it seem like maybe he was talking about how it’s hard to spend 100k but that context wasn’t shown in the clip if it exists. It makes the punch line seem a little rushed. Also I don’t know how much the area in Europe he was in understands the local politics of the states. For example he mentioned the states but without knowing that Alabama has the incest joke reputation or Texas being very politically conservative or Florida being batshit crazy I don’t think it has the same impact. I’m Canadian and even for me the connotations to the states was enough to be implied in the joke but I think if you knew the states first hand it would be much much funnier. I honestly think it would’ve been a joke funnier to Americans as they could probably relate to it. The rest were bangers though.
@@SpiderwolferI couldn't tell for the Florida one if he was referencing the wild news articles, the bayou rednecks, or the large elderly community. And maybe leaving it vague is actually funnier because any of the three images is a funny one!
I heard the first joke and chuckled. I literally forgot what the video was about so I was surprised about the sudden cut. Then I remembered and I'm once again baffled by the fact that Americans think they have more freedom of speech. I've heard jokes on shows that went way further over the line and they just caused more laughter than less offensive jokes.
"A wise man is one that laughs. Specially about himself." - Someone said. I have family in Portugal, France and America and a type of joke we always tell starts off with "there was a Portuguse, a French and an American..." the joke is ALWAYS self depradating and its always funny... I think all America should learn from that.
You should tour South Africa man. Your jokes will be hit here the same way they did in the Netherlands. People here are open and love to laugh about life. Congrats man you rock.
We take things way too serious in America. Everybody needs to relax. Really if we stopped worrying about everybody else we’d probably be so much happier.
Way to go Drew! Love your work ❤! I'm a guy with a pretty broad sense of humor. And I'm of the belief that all humor is supposed to be subjective to some degree and that it's not supposed to be taken seriously. To that end, there are a few things I know I don't find funny and things I know I won't laugh at. But in the spirit of comedy, I never take anything personally because then that defeats the purpose of me trying to enjoy comedy. Unfortunately not everyone believes the same things I do and that's ok. I just feel like people that take jokes personally need to practice governing their emotions and reactions a bit better so as not to ruin everyone else's fun.
As your typical, 21st century English "Tell me the worst shit you can think of" brain, the AirBnB joke absolutely caught me off guard, as did the $100k joke, brilliant 😂 In regards to your prostitute/school joke, at least if they get shot there, they can spit it out 🤷♂️

IMO this is your best material, I love your comedy and have followed you for years. Loving the dark stuff and if it matters I'm from the USA.
I love your work. You make me laugh so much, thank you for all the work you do to try to make people smile
Bring it! Eff’m If they can’t take a joke.
8:46 thanks for clearing that up, university and school imply very different age groups...
Love the shirt!
@@Spiderwolfer I had no idea it costef 100k to gain weight. Or do they mean it's spent on food?
@@Bunny_Bill Yeah on food it’s an exaggeration.
I've heard jokes on shows that went way further over the line and they just caused more laughter than less offensive jokes.
when i heard the Free Palestine joke in Dublin it left my jaw on the floor lmfao SO CLEVER!
"A wise man is one that laughs. Specially about himself." - Someone said.
I have family in Portugal, France and America and a type of joke we always tell starts off with "there was a Portuguse, a French and an American..." the joke is ALWAYS self depradating and its always funny... I think all America should learn from that.
i loved this, i hope you upload more of this.
and if you come to the netherlands again i will for sure try and come see you.
You should tour South Africa man. Your jokes will be hit here the same way they did in the Netherlands. People here are open and love to laugh about life. I myself am disabled and I use my disability to entertain myself and those around me. Kinda like you. You're just way better at it. Love watching your stuff. Keep it up good man :)
That was HILARIOUS!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I just clicked this video without reading the title or anything, wasn't until halfway when Drew asked if these jokes go too far that I had to stop enjoying myself to fully understand what this video is about.
Happy belated 33rd birthday Drew! ❤🎉
And, posted in America. Bet this is great as usual!
Please come to Canada we would love to have you!! (Specifically Calgary)
I thought all the jokes were spot on. Keep up the good work.
Omggg I love your pooh bear shirt ❤
8, 7, and 3 were my favourite. They were all really funny though. Thanks for making comedy, smiling and laughing feels good and these days it can sometimes be hard to come across. I also just learned about your America’s Got Talent thing. Really inspiring dude. I honestly didn’t even know you had a stutter until I got into a video where you said that you do and judging on the America’s Got Talent performance you’ve come a very long way. Congrats man you rock.
I would love to see more bits from overseas
Thanks, thumbs up, have a great day.
Please come to Houston TX!!!
That punchline to follow number 3, in response to the audience, was smooth.
We take things way too serious in America. Everybody needs to relax. Really if we stopped worrying about everybody else we’d probably be so much happier.
Fantastic stuff, I think ireland welcomes you home ha and sure lunch is pretty famous in ireland and am America right
BUH-RILL-IANT!!! This is EXACTLY what America needs!! You need to do this, ple......, I mean Now!!
There are over 50 languages globally that does not have a direct word for "please"
That Eiffel Tower joke was pretty good 😆
As your typical, 21st century English "Tell me the worst shit you can think of" brain, the AirBnB joke absolutely caught me off guard, as did the $100k joke, brilliant 😂
In regards to your prostitute/school joke, at least if they get shot there, they can spit it out 🤷♂️
My background is one quite well removed from any argument of diversity (I like to say I'm Default Male A in a character creator), but as someone who still considers himself an ally of all of that stuff, I damn near lost it laughing at a good chunk of these. They're all good, just some had me audibly guffawing they were so good.
These jokes are amazing. I can see why you wouldn't do them here in the states. But man I wish you could without backlash. The Please joke is my favorite.
I’m offended that these jokes aren’t more f*ck lol 😂 we need more of these
I love these clips 😂 made me laugh so much!
Drew, thanks alot mate for coming to Denmark :- )
Great Work Drew😂
I don’t see anything wrong here! These jokes were great 😂🤣🤣 keep it up!!!
the difference between jokes and being offensive is the surroundings, if my boss would say something sexist and then say "its a joke" during a meeting, that even i as a europen find offensive, but if im going to a COMEDY SHOW and hear something sexist, its most, higly likely a joke and that i think if the difference between europeans and americans
American fan here. I loved all your jokes. I'm Jewish, not offended. I'm an Irish / Russian Jew actually so there's that. So go for that, cutie pie.
Happy to see how you become a monster in comedy. They usually say USA is the land of freedom, but you cant actually be that free there. In Europe you can go wild "for maaaany seconds!!".
Is that a fucking banana chair? 🤣🤣🤣
Here from America and I always love your jokes even these! A comedy show is where nothing should get taken seriously and just enjoy in the jokes cause that's what they are, jokes! Keep doing you Drew we love it ~sincerely a short hispanic lesbian who cracks up at every short, hispanic, and lesbian joke you've made !
I love the way you described the art of jokes and comedy!
