Britain gives over 7 billion annually in international aid to counter poverty. This includes India which is wealthier & dismisses it as a pittance, although it was the equalled the cost of their vanity space program. None of this aid reaches the poor as corrupt officials pocket it. We are also wasting billions on phoney illegal immigrants. To use money on defending freedom is a worthy moral cause. To allow Russia to occupy Ukraine would set a dangerous precedent as was shown by Crimea. With China looking to expand it becomes increasingly important.

@@paulstuart551 Russia has already agreed just to hand over the eastern part in negotiations but Ukraine refuses. One of the main reasons they started the war was because of USA donating weapons to Ukraine, and placing military bases on the east of Ukraine with Nato. The USA is just as much to blame. Not to mention lots of eastern Ukraine is pro-russia but is silenced by government acting as a proxy for the USA.

To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the economy like everyone else just isn't good enough. I've been quite unsure about investing in this current economy and at the same time I feel it's the best time to get started on the economy, what are your thoughts?

Since the crash, I've been in the red. I'm playing the long term game, so I'm not too worried but Jim Cramer mentioned there are still a lot of great opportunities, although stocks have been down a lot. I also heard news of a guy that made $250k from about $110k since the crash and I would really look to know how to go about this.

@jdjddjdjj Means testing is particularly cruel for people who exist on the threshold for it. Labour say people can apply for pensions credits but if everyone eligible for it applied it would wipe the savings out. That UCL professor talking about spending money on consultants hit the ball out the park. There's WAY too many of these middle-manager nothing jobs in this country. Most of these people are on much higher than average salaries. Using ambiguous metrics to justify their eye-watering costs. Even when buying a house there's so many of these roaches. About time we start building and innovating instead of spending money on these losers.
It's honestly crazy how many 20 something' people who will tell you they "work in consulting" in London.
