So, as we all know by now, I am an overtired idiot, and didn't know that the Pahvo Crystal Prism console actually deals Psionic damage (I tought it dealt Physical damage). That should've been on this build somewhere. This is an event reward from a few years ago and is currently available in Mudd's Market if you missed it. Thank you to @SEVEN-nz1wb for pointing that out.
I found out a few years ago that if you're not on elite difficulty, it's not really worth building around weapon procs. They are only a 2.5% chance per fire cycle, and most everything should be killed so fast that the peoc won't have a chance to do anything. Fixing FAW killed weapon procs. However, on elite, you will see weapon procs a little bit more. What I would like to see is something that will increase your weapons proc chance. Something to make their procs useful again. Razar.
I'm using the Breen Absolute Zero set on the Hysperion, and it will be permanent on that ship. Not only it makes the ship look amazing, reptilian style pattern with gorgeous warp&impulse trail, but also it fits the theme, Fire & Ice. Going with a beam build, wide angle DHBB from Disc rep, withering DBB, terran BA and more BAs and 2 torps from sets, being the House Martok and Nausicaan (full sets) and a 2 pc, Preserver Resonant and Counter-Command Ordnance (one of the consoles buffs disruptor and radiation damage and the 2 pc gives +7.5% bonus disruptor damage. It's a real fun time flying this ship, my fav combo is, Forced challenge, Tractor Beam and then give it the Dragon's Breath with plenty of piri-piri.
For anyone who doesn't have access to most of the exotic damage shown on the budget build and who wants to consistently have Five Magicks active, the Kentari Missiles from "Mirrors and Smoke" are actually a useful FTP stop-gap in that regard due to their consistent radiation damage, rapid fire rate and 180 degree arc.
They also have the advantage of looking incredibly cool with Torpedo Spread. ... that's not a DPS thing, they just look amazing when you use that ability.
While the Hysperian is just an ok ship on its own, the console and trait are a godsend for many builds. Especially the Cnidarian Defender and Byr'Jai Interceptor get a significant power boost from it. A disruptor CSV build on the Byr'Jai can be ridiculously powerful with all of its control abilities, as you can just pull enemies into a nice little ball in front of you with anomalies while blasting them with the console's flame cone, which recharges so quickly that you can have it up almost permanently. Also fits nicely thematically to the Fek'Ihri fire aesthetic. And its Ravager Shriek experimental weapon also becomes one of the most powerful in the game with it. And the Cnidarian finally has something to boost its electrical AOE damage. I managed to get up to 300k damage per hit on a single enemy on a ROM Tac max DPS build in a PUG run with this, bringing its theoretical max DPS potential to around a whopping 1.5 Mil unsupported.
I went disrupter beams for mine. one nice thing is that allowed me to use symbiotic ice in the personal traits. not a lot of cold damage from it by itself, but doing cold damage with each beam really helped keep the 5 magics up. ..and typed that before you said something...opps.
Yes. The trait and the console are pretty sweet. The trait alone gives me almost 30% more disruptor damage. I haven't parsed it yet. I like the ship much more than I thought I would. And the color customizations on this thing are nuts.

Heh, I'm doing a build kinda like this, albeit more heavily focused on fire specifically, using the Fek;'lhri Fer'ang just cause with the 32c vanity shield it kinda looks like a magic space castle. Needless to say I'm taking notes!
but then I have to waste a seat on Engineering team and I'd rather cut my hand off. Also, I do not have the reflexes to be able to hit Eng Team quick enough for it to make a difference.
22:24 I think 6k is the range of the Graviton Displacer. Anyone within 6k gets trapped, and then you can move within 5k and roast them. I would experiment with that if I were you.
Yeah, anything caught in it wouldn't be at a fixed 6km away from you, but its enough that it would screw with the Dragonblood Reactor. You'd likely have to keep moving forward has a very quick speed to force any ships in the displacer close enough to you. At that point Grav Well is just more reliable.
I saw Trizander use the displacer on his dragon ship in one of his videos. He was doing for grins and giggles but maybe you can check with him and see how effective it was.

Yeah, Biomolecular would work too. I was actually looking at those before I found the Withering Disruptors. I chose the Withering because the Radiation damage from the proc on the Biomolecular disruptors takes time to trigger. It starts as a flight speed debuff that lasts 8 seconds, and the Radiation damage doesn't kick in until the debuff expires.
@@Stu1701 Ain't that the truth. Got a very similar Hysperian fire build to this. Love the look of the ship. It's got enough of what I love in specialist seating to make it very effective. 5 engi slots for those juicy isomag consoles. Only got 5 so Lorca's is in the T6X uniconsole slot. Had to go with the Terran withering disruptors due to the radiation proc even though I have spirals available with the Dark Matter torp to give the 2 piece critD buff. One of the best freebie ships for sure.
at 4:40 you named a type of disruptor, but it was garbled (for me here) and I cant make out what you said.... would you tell me please? (my OCD is killing me LOL)

It's sliding off topic a bit, but I need to ask someone much more informed: Energy Overdrive, Preferential Targeting and Five Magicks: Is there enough reason to run either of the aforementioned two with Five Magicks or is it better served to leave them behind? On Console, it's not as easy as proc'ing them and looking at numbers because it doesn't show in our *available data.
Once free ships that you must get from mudds is NOT a budget option. Those older felkeri ships consoles and traits cannot be considered for budget builds.
Which is why I pointed out multiple alternatives you can obtain from the reputations. This is why I hate doing budget builds, everyone has their own definition of budget and no matter what I do, I get yelled at.

Disco klinks and the Hirogen with every ship having a subnuke makes 9th rule frustrating for sure when they appear.
Your builds look fun, its a pity I haven't been playing for years because I'd be swapping out most of the build just to fit the ship.

Does the Trait refresh with use of each magick - does it only need one magick setting off to keep it refreshing?

yes, but symbiotic ice only buffs beams. this is a cannon build.
