  • Aboveground storage tanks apply high bearing pressures on foundation soils. This may result in excessive total and differential settlement and edge stability performance issues, Welded floors may begin to tear or crack under the imposed loads, and corrosion or metal failure may take place beneath the floor.
Qualitech tank jacking solution, allowed the tank owner, to begin reconstructing the tank's bottom foundation, safely and with minimal limitations. Using tank jacking solution The current TANK VOLUME is maintained while the original engineering design remains unchanged.
A new, reinforced concrete slab with crystalline admixtures, functions as a corrosion inhibitor, provides a good hard bottom surface, that allows for accurate control of the tank bottom slope.
Concrete slots, evenly spaced throughout the foundation area, serve as release prevention barrier and leak detection, as per API 650 appendix I figure I-7.
This open system, allowing ventilation to remove any moisture that enters the space. And can prevent bottom failure, due to trapped air in the interstice, being pumped by pressure.
The storage tank, weighing over 400 tons with its floating roof, is now ready for the first lowering stage, to 100 mm. above the new concrete foundation.
Over the new foundation, a new annular ring is being assembled, followed by a new floor at a later stage.
When it is done, the tank can be finally placed on the new foundation, releveled, with a new bottom, ready to serve same as new storage tank.
without expensive and complicated nozzles and piping height adjustments. And Without unnecessary shell slotting. Using tank jacking solution, the storage tank original engineering design, remains unchanged.
Moreover, the tank volume is maintained, ready to serve for long years with its original storage capacity.
