Hey brad. Big fan. I'm coming down to vegas from Massachusetts july 16th. Staying at the Bellagio. Hope to see you at some 2/5. Good luck out there and stay safe.
@@andrewgentile5870 Hey Andrew, good luck on your trip if you do end up playing. I'm probably done playing live in LV for awhile. I think there's a decent chance casinos shutdown again to be honest. There weren't really any cases out here when I shot this home game footage, or when I filmed the next two sessions that will come out, but things have gotten significantly worse in the last week.
Oh no, that would be extremely unfortunate. I've never been to vegas before. This was a bucket list type of trip haha. But that's good to know thank you for the heads up. Everything is pre paid for already so if they do shut down I hope things work out with a deposit. If things do cool off and get better again I'd love to buy you a beer and talk some poker.
For your Shirts, a suggestion put the Suits on the shoulders two on each side, red black red black, and some cool Graphic on the back like your Favorite Hand, or a special hand to you
Been enjoyable seeing you turn your passion into a very profitable one through discipline and to put it simply hard work through analysis. Giving a good example to younger players with costly errors and habits. Could you do a video on what practices you implemented to make you a profitable disciplined player?
Damn brad..I’m a respiratory therapist who needless to say is not financially struggling through this pandemic..seeing things like your kindness to others makes it easier for me to keep my head down and just keep going treating COVID patients thinking that hopefully this shitty pandemic will all be over soon..keep it up good sir and stay healthy
And yet here we are 7 months after this comment and many of our country who previously decided to claim everything was "fake" and completely ignore common sense behaviors have contributed, in large part, to many densely populated areas seeing higher spikes in infection rates than the initial introductory period. Whereas if they'd just not been complete morons, we may have been in a significantly better position right now. Thankfully treatment options have vastly improved and the death to infection ratio is dramatically lower than initially. (Apologies for the rant. It's a combination of too much to drink and dating a nurse who has to deal with this shit daily as a result of others' ignorance. I'm aware of how it comes off, but too uninhibited to care.) Regardless, thank you for what you've done and hopefully still continue to do. Not all roles are appreciated as much as they should be, and it takes extremely unfortunate circumstances for many to realize that we should be thanking more people than we normally think to.
Hey Brad just wanted to let you know I’ve just started playing poker. I already won a few tournaments online and poker has quickly become a huge passion of mine. Watching your videos has helped me a lot and I’ve got a lot better thanks to you. (Btw I’m 16 so I sadly can’t play with you for a few years) but hopefully we have the chance in a few years.
I'm not new to your content but not a strong follower. But I have to say, your videos are so freaking awesome it's like being able to sit next to and play with a pro how you break down each hand, how you played it and the rationale behind each and every move. Thank you for all your content!

Great vlog. Only recently started watching but loving all the past material. Great that you're trying to support the community and do good things while people are suffering. Will definitely join next time you're in the UK!
Hi I'm from England and would just like to let you know it's been a great help watching your vids. I love the game I've been in many situations in my life with an all in situation. Your videos have gave me a new educations. Thanks.
What is the best advice you can give for someone looking to start playing 2/5 for a living? I have traditionally played 1/3 and smaller buy in tournaments. What is needed to take the next step? Thanks Brad!
Hey Brad, just some thoughts on your KJ hand. I would def raise the flop. only 2-6 are blancs. I would think you would look stronger checkraising a turn like that, then raising a drawy flop. Also your hand needs protection against hands like QT, T9, AT, AQ, and even KQ or AK, which are very likely. Thanks for your vlog man, good to see you back!
I'd like to nominate a buddy of mine, he doesn't know me but I feel like I know him. His name is Brad Owen. He's a great poker player and an even greater guy. But lately I feel like he's been struggling with his play (covid aside) and he just can't beat this player called Andrew Neeme when he has to. Neeme reads Brad like an open book and he always falls short on the big pots. It must be really tough for Brad. Jokes aside, great thing you're doing Brad. It makes me happy to see that people can help people in these crazy times!
We just started our home league back up and we started 6 handed 2 tables, 7 went to final table and we always play cash after, its a great time and fun safe enviroment
Watching the poker vids, training the game all while listening to music that makes me sharp and able to achieve. I like Delta Parole, AFi, etc as music, what you guys listen to focus I am curious?
Welcome back. Hopefully casinos are 9 handed soon. What is the rake like at home games in comparison to casinos? The high stake home games hellmuth and Matusow play in any idea if rake is capped in that one?
Brad, on behalf of other unemployed poker room employees (dealer), I wanna say thanks for doing something for us. I was recently called back for a “return to work” meeting only to be informed 2 days later that those plans have been nixed by mgmt due to increased viral infections here in SoCal. Chrissy seems like a great person and I think helping her out at this time is fantastic. Things are tight for us but I’d like to Pay Pal her a few dollars too. Anyway you can get the link? I’d be happy to send it to you to forward if you’d like. God Bless & be safe.
That's pretty cool they hire a dealer. We play our homegame with 2 decks. Person deals on their turn, and after done dealing you shuffle cards while next person deals the other deck. Hand is over. First person dealt passes the shiffled deck for the 3rd person to deal. Keeps the game moving much faster. Glad things are getting back to being somewhat normal after the Covid messed up everything.
Weird question. How did you like those poker chips? They close to casino quality? Looking to buy some good quality chips for upcoming home game. I Found them online I think.
hey Brad, love your videos... I have heard about home games and potential danger, my friend who is a far more experienced poker player than me said the rake games here in Anchorage, Alaska are very difficult to beat as opposed to Vegas.. being somewhat of a beginner I have never really understood the rake.. I know what it is but I can't see it and how it affects me, if that makes sense without me sounding ignorant
Hey Brad, nice video! I was wondering if you can explain your logic at the 6:57 mark. Why would you be more likely to check back with a hand like K9 and more likely to bet a hand like AK? From my POV, I would think the opposite. Wouldn't it be better to check back AK (since you aren't afraid if an Ace hit the turn, and also it's less likely that your opponent has a lone ace high hand to call you with on the flop, so your opponent is more likely to fold), compared that to the scenario that if you do have the K9 you would rather bet (to protect overcards from hitting the turn, Ace, and also more likely your opponent does have an ace high hand so he may call). Or is your logic more on the "defensive" side (for the scenario that it is easier to play your hand when you do get raised on the flop if you are holding AK versus holding K9?) Thanks Brad!
Thanks for the support your providing to people in the community. I have a friend who's on hard times.. they're struggling to get by, even in the poker world. They could really do with a bit of assistance right now. If you can find it in your heart to help Mike Postle, please do.
Hey brad! I’ll be in Vegas later this month and have play a bunch of online poker but never in person. Could you recommend a good place for a first time live player that might be open?
Since this pandemic times i watched a lot of your videos. Amazing videos and nicely explained. I tried to watch some of your friend’s videos Andrew, but whithout filming at the table where you can see the cards its boring. Keep up the work and i would stay away from home games. Ty

That's crazy your buddy witnessed first hand someone getting shot in front of him. Homegame I play has cameras all over and a live feed of it on one of the tv's. Even the cameras outside. Closest I can come is my buddy deals at a local Elks club and a few months back someone had a heart attack and died at the table in front of everyone. The best thing about home games is they aren't raked or extra charge for a tourney. The host gets in the game cheaper for running it at his house.
I'm wondering in the last hand why you checked the turn. I feel like with two people still in the hand and two flush draws, it's almost always a bet. The only two pair that makes sense is J9, but they could definitely have a flush draw or a random jack holding. I suppose all the sets are possible, but i think they might raise it on the flop with some frequency with a set. Idk checking for pot control doesn't make that much sense to me.

Where would you recommend playing for the first time ever? I play a ton with my friends and have made an effort to get better, im trying to play bigger than 50 dollar buy in cash game but smaller than 200. Any suggestions?
Brad, love your videos. When you play at casinos i see you tip the odd dollar amounts at the cage when your cashing out. At a home game who would you tip (besides the dealer)?
Hey, since you mentioned the rake, how much do casinos in LV charge rake? Over here in Europe they usually take 3-5% of every pot with rake max usually set at 10bb. I also saw that there are places like that card house in texas where you have to pay for your seat every 30mins or so and that way they technically don’t take rake but charge seats. Thanks, hope you are safe and well.
