  • Mui Ne is known for its desert sand dunes, beach resorts and kite surfing. After arriving in Vietnam we traveled here to see if this is a city you should visit in 2022. Once a lively city full of backpackers, parties, and kite surfers is now only visited by locals. We quickly learned that this city had its own unique challenges we had to overcome, so it better or worse?

Thanks for the awesome report. Glad you got the dunes to yourselves for the epic drone shots before the hordes arrived. A lot of work and dedication to your vlog. Keep up the good work.

Even before COVID-19, Mui Ne is already quite quiet but the sand dunes are amazing

Hi, I travel to Vietnam quite often. Often with a local friend. I think everyone here needs to understand that if you are a tourist, you will often pay more, about 50% to 100% more than locals. So whenever possible, ask for price first before you buy. Those with menu have standard price, but often is more expensive as well if it has English translated menu because it already caters to tourist

    • @hectorsherry585

Why do we have to pay more for the same thing?

@@hectorsherry585if it was the same currency it would be unfair, otherwise it seems that you want to take advantage of cheep labour of people and things. It should be different prices everywhere in the world according to the country currency and the salary people earn. This would be the right thing obviously to do in the whole world There is already too much exploitation for society and nature. You need to study better about the way of the capitalism

I'm seriously bummed out by this. 12 years ago I stayed at the first resort to set up there, Coco Beach. It was incredible. But I see it's closed and the bungalows razed. I think it was a double whammy of the pandemic and serious beach erosion. I can see from satellite pictures there's almost nothing left of the beautiful white sands that used to be there.

What a shame. I was there New Years 2012 what a happening place it was. Hundreds of kite surfers. Seafood displayed all along the boardwalk. Great cheap bars right on the beach full of people at night. Was packed back then. Lots of fun and late nights.
