Guys Vermont does not title cars that are over 15 years old. No car that i have bought on this channel had a title if it was over 15. Thats just how we do it here. No title required to own or register
I think car titles like state safety inspections are totally unnecessary hindrances created by bureaucrats that burden ordinary folks from owning affordable used cars.
Keep the duramax!! fix the rockers and shes minty! also, the latch on the door handle itself may be broken. If thats the case buy a replacement for 15$ and ur back door will work
Definitely my favorite generation of these truck's. I just absolutely love the look of these. I'm a Ford guy but I appreciate these older Chevy's and GMC's.
If we are talking the smart money choice, it would be fix and sell the duramax since it has great profit, and diesel is only worth it if you tow for a living since it can get expensive when something breaks. Although the cat eye is my favorite generation
the diesel far outweighs the gas though in the long run, this duramax gets better fuel mileage than an S10 and has way more capabilities. and as an owner of a diesel for almost 5 years now i can tell you they do NOT cost more to fix and maintain once you factor in the fuel savings and how long they last. not to mention 210k on them is literally nothing
@@jamesrainville6226 right but it's not like they both can't stick around and see how the duramax proves itself. Vehicles sold cheap usually are sold for a reason

Wow VT doesn’t require any title that’s proof that inspection and registration fees here in good ol Cali are a money making machine. I just paid $300 for my car registration
Y'all have it rough. Here in Oklahoma, it costs about $200 to tag a vehicle from out of state, then $90 for the next year (could be less), and it decreases for every year the vehicle ages as long as the tags remain valid
@@Govt_cheese903 decreases I wish! When I lived in Texas back in 2014 to register a car it was only $60 plus $20 for inspection even my dad’s 2005 Honda Accord is about $200 and its an extra $49 for a personalized plate per year.
@@Govt_cheese903 crazy.... previously i was in Washington which was a happy medium my county had no emissions and no isspection at all just $80 sticker yearly.
I saw one in NJ for 2.5k, but it had 375k miles and pretty rusty. Typically the used duramaxes and power strokes loose their value the most. Dodge diesels have high resale values.
I owned a 2004 Silverado with a Duramax . It honestly was not a bad truck. However when I used it the way I needed to use a truck it didn't meet my requirements. It was also due for the injectors and the top end work and I did not have the money to repair that. You should find out if that is an LBZ or an LBY Duramax. I think what I miss most about that truck was the Allison Transmission. If I were you I would keep the Duramax and get rid of the gaser as you'll do better towing with the diesel than you will the gaser.
The diesel would definitely be a profitable truck to flip and sell, but you would probably save a lot in fuel money if you kept it. We have a 2001 GMC Yukon and we've had some problems with that pushbutton 4WD. The less electronics the better. But honestly I think either truck would be great. If it were me, I would normally go with that 6.0. Especially, considering the fact that it has a long bed (at least it looked like one). But, fuel prices have started going up where we live so I would recommend the diesel. Keep up the great work and God bless - Everett
Nice truck. Might be a good work truck for your summer cutting jobs. You can put a lot of tools, trimmers, gas etc. In that toolbox on the bed instead of on your trailer. Is the duramax truck a 4x4 or 2 wheel drive? Liked the GMC you drove on your 3 month trip.
with a clean frame do the rockers right, buy a used drivers side back door. Not the cover up that you usually do for rust. the steel kits cheap and I am sure you can find a local welder to weld them in right then undercoat them and bedline the bottom of the doors and rocker. at that point decide to keep or sell it. Those hold value well .
The extended cab doors on the 99-07 trucks or at least ones that I’ve dealt with have all back doors which make you think they don’t open but they most likely do but they just get really hard to open if the truck is older
I’m at work with my AirPods in and a diesel truck went past around 3:40 in your video and I legit thought it was yours and went dang that turbo does whistle 😂
It depends the diesel gets better mileage, sounds better, hauls more, but if you repair all the rust spots on the body maybe even throw the badges back on you could make a lot off that thing
The door panel probably just needs a new handle. Mine broke and worked like that until I put in a new one. I just use the inside hande and works better with less stress that itle break
Keep both of them for some time to see which one will be the most reliable and will be the most economical to use and maintain. Furthermore, a used vehicle may have some issues that will only show themselves after using it for some time.
