A friend of mine went to the same church as my wife and me. He played guitar and owned a music store. This was about 1979. So he invites me to a Phil Keaggy concert. And I'm like - Who is Phil Keaggy? Oh my gosh! I was not the least disappointed!! Every Christian concert I've attended was an incredible experience!!
I have given away more of Phil's Plip Side cassette tape to my non believers friends than any other. I used to do large conventions, and I would use that tape to check sound levels, and the client always wanted to know Who that was. I gladly shared the wonderful Philly ❤️ Viva Cristo Rey 😎✌️
Hello! Thank you for the kind words. This clip came from a school project at MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University). We were tasked with orchestrating a live concert with Phil and I directed and was one of many editors on the final DVD. Unfortunately, at this moment the DVD is only for the students, faculty, and Phil. I wish that Phil would distribute it because as you know he is an amazing musician. Again, thanks for watching and for the kind words.
Another element that makes Phil a master is his variety of styles. I have CDs with calypso, techno, blues, classical and rock. He's only had 2 lessons in his life, and plays with only 9 fingers.
He does that harmonic/distortion neck bend thing at 2:13 on the studio track as well. I had just never seen how he achieves it before this. Wow. Thanks for uploading this!
This is wonderful - actually one of the best shot, best recorded recent performances of Phil's. His fan-base would eat this up - I know I'd certainly want a copy of this show. Who do we beg for this?
This drummer is spot on. Probably the best drummer I’ve ever heard that played with Phil. Not over or under played. Tight, in the pocket, awesome fills that complements the whole band with a perfect balance. Does anyone know who he is?
Dan Needham. He’s an acquaintance of mine. Have pictures of me and him on FB goofing around back in the late 80’s. Plays for everyone. Did a lot for Michael McDonald.
You guys did an excellent job on the DVD. All of the clips are awesome. Was surprised to see Jacob Lowery on bass. Great player as are all of the guys on here.

Colby, you're killin' me here. I've been following, photographing (check the 30th anniversary tour M&M DVD), and writing about Phil for many years. What can I do to get a copy of your DVD, which - in my opinion - is the best Phil DVD I've ever seen. You also might want to see facebook.com/express.image You nailed it, my friend!!
Hendrix died just a few months after Keaggy graduated HS. Keaggy's band was breaking out about the time Hendrix OD'd. Glass Harp did record their first record in Hendrix' studio. But it was shortly after Hendrix had died.

I think Phil was in a band called ‘Glass Harp’ back in the days of yore. Great to reconnect after 50 years. JZ
What a treat this is 🇦🇺👍🎸🦘
Nice to see/hear PK live with a full band.
I've listened to rock all my life and he is without a doubt as good or better than any current or past guitarists ever.

Great Phill Keaggy .
Martha from Brazil.
Exceptional guitar skills on a foundation of incredibly talented musicians.
Awesome! Someone looks like they're having fun!
Thanks 😊 for this. Always been one of my favorite players!

Seeing Phil live, was better than an E ticket ride at Six Flags. Praise God 🙏
I was literally thinking how great the sound on this video is when I read this. Amazing job!
Can you list the band members names?

Why doesn't he use the other finger?

Incredible! Thank you
What a day
Top shelf.
Nobody does it like Phil!
An absolute master!
Phil is incredible, as usual, but this whole band rocks, too.
Colby you guys did an excellent job on all of the Phil
So Awesome!! Amen

Спасибо вам Colby Graham, очень качественное виде и звук. Phil Keaggy грандиозный музыкант , виртуоз.
Love to have a DVD or Blu-Ray if possible, wow this great!
Thanks Brian..I need a little of the Revelator. Great worship
That organ player is also pretty talented. Maybe not as talented as Phil Keaggy, but Phil's no dummy. He surrounds himself with great players.
Mark Pettigrew SUPEr
Yes, it's a sound we rarely hear now.
Emerson, Lake and Palmer was a great keyboard band.
The Beck approach!😊

Phil.reminded me of Paul McCartney when he was Brown haired...sounds a bit like him too...fantastic music...👍
wow!
Love the Bily Preston, Outer Space Jam ;) @ 1;37
then at 3:35 he 'throws' to the other guitarist. Poor guy! I'd just smile and say - "You're nuts! You want me to follow that!?"
+Cre8tvMG I was gonna write it, but you said it better!
Haha, that is pretty much what his face said! Smart guy.
That's when you just pull a Marty McFly and kick your amp over. "Well, your kids are gonna love it."
Rhythmicons where were you when he needs you? 😅
Good cookin’ !😁
Phil is one of those insanely talented guitar players who could never face the fact they they should just shut-up and play their guitar!!!!
2:02 starts the solo. 2:12 is a kick!
wow
after all, it's a blues tune!
what and where is this DVD "On the Ph'lip Side". Haven't seen or heard of it yet.

Who are the players?
Tony Hawk laying the groove on the keys? lol
Phil: Take it Keith.... Keith: No thanks Phil.
Keith who? I have been trying to find out the names of the other players... do you know their names?
Jimi Hendrix was asked what it's like to be the best guitarist in the world and his reply was "Phil Keaggy is the best guitarist in the world"
Hendrix died just a few months after Keaggy graduated HS. Keaggy's band was breaking out about the time Hendrix OD'd. Glass Harp did record their first record in Hendrix' studio. But it was shortly after Hendrix had died.
The story was debunked by Phil himself years ago.
Keaggy Stanley flatbush beaver creek band northern ohio rocked the seventies. Sheffield village ohio
If you are a fan of Keaggy, check out Tommy Emmanuel, seriously.

Gene Miller
Gene is such an amazing vocalist! Nice to see him get a chance to play some guitar too. Was this a Nashville location?
Plus Kim Keys on vocals and shakers.
