- Watson Lake is the most popular place to hike in Prescott, Arizona. I got the idea for this trip from seeing many beautiful pictures of the lake on Instagram. In this video, I do an entire loop around this magnificent rocky lake! This hike is 4.5 miles and 367 feet of elevation gain. I label this trail as moderate because all the rock scrambling involved might tire you out. Like all the other lakes in the Prescott area, there is lots of really great bird watching. The hike is absolutely gorgeous and 100% a must-see when visiting the area.

Yeah I probably did need one more layer but that would have been more stuff to carry after it warmed back up. The Christmas tree was a nice touch! The rocky area was super fun and pretty to explore! I see you got your UK coat on 😂. Loved the decorated Christmas tree next to the lake and a nice white dot trail to follow. I think those ducks were not used to people coming down to their water for a close look, off like a shot lol. Great view of the lake from the top of the rocks and a real nice walk, cheers Alan
Yeah it felt cold 🥶 like the UK in the early morning! Now I know how you feel sometimes hiking lol. The Christmas tree was super cool to see!! At least 3 places in Prescott Arizona had the white dots scrambling which is a fun way to follow a trail! Yeah I did spook off those ducks unfortunately lol. p.s. you referenced Chiricahua National Monument, and as I had never heard of the the place, I looked it up; what a phenomenal place!! I presume that you've explored around there, as well?
@Taylor Isaacs yes I went there about 4 years ago. I spent a good 3 days there and hiked every single trail this National Monument had! It's a phenomenal place to visit and hike! I actually have a 5 video playlist of the hiking I did over there if you'd like to check them out.

what a cool opening to the video with the ducks in the lake and that background music and I could tell it was cold by the way you dressed, does it ever get cold enough to form any ice on the lake even a small thin sheet and that was some rugged terrain you hiked on
Glad the opening scenes came out well. I thought the sunrise shots of the ducks were beautiful. I like to hike early so there are less people on the trail but the cold is the downside of that. I am pretty sure ice forms on the lake since it does snow there in Winter. Thanks for watching brother. I really appreciate it as always.

Really cool hike with some scrambling! It was worth being a little cold at first :) I love the big boulders. We have yet to see Chiricahua NM. Prescott offers great hiking opportunities, I am definitely adding it to our list. Great choice of music, it almost sounded like the music from "American Beauty".
