I'm having trouble having the control menu pop up once they've made a selection? I went into my settings and checked off the "Turn on control points when selecting a curve..." box and have manually enabled control points as well, but I still don't get the control point pop up that allows you to manipulate your selection.
I'd like to see a more depth setup of your workspace and properties panel from a beginners perspective. It's one of the things that always gets skipped in these beginner videos. My arch professors would also talk about setting up workspace but never really explored it.
I remember back in the 90's a friend of mine had a 3D program which I can't for the life of me, remember what is was called. Anywho my friend said I am welcome to use the spare computer to learn that 3D software. And boy oh boy when I opened it up I was so confused with the 4 view ports. I could not get my head around the damn thing. Oh I forgot to say, I was an absolute beginner with computers. (But I knew how to play those Asteroid, Puck Man and Donkey Kong in the Café.) I didn't even know how to turn the computer on and off. When I was done looking around the computer, I just switch it off at the wall But I never learnt how the f to use the 3D program. But a few years later life is much better :)
I am new to CAD and just started following your fusion channel, but just recently decided to explore the other alternatives to fusion and thought that rhino might be a better option for the kinds of projects I had in mind. So imagine how extatic I was finding that you have a channel dedicated to it as well ❤. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, I can't wait to learn from you 🙏. I would love to see you compare the 2 at one point, maybe a series in which a product is designed using both software packages, just to see the workflow in each. Or maybe a series in which products are designed with a workflow using both, highlighting the strength and weaknesses for each.
Glad to see you over here at Rhino. Hopefully, you can teach an old dog new tricks. NURBS seems to be an important function for my surface modeling needs and Fusion doesn't appear to have that yet (from Meshmixer), so I'm looking forward to your teaching.
i have been watching your videos for awhile. I'm about to undertake a large building project with arches im unable to sweep in my current detailing package. This beginner video has come at jus the right time. Thanks.
So glad to see you're doing this beginners Rhino series as I start to learn this software. I've recommended your SketchUp Essentials to many of my friends because I find your tutorials to be the most concise and eloquent while covering everything important.
Thank you for creating a tutorial on Rhino 8! It’s been hard to find resources for the latest version, so I’m thrilled to complete this beginner series!
I learned a lot about Blender watching your vids. Didn't know that I'll also learn Rhino with you haha. Thank you, good sir. Your videos are well appreciated!
I noticed that when I click on the top I don't have the option you have in regards to the "panels". I just have "Show Toolbars" and other choices below that at the top when I right click
A video or two relating SketchUp to Rhino(8). One question some have is how to relate components to working in Rhino. And of course pushpull compared to pull in SU.
Is anyone else having trouble having the control menu pop up once they've made a selection? I went into my settings and checked off the "Turn on control points when selecting a curve..." box and have manually enabled control points as well, but I still don't get the control point pop up that allows you to manipulate your selection. Someone please help!!!
It felt you were about to say: with thee sketchup essentials.. but did correct your self.... :))) I actually have a question: if I have 3 screens can I set a different viewport on each one, so that the main one ( perspective ) is in the middle, and for e.g a plan on the right screen and a side view on the left screen. is this possible.
Hey, anyone knows if Rhino supports high resolution displays? For example 4K? I tried older version of Rhino with my new monitor and the UI is tiny, I'm already using 175% scaling in Windows settings and don't want to increase it any more.
Hi everyone! Let me know if you have any questions about getting started with Rhino in the comments below! :)

What program do you prefer for 3d - Sketchup or Rhino for architecture? Also taking into account layout for 2D production.
