Moonbyul's songs is type of song you listened on your way to work when you need a boast of energy while Wheein's songs you listened on your way home after a long day, or in the chill morning walk, or when you taking the warm bath. it gives you the fuzzy calm feeling.

i'm glad you said moonbyul's "lunatic" mv felt like a musical... in a way it was totally meant to be... the whole 6equence album is set up to be a movie about the entire journey of a relationship with someone, starting with the meeting/falling for them and ending with a breakup, covering everything in between. thankfully, most of the songs now have videos for them, though the videos themselves don't really match up together (she's written storylines for each song and everything between them, showing how it's all connected. these actually read like au fanfics, which has caused a lot of the moomoo fanfic writers much distress) as others have pointed out, one of the pre-releases, "shutdown", expressly presents a wlw relationship, the song itself being quite racy (in a very poetic way) while the mv is rather domestic, quietly normalizing the idea of same sex couples without trying to blatantly rub it in everyone's faces. she really is pushing boundaries that need it, but doing it in a way that'll help things get more easily accepted rather than make many more standoffish about it
That scene in the white room- even tho it’s not padded walls it’s like the idea of being in an insane asylum with the white padded walls. I feel like that scene is so symbolic. The writing is her saying over and over that she’s not crazy but as she rips the wall paper and strips it all away, it’s like she’s finally coming to terms and accepting that maybe she is a lunatic. And that’s ok. I feel like the beginning where they talk about someone being killed, it’s almost as if it’s referring to herself. She killed that part of her that was denying herself and she is a whole new person. Not sure if this is an addition to being lgbtq+ (given some other hints people have mentioned) or maybe just her saying it’s ok to be yourself and that’s her about out to the community to show her support. Whatever it is, she shines so hard in this comeback and she looks truly happy and like she’s having fun. Especially in her live performance, that’s a must watch! I’m so happy for and proud of her for this comeback. I’ve always loved her voice, but even she admitted she doesn’t feel she’s as strong a singer as the rest of Mamamoo. But I feel like her vocals are so strong in this song and I swear I can even hear her improvement. She sounds more confident in her singing. ❤️

I think you hit the nail on the head with Moonbyul- you can definitely see her marks on the things she makes even tho they are incredibly diverse (as you will find ;) ) don't expect the same sounds from her other solo stuff. Vs wheein tends to really fit her genre of this new jack swing/retro/funk/rnb for her solos and it's AMAZING. I just love that mamamoo is truly 4 artists that came together to make a supergroup
