Height-5.2' V.s.-31-24-34 Small medium sharp nose Square shaped face Little high cheek bone Slim cheek Broad forehead Sharp midium sized eyes Thin lips Very curly medium length hair Am I flamboyant gamine????
Aly!! I enjoyed this! Is there anyway you can do this with different “ stereotypical racial types” - I say stereotypical because not all people of color carry the same facial features- ? It’s interesting with your general African American body and facial types and how different they are in this chart! Would love to see different videos with a single racial group being chatted! So interesting! Love this video!
Privet Aly, I am binging your videos and sending them to my younger sister. What a life-changing rich awareness and understanding you have! Thank you so much for creating these amazing videos! Just a question, do you offer body/face-type analysis? I would love to send my pictures and get your feedback. Perhaps a Whatsapp group where we can also learn as a group and share? Spasibo tebe ogromnajo
My favourite part is that you don't make any one type seem superior to another. It's so nice and refreshing to be able to appreciate the diversity in beauty and own whatever you have.
Magi K I see your point but considering her videos focus on body shapes and not colours, race is irrelevant to the information Aly has to offer. I'm not even white and can take the benefit. If for instance this was a video on skin undertones and only featured a certain colour (eg. White people), we could say it's only intended to help white people and perhaps not so diverse. Still, it is probs best to assume the best and assume it's not due to any negative intentions, but just because that one race might be the person's area of expertise.
Wxwxw I think you guys are missing the point. It's not that she should actively be picking a diverse group of people, but if we lived in a utopia people would naturally include people of other races without thinking about it, because it would be the statistically probable result if it was done without bias.
Asian here. I dont have a problem with lack of "Asian representation" because it actually doesnt matter here. If you actually focus more on the ideas or what she is saying, the canvass is irrelevant. Why make issues when there should be none? She is talking about "curves" and "angles" something that can be present or not in any "race".
HEY GUYS! Sorry that I didn't use any other ethnicities like black women or asian in this video. This is because I created this faces chart for myself several years ago to understand the theory better, and then looking on people on the streets and guess their bodytypes. And I live in Russia so I see dark skin people here once a 3-4 months. So in my future videos I will add more ethnicities for sure. All women of other ethnicities go under one of these 13 categories as well. Tina Turner is a Flamboyant Gamine for example. And Fei Fei Sun is Dramatic. If you CAN'T find your bodytype or you don't see the difference between all these faces - no worries, that's can be quite complicated. Just keep in mind that you are beautiful in your own skin, and your body in itself is very stylish :)) Love x x x x
As a WOC, I say some of you need to stop being so triggered that she did the chart on white women. She lives in Russia, and she's mainly exposed to and most familiar to white faces. Would you expect a Japanese lady to have to go out and research western/other race faces just to be "inclusive" for their chart? It's a lot of work. It's fine to request a chart with other races, but don't have that mindless knee jerk "omg no diversity=racist!" reaction for every situation.
You know I was surprised that the map was all white woman with one exception, but I do understand that we are immediately drawn to what is familiar to us so I didn't think much of it. But regardless of race, any one can have these facial structures and relate to what she is talking about. I agree some people need to relax and not take this so personally when there is actual issues of racism out there.
Agreeing with the OP, but also glad that people are aware/attempting to be aware. Let's just make sure that we think cross-culturally and realize social and political climates vary by location and each has its focuses/oversights/progress waiting to be made. Intersectional! Also, appreciation to Ali for being receptive to the feedback, especially in light of tensions in the US (just assuming that's where some of the comments came from). Strangely enough, Rachel Weisz is quite petite! Also, I cannot tell if that's Naomi Watts or an old photo of a blonde Elizabeth Hurley. Now I need to watch the related videos because I have no clue what the point of this is, as much as I do love categorization. . . . Though maybe less so for people? The only thing that makes me a bit unsure is my pickiness about language, since using "masculine" and "feminine" reinforces ideas of binary gender and sex-moreso the latter here, since the topic is phenotypic traits-when both are arguably more complicated and neither necessitate hegemonic definitions. Okay, I'll go think elsewhere.
People always make something that has nothing to do with race, about race, nowadays. It's getting really frustrating, the internet feels like people walking on eggshells around each other now.
thank you for your human decency and not using this as a chance to grind the axe yet again ... I am so sad from being on the receiving end of constant shame and guilt when I have loved and respected dated and gone out of my way to appreciate and stand up for people of color my whole life ... thank you.
Aly is brilliant. Her eye for aesthetics is impecable. But her greatest gift is making all types feel beautiful. I feel more beautiful because of her and I find others more beautiful, too. I am appreaciating more the beauty in diversity. I used to have this cookie-cutter image of what a beautiful woman looked like, now there are many more deviations for me. I love this!
I think I'm about as yin as it gets. I used to dislike it, because I associated softness with being fat. I wanted muscles and bones. I would tweeze my eyebrows to look angular, so that I could have something that wasn't soft (and, it looked ridiculous). I also tried contouring...yah. Then, I grew up (though, people still think I look 16) and learned to like my softness. I let my eyebrows grow, because they were made for my face. I go to the weight room 6 days a week, am small, but am still "soft." And, that's ok. I like this video series because there is no judgement on the types. Also, it represents me better. My body has changed since I started lifting, but, it is still soft and mine. EDIT: I took the quiz and I think I am theatrical romantic. I guess it goes to show how my insecurities shaped my perception. EDIT #2: Some updates, four years later. This comment thread is still alive, haha!
The other side is always greener. I am most likely and FN and used to hate being taller, more muscular and broad than other women. It often makes me feel less feminine. I like my body for what it is now, I am strong, healthy, and can reach high shelves lol :D Learning my type helped me understand why I hate very femme styles with ruffles and lace. I know how to pick clothes that honor the lines of body rather than trying to create new ones.
e batdorf the funny thing is I'm more yang w very high cheekbones & a chiseled, pointy nose. So many ppl live it, but I've always hated it. I still do now!!! 😐
Don't hate it! You are like a model! This series has been so healing for me. I still catch myself, wondering how I can reduce my softness and have 6-pack abs or whatever, but that isn't going to happen. Just, listen to her advice on how to dress and embrace your body type. The grass is always greener, so don't waste your life hating your body. My nutritionist was talking about how our bodies are the one thing in the world that are always there for us, trying to take care of us, so we can't hate them! Take care of them. :)
e batdorf I appreciate this, but I still hate it, esp as I have a TMJ issue. B wet ingredients the "model" type isn't what it's cracked up 2be. I'm more concerned about health than appearance anymore, even I enjoy beauty!
U look gorgeous! Love ur glasses!!💗 This video is so bomb!! They should play it in plastic surgeons offices b4 people get surgery. This is why people get stuff done and just look plain wrong--the surgeon didn't understand these angles and body types. U should be out teaching these doctors so they don't mess up people's faces!💕
This video is amazing😍 I was waiting for more videos like this since years. You are truly an artist. You make us realize that there is no one form of beauty, beauty comes naturally in many forms. Thank you so much. 😍😍
This was my first video of yours that I watched. As a person who did major in Exercise Sports and science, also anatomy. This and your body type series are seriously the most informative and accurate Information ever. The whole pear, apple, hourglass and triangle are a sham. This is showing that everyone is diverse, yet also unique. Great videos. I think I may be a soft Gamine, but I am going to take your test tonight and see.
The amount of work and thought you put into these videos is amazing. And they always make me feel better about myself afterwards like I understand my fave and body and just my overall looks more thank you ♡
Ever since I discovered all your wisdom filled videos, it directed me to a better understanding of myself. I am Asian, but my Mom is a mix of Portuguese and Spanish and my Dad is Filipino Chinese Malay.. All of your videos helped me to love and realize my strengths as a Romantic body. I also begin to explore better clothes because of your guidance. With this face structure and angles I'm able to see more that I'm a mix of almost Romantic on first sight a little theatrical and on side view will look like gamine. Thats why my face is so small compared to my very womanly body. You're a blessing Aly... This is a clearer way of accepting what you already have and to work within that environment. You are such a wise and beautiful soul. Thank you!
I really like the bodytypes series ❤️ I'm flamboyant natural for sure. When I was a teenager, a lot of people said to me I should be a model. A lot of men also think I'm intimidating, haha. But I love the way I look ❤️ There, I said it 😁
Angel Heart People also tell me these things. Just last week a colleague of mine told me I have big calves and he asked me if I'm a swimmer. I told him that these "compliments" are not the ones that girls want to hear 😄 I used to be unsure about my body too. I also used to wear clothes that hide my broad shoulders, but now I just don't care anymore. I wear whatever I want.
That's great! I hope to love the way I look someday, too. I struggle with the way I view myself a lot of the time. Sometimes I'll find my face pretty and sometimes it's just very asymmetrical and boyish looking. Sometimes I think my body looks athletic and sometimes I think it looks chubby. It's very confusing, my brain never seems to settle on what I look like so it just kind of goes back and forth so it's hard for me to accept the way I look.
This was very helpful, especially the visual comparison! I was wondering if I'm natural, but seeing the pictures and considering I'm 177cm tall, I see soft dramatic fits much more. Thank you for your videos!
Your videos are like therapy for me, the way you speak of perceived flaws as beautiful features instead. You are making me nicer to myself with your words, so thank you so much for that.
Is there any medical data to back this up? Right off the bat, I'd say that people may just assume that women with romantic features are more "feminine" i.e. have higher levels of progesterone and estrogen but this could easily be a fallacy. In fact, I very strongly suspect that it is, but do let me know if you have any evidence to the contrary.
@@QueenBlond fat deposition is directly correlated with levels of hormones. That is known. So romantic types having the softest features and body lines (aka highest % of body fat) proves my point. Does this answer your question?
"You are beautiful in your own skin and your body itself is very stylish". I really like your word Aly. Your body type video makes me loves and appreciate my body and my own beauty more. Because i used to think that there is several parts of my body and faces that i don't like and that I envy another beautiful woman. But your video makes me known myself more..knowing my shape and structures and what styles would fit my personality. And makes me not hated my body anymore but embrace it because I know I could be beautiful in my own skin, body and styles.. Thank you Aly.
ChucksAreForShmucks aw that actually made me feel better, bc i started thinking that my body type (classic) was the least interesting one being so.. average? not one thing nor the other.
@@taritangeo4948 No it isn't actually. Classics/soft classics are always depicted as ideal thought historical and contemporary art; insofar as it isn't too edgy or abstract. I wish it wasn't (I'm Theatrical romantic) for personal validation, but classics are objectively better looking.
Start with your height and bone structure, are you short, medium or tall? Gamine and Romantic are short shorter than 5'5" and have small wrists. (sometimes slightly bigger up to 5'6" with squarer hands, sort of compact yet thicker like Kelly Osbourne or Tina Turner, but they still have a youthful look even when older, this is called Flamboyant Gamine ). Classic and Natural is Medium to Tallish 5'5" to 5'7", they are a bit of everything. Dramatic are tall 5'7" (171cm) and up with larger wrists, longer hands and feet even if slim. After height, think if you are very curvy/hourglass, somewhat curvy or straight. To tell if you are hourglass your waist is 10" or more smaller than the hip measurement. Straight figures might have a waist 2 - 4" than hips. Regular is in the middle. Looking at your face you appear to have an elongated delicate bone structure so I *guess* you are not a classic or romantic in the face.
Tom Jones Wow! This helps a lot. (Profile photo is Snapchat filter) But I would say that I am a flamboyant/gamine. Yes, I have an oblong face shape. I have a curvy pear-shaped body and I am 5'2 :)
Haha gamine flamboyant is youthful and never boring! I am short too with curves even when at my thinnest. I am theatrical romantic body with some gamine in the face.
Classic is average not short. Its a guide, going by the heights that Aly said in another video. This is based on psychology, humans tend to think of things that are usual, in the middle or average for something as "Classic". You could still be Classic if you were slightly taller but average in most other ways. Are you male or everyone is tall where you live? If you're male, think of what is medium height for your sex and that is a classic height. If you live in a country like Holland where people tend to be tall you might be average or classic for your culture, but viewed from around the world people would not see you as classic, they would see you as tall and therefore another type. Of course its not just height. The face comes into it alot. No-one would view a male dwarf with a strong jawline and rugged masculine face as "gamine" just because he is shorter than average. You would probably think of him as natural classic.
I would guess if you are 5'7" with a rounded face i would start by looking at the naturals. SN can have quite a lot of roundness in the face, but you can be a N or FN with full cheeks too. SD can have round elements to their face (angled bone structure with soft body, full features). Selena Gomez is small at 5'2" she is a soft gamine. Miranda Kerr is most likely a Soft Natural. Generally Gamines and Romantics are shorter than 5'7" but there are a few exceptions. Classics can go up to 5'7" 5'8" but by nature of their averageness normally aren't considered tall.
Aly, I've watched five of your videos in a row and I've learnt so much! I'm indian and I never thought I had a feminine face at all, because I don't have dolly eyes and I have a big fat nose. Now I learnt that like my body, everything in my face is soft, soft, soft. I get now why I look best with a simple cat eye to add some definition to the eyes (to detract from the nose) and I always look a bit "off" with full makeup and contouring. Thank you!
The face chart is a bit easier for me than my body. For me it can be kind of hard with my body to tell what is extra weight, what is perception, and what is reality. For the face it's a bit easier. I think I'm pretty Romantic. Everything on my face is pretty round and soft. The most definition I have is around my chin, my face is more heart shape than round or oval. If I'm not Romantic, I think I'd be Soft Natural. It's hard to tell for me, since I don't have smaller hips or larger bones. I think my bone structure, judging by my wrists and ribcage is on the small side and I'm only 5'4". I do give the appearance that I am taller than what I am, as I have longer arms and legs, and my shoulder are pretty straight across and proportionate to my hips.
Hi! With your 5'4" height combined with your long arms and legs and appearance of being taller, your straight shoulders and yet also lots of round, softness in your flesh, maybe you are soft gamine like Aly? With a heart shaped face that is both round and a little sharp on the chin?
I really don't look like a gamine at all. All the gamines I've seen, including Aly, have a proportionately larger head. It's part of what makes them look so petite. My head is smaller compared to my body. Dramatics, gamines, and classics are the only type I know I am not.
Maybe you're a combo. I have a classic body, with soft gamine face. Gamine clothes look awful on me, but I look great when I wear classic clothes. Yet strangely enough, classic Hollywood makeup (like 1940's-50's) suit me even though I definitely have a soft gamine face: bigger head, big eyes, small nose, rounded cheeks like Aly's, natural full lips (not big like Angelina's but not thin at all).
I'm a romantic, most southern-African women have romantic characteristics due to their khoi-san ancestry. The khoi-san, (known as bushmen, now natives of Botswana) were known for their short stature, big bottoms and rounded hips, yellowish-brown complexion, round face, and had small eyes. Your channel helps me to appreciate the body I was born with and have a sense of respect for it, instead of judging it from a superficial point of view. I hope your work has the same impact on other women around the world because our differences are beautiful and tell a story, something precious that should be respected and valued.
This is the first video of yours that I've watched, and I'm in awe! This is an outstanding video. I'm so impressed that I'm actually watching it for the second time. Thank you for sharing of your time, and expertise. I'm looking forward to checking out more of your videos.
HEY GUYS! I'm working on US visa now and I need someone who can help professionally or can give some helpful advice. If you know someone who can help - please write me on email - alvayar@yandex.ru
Soft-Natural here, with a touch of Flamboyant. 😉 Thank you for this explanation. You present this information in a very unbiased and well organized way. Your tutorials are superb!
I've been watching your videos to try and figure out what I am and I'm hung up in between gamine and soft gamine. When looking at the photos, my face looks more like Emma Watson's than like yours. I have a somewhat tomboyish face, always had, my mom cut my hair short when I was a child and I looked very much like a boy lol. Minus the big eyes and soft cheeks and my jaw line is definitely on the soft side aswell. People always tell me I look about 10 years younger than I am so check. But in my body I'm pretty soft, thin bones but short with very big hips, boney shoulders but soft arms, obvious pear shape etc.... In my face, the first thing I saw after you explained the features was sharp nose, sharp lips and soft jaw/cheeks. But since I appear to be in-between, I still don't know how to dress! lol Thank you for the informative videos, I'm passionate about aesthetics and learning a lot from you.
Kary Did you watch the other video first? She asks many questions and you sheer with a letter. You count the letters and she tells you what you are based on that. Then you come here. 👍
I'm a very proud Flamboyant Gamine! And indeed almost all the pieces on my wardrobe are so vibrant, lively and full of patterns and prints, I also dress very differently from most people! It's that maybe, kinda unconsciously, we end up liking what fits us more, right?! Thank you for the video, it's so amazing as always!!! Your fan from Brazil!
your knowledge continues to astonish me and leave me in awe!! there's something so inspiring about hearing someone talk so eloquently about a topic they're passionate about, and how they know every little detail and connection and nuance. love your videos aly!
Thanks to Aly's content, I have finally embraced my brand of beauty....I have always felt oversized and tried to cover up my Soft Dramatic frame with delicate tiny styles to make myself smaller. But now I realize I will never be Audrey Hepburn when I am built like Sophia Lohren. When I embrace those sweeping bold sensual styles, I look and feel feminine, beautiful and confident as opposed to she hulk bursting out of a powerpufff girl dress.
1) OMG, you are BACK! 2) You look SO lovely and your flowers are AMAZING! 3) Regradless of skin color, many women of different backgrounds can make a good guess as to type. Honestly White people can also have broad cheek bones, rounded noses and full lips so it's all good.
This is so fascinating! I never thought my face matched my body type, but now I'm seeing that it does. My nose is a little more sharp than romantic, but I like it. ;)
This was absolutely amazing!! What a fascinating breakdown of features of the face in relation to the body! I am blown away by your findings and comparisons. 10/10
This is again so helpful, I've been thinking about the faces and body types so much lately and then you uploaded this, haha. Also, you look so elegant, beautiful and neat. I love the cleanliness(??) of your look. ❤ keep uploading, I wait for your videos so much =)
I think i'm a theatrical romantic type...small body/hourglass figure, high cheekbones with big rounded eyes, but small mouth.. thanks for the video, I learned a lot!
Beth Naranjo - There's a site that describes each type more in-depth and it makes identifying your type SO easy. You can also email the writer of the site to identify your body type but it costs money so I wouldn't do that lol. But you really dont need to do that, read about all the bodytypes and youll know your type in seconds. Its called getthelook; its a polish blog but it has an english version :)
This video settled most my doubts, thank you! I'm more certain that I'm a soft classic now, and I love it because it matches the clean and balanced style I've always loved.
This is the first video where I actually figured out which typed I am!!! I’ve watched all the other ones and taken the quiz, but I still couldn’t figure it out. But, with your description of the face I can finally see what I am: Theatrical Romantic! I’ve already gone back and rewatched the other videos, and it’s so obvious to me now! These videos are really helpful because I love wearing all different styles, and it’s not like I’m going to not wear what I want if it doesn’t match the description, but I know when certain things look better than others on me, I just didn’t know how to really KNOW, you know? Like, why do I feel really good in one outfit and not another? But now I know it’s when I specifically dress for my type, the outcome is amazing! Thank you (and Kibbe, who I would never have known of without you)!!!!💁🏼♀️💕👠👗
I keep seeing people talking about the lack of diversity on the chart. My thing is if she’s gonna do a chart with minorities, she should make the whole chart asian or a whole chart with just black women or a whole chart with just hispanic women, etc. Because otherwise people get distracted by the differences in races that can kinda disrupt the category placing. For instance, if she rated a black woman and an asian woman also on this predominantly white chart, the black woman might immediately get placed into a natural category because as a race a lot of us tend to have broad and flat noses, which tends to be associated with the Natural category. And if she were to put an Asian face there, they might immediately get placed in the dramatic category due to a common feature of monolids that give the look of narrow eyes that would be associated with Dramatic. And within every race, there are differences. And if you have a problem with the diversity, I mean she isn’t the only person who makes Kibbe content. Some black women themselves on TH-cam make content for Kibbe for black women, and there might be the same for Asian women (I’m black so I haven’t looked for that myself). If the lack of diversity is bothering you so much, why not look towards a channel where they specialize in the Kibbe body types with representation that mirrors you?
Thanks to this video, I finally know why I have what I always thought was a weird mix of masculine and feminine features. Turns out I'm just a "normal" flamboyant gamine. Thank you, Aly!
Aly- I loved this. There was something that always felt 'off' about the terminology of this Kibbe system and I just noticed what it was! How come Dramatic Classics are not called "Flamboyant Classic" to be consistent with the Gamine and Natural terminolgy (or why isn't it "Dramatic Gamine" and "Dramatic Natural"). You see what I mean? It might seem silly but it explains why it's been so hard keep these straight!
This video was very good! Based on your description, I’m a soft dramatic... dramatic: lines/height, sharp nose/lips, bold brows, angular cheekbones, sharp bones in collarbone/shoulder/elbows etc romantic: big eyes, small hands/wrists/feet, curvy, fleshy cheeks, rounded hairline, small chin
These are the most helpful beauty vids on TH-cam! I didn’t even really have to figure out what type I am. Everyone has always told me I look a lot like Grace Kelly. And looking at that photo and the body type one, we have almost the exact same facial features. Everything is really balanced, nothing is too prominent. Same with our bodies. Ironically we’re both naturally blonde with the same eyebrow shape. Super helpful to officially have a style role model.
Love your videos but I do have a question. What if you're over/underweight? It's difficult to figure out what body type and face type I am because I look different now that I'm not at a healthy weight. I am exercising now and am trying to change my horrible eating habits but it's a work in progress. :)
Karny A I think the different types also gain weight/carry extra weight differently, so maybe think about the problem areas you have and where you carry most of your excess weight; ie, your tummy, hips, legs, etc? I know when we are heavier we tend to weigh more all over. But I know for me at least, there are certain areas on my body where fat likes to go. For example, I have extra weight that concentrates in my arms and my lower belly (hormonal imbalance weight, for example). Other women might experience a concentration on just their hips and thighs, or the whole torso area including the mid section and waist. Maybe Aly should cover weight gain for the different types more in depth. I don't know my type either because I'm not at my ideal weight. I think in my face I am more gamine/SG, but my body size is not small like the gamine. I am fleshier, and even at a small weight I tend to look fleshy still.
I was wondering the same, because I did the test for me now and for me before I changed weight significantly and I got different types. Close types, but different
Javiera Figueroa i meant more in depth information and comparisons like this one. I’ve done research and have watched her vids as well but I’m still very confused lol.
I'd like to know how the bodies gain weight too, I know she kinda did it in one of the other videos but more explanation and examples would be great. A lot of celebrities work out a lot so it's kinda unrealistic for most of us to compare ourselves to them ,
Another great video! I got a question. I know that everyone is different and is very strange to fit in every detail of a single category but, Is it possible to have the face of one body type and the body of other? Thank you very much!
Lara Muriel Tzvir I'm not Aly but I hope you won't be mad that I was the one who answered you :D Yup, it's possible to have influences from other types in your face. For example you can be a dramatic and have lots of yang in your body and face (as dramatics do) and be tall but still have, for example, very big eyes. And it wont make you a gamine by any means; you'll be a dramatic with big eyes! ;3
If you're one type that means you are that type in general, so no, you can not have the face of a type and the body of another type. Remember that this is not 100% accurate, it's where you fit the most, so just because you have a feature that doesn't fit the body type is not because you're another one.
Disney princesses (correct me if i`m wrong): Snow white SG Aurora DC Cinderella C Ariel/Belle G Jasmine TR Pocahontas SD Mulan SC Tiana R Rapunzel FG Merida N Elsa D Moana SN
I am really tall and slender and also pretty "straight" but I have a really soft face with soft lips, a small nose round cheeks. I look pretty much like a child in my face lol
If you are younger than 22 then there's still some teenage softness can be. Also you are probably dramatic or flamboyant natural. So some other features are not very important - we talk about the overall effect.
Aly Art I am not flamboyant natural or dramatic at all, my bone structure is completely different :) also my body looked the same for a long time now and I am underweight and really skinny (naturally) (my height is 175cm btw) but still have a soft face, my bones are really ovaly-round shaped. Its just how my bones are built in my face and how my fat stores; especially on my cheeks and my eyelids. I also have a really flat face, almost no cheekbones, my nose bridge is kind of flat and my nose in general pretty tiny. My lips are pouty and full and my eyebrows straight. I dont really have a face that would fit in any of these categories tbh, the closest is romantic. And if I look at my other female family members over the age of 22 I am pretty sure I'll still look that way when I'll be 40. Unfortunately. Bcos my face doesnt fit my body that well 😂
I am not flamboyant natural.I am an art major and I pay close attention to facial structures and the form or curve of objects and I know how strong the muscles in my face are visible. They are not visible at all even if I clench my jaw. I have a slender, long neck with no visible muscles or bones in it. I dont have a sharp jawline (I wouldnt even have a sharp jawline without all the cheek fat) because my face is rounded and oval.
Sam A yeah thats my picture 😂 but I am not asian tho. Atleast I dont know about any asian heritage in my family. Just mainly german, french, italian and roma. I have heard that I look kazakh a few times tho.
Like a lot of others in the comments, I have really struggled to figure out my type! I don't really fit squarely into one category. My best guess was that I was between Dramatic & Flamboyant Gamine. If you are confused about your type it's helpful to consider what the point of the Kibbe system is. It was developed by Kibbe to help women determine what clothing styles would be in harmony with their face and body type. I decided to do an experiment and try on style recommended for the different style types. If I try on a flowing, draped gown (Romantic!) I look quite bony. If I try on a sharply tailored suit (Dramatic!) it makes my delicate frame look even smaller as does a very chunky knit (Natural). My best look consists of clean and graphic lines but with smaller sculptural details or smaller scale graphic prints. Knits work too as long as they are on the delicate side. If you work through the clothing styles associated with the types you think you might be you will find a "sweet spot" where you look and feel your best. Remember -- We are all uniquely beautiful and the Kibbe types are just a framework to help guide us to our best style selves :)

Romantic classic

Hourglass
Small bones
Blunt and rounded
Sharp shoulder

Short waist long legs
My favourite part is that you don't make any one type seem superior to another. It's so nice and refreshing to be able to appreciate the diversity in beauty and own whatever you have.
Magi K you know, you can always look for your own examples if you don't like hers.
Still, it is probs best to assume the best and assume it's not due to any negative intentions, but just because that one race might be the person's area of expertise.
magi k
In other videos she mentioned black women.. this video was about lines and angles not about the colour of the skin.
Wxwxw I think you guys are missing the point. It's not that she should actively be picking a diverse group of people, but if we lived in a utopia people would naturally include people of other races without thinking about it, because it would be the statistically probable result if it was done without bias.
She chose women who were the most obvious examples of each body type.
Asian here. I dont have a problem with lack of "Asian representation" because it actually doesnt matter here. If you actually focus more on the ideas or what she is saying, the canvass is irrelevant. Why make issues when there should be none? She is talking about "curves" and "angles" something that can be present or not in any "race".
Louder for those in the back!
Exactly!
exactly, and this model can be directly applied to any type of race anyway.
Asian people mostly fall along the lines of round and classic
@@MissSushi123 I don't think this model applies to any type of race. For every race, they have to modify the model accordingly, but yea.
Thank you for hard warking
And please add Indian faces too, please Aly. You’re the best TH-cam Guru out there.
Ur a really great person thanks
Aly, do you do private consultations online? If yes, can one PM you? Cheers!
Hey! What is Monica Belluci's face type? 🤔
I will die not knowing my face shape.
I started the video thinking I had it figured out but by the ending I had 3 different options and I’M SO LOST
Me too I get classic the. Soft gamine depends if I think my nose is wide or my hips round
Lmaoo
Yes, I am soft gamine, natural and classic
I'm fairly certain I'm a Flamboyant Natural more in the body and Natural in the face.
Eurasia...?
You know I was surprised that the map was all white woman with one exception, but I do understand that we are immediately drawn to what is familiar to us so I didn't think much of it. But regardless of race, any one can have these facial structures and relate to what she is talking about. I agree some people need to relax and not take this so personally when there is actual issues of racism out there.
LOL! so true! and how totally RIDICULOUS to find that one stupid little thing to pick out and pick apart!
I am a black woman and I have learned sssooooo much from your videos. Please keep doing what you do
thank you for your human decency and not using this as a chance to grind the axe yet again ... I am so sad from being on the receiving end of constant shame and guilt when I have loved and respected dated and gone out of my way to appreciate and stand up for people of color my whole life ... thank you.
Me, too! This was my first lesson on the Kibbe system, and I am putting it to good use.
So what I learned today is that my face and my body don't fit one another.
same! :D
Same
yeah, i have really round features on my face but a super thin body and my legs are longer than my torso so i look like an awkward bobble-head
Lol 🤣 my face is soft classic my body dramatic classic, well this is what I think 🤣🤣🤣
Curvy body + Bird face = soft dramatic! I finally figured it out!
I am CT. The CONFUSED type.
😂😭😊 now what? Me too ...
This woman must have a Ph.d in esthetics.
I like my body for what it is now, I am strong, healthy, and can reach high shelves lol :D
Learning my type helped me understand why I hate very femme styles with ruffles and lace.
I'm more concerned about health than appearance anymore, even I enjoy beauty!
i am for sure romantic type and i also have TMJ...dont think it's a body type thing
Im laughing bc my name is yin and my face is literally like yin. Well, the asian version.
One thing I know for now, I'm not a dramatic.
je lains I actually think you have a very strong jaw by your pp
Is that a joke that you're not straight
You’re definitely some kind of gamine
Would you ever consider accepting pictures from viewers and finding their body type?
Caryn my thoughts exactly...
thinking the same
Would be grate
I wouldn't mind paying her for it.
my thoughts too!
Yes! Totally agree with everything in this comment
This is too complicated, I'm going to study math.
Thank you!
I got a romantic body and a romantic face ive always wonder why i dont have strong features
Sofia Palacios you're so luckyyyy
Im a romantic body type but have a very many face
I have a romantic face and theatrical body, I guess it's not that different
EK I wish I didn’t have romantic I just want a longer face shape :’(
I really like the bodytypes series ❤️ I'm flamboyant natural for sure.
I am almost a romantic, I think, but I am tall. Also, I am a man, so fuck my life.
I also like women with stronger features.
@@pagolainaki7175 there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a romantic man, maybe check aly's videos on male body types
@@Marina_7 yeah, I think I am theatrical romantic, but, at the same time I am tall, and people usually tell me I look tall, I am in a doubt. Haha.
Your videos are like therapy for me, the way you speak of perceived flaws as beautiful features instead. You are making me nicer to myself with your words, so thank you so much for that.
Fascinating how hormone levels will probably correlate with the diagram. Romantic type beeing the highest in progesterone and estrogen.
Is there any medical data to back this up? Right off the bat, I'd say that people may just assume that women with romantic features are more "feminine" i.e. have higher levels of progesterone and estrogen but this could easily be a fallacy. In fact, I very strongly suspect that it is, but do let me know if you have any evidence to the contrary.
i thought progesterone was an androgen (male hormone)? correct me if i'm wrong i'm not actually sure about this
@@crc6166 progesterone is a female hormone produced within the ovaries. It's also a common ingredient in birth control pills.
@@crc6166
To create estrogen, you need testosterone and progesterone
Grace Kelly is like the most beautiful woman ever.
Proof that classics are probably the most ideal type (I say this as a funky theatrical romantic with less natural beauty).
ChucksAreForShmucks aw that actually made me feel better, bc i started thinking that my body type (classic) was the least interesting one being so.. average? not one thing nor the other.
@@ax.8508 Yes! But Classics always look put together and beautifully proportioned.
It's a matter of taste
@@taritangeo4948 No it isn't actually. Classics/soft classics are always depicted as ideal thought historical and contemporary art; insofar as it isn't too edgy or abstract. I wish it wasn't (I'm Theatrical romantic) for personal validation, but classics are objectively better looking.
I'm curious as to what the overweight versions of these types look like
That would be a great video. I was having a hard time last year because I was overweight.
They would look overweight
They will be bigger and more bloated looking, as usual
Finally you uploaded new video😊 i miss your transformation videos
Thank you! Yes sure - I'm woking on some - soon!
This really felt like I was sitting in on a college course. You are a professor!
I don't know what I am 😔
(Profile photo is Snapchat filter)
But I would say that I am a flamboyant/gamine.
Am I the only one who still has no idea what my body/face type are, has no idea what this woman is talking about but can't stop watching?
JessieBanana I think you look soft natural too
I'd go with romantic or natural too, either way you're beautiful!
Brilliant! Would love to see a body graph version of this
Daryl Baboulis-Gyscek she has one
You're the best style teacher Aly!!! I keep coming back to your videos. Thank you!
love your glasses. Can you do a video on how to pick glasses for your body /face type please?

I swear I pay attention to the same things, we'd have so much fun together lol
I’m so happy that you uploaded again this „body type“ series. This are my fav kind of videos 💖💖💖
Soft-Natural here, with a touch of Flamboyant. 😉 Thank you for this explanation. You present this information in a very unbiased and well organized way. Your tutorials are superb!
Oh, you should definitely do makeup for the body types!
Textbook soft dramatic here and did not know that before this video so thanks!
I Will Never Unterstand this😢
Kary Did you watch the other video first? She asks many questions and you sheer with a letter. You count the letters and she tells you what you are based on that. Then you come here. 👍
I'm a very proud Flamboyant Gamine! And indeed almost all the pieces on my wardrobe are so vibrant, lively and full of patterns and prints, I also dress very differently from most people! It's that maybe, kinda unconsciously, we end up liking what fits us more, right?! Thank you for the video, it's so amazing as always!!! Your fan from Brazil!
I’m pretty sure I’m a gamine. A lot of people say I look like Emma Watson, and I can tell some of my features are the same.
So cool )))
your knowledge continues to astonish me and leave me in awe!! there's something so inspiring about hearing someone talk so eloquently about a topic they're passionate about, and how they know every little detail and connection and nuance. love your videos aly!
I don’t get tired of learning about body types
I just forgot what my face look like. Gotta look in the mirror XD
I am a flamboyant natural. It feels awesome! 6"2 tall woman here...
1) OMG, you are BACK! 2) You look SO lovely and your flowers are AMAZING! 3) Regradless of skin color, many women of different backgrounds can make a good guess as to type. Honestly White people can also have broad cheek bones, rounded noses and full lips so it's all good.
those orchids are amazing, btw! thank you so much for this video- your content is amazing. keep doing what you do.
This is so fascinating! I never thought my face matched my body type, but now I'm seeing that it does. My nose is a little more sharp than romantic, but I like it. ;)
i like the visual representation, i understood the concept of this video so easily
What’s the name of the celebrity that is romantic in the pic? She’s so pretty
B Hug Beauty thank you!
@@b_hug she is freaking beautiful I love her.
❤ keep uploading, I wait for your videos so much =)
Excellent as always!!!! Thank you!
Thank you! I watched many video on kibbe faces but you are the only one who made it simple, logical and understandable!
This is so interesting but I don’t know which type I am. 😂
We need a black version of this chart :)
I always end up learning so much from all your videos. Thank you so much for all your effort. 💕💕💕💕💕
I think i'm a theatrical romantic type...small body/hourglass figure, high cheekbones with big rounded eyes, but small mouth.. thanks for the video, I learned a lot!
This was very interesting but I still can't figure out my body type. Can I email you?
Sarah D same! I can't figure out which one I am. I've watched all the videos over and over I'm still not sure
Same, I go back and forth between romantic, and soft gamine...
Ash I like to think of it like this. If you have big eyes, a big head and are short you're probably gamine.
LeDubKitty I have big round eyes, my head is average (I think?) And I'm 5'4. So I'm not entirely sure
This video settled most my doubts, thank you! I'm more certain that I'm a soft classic now, and I love it because it matches the clean and balanced style I've always loved.
this is really interesting and confusing! I don't get it. but im fascinated
This is a pretty difficult project you brought on but very interesting. Wonderful job, I can see you love what you do.
TH-cams algorithm is so weird. Im not sure why this was recommended to me. Interesting still, does nothing for me, but it’s interesting
this is the video that finally got me to understand and see the different kibbe types
I'm 5'3, hourglass figure, quite curvy and fleshy... so my body fits the romantic type, but my face fits the soft classic one.
Maybe you are a theatrical romantic because they got thiner bones and there facial features are sligtly sharper than romantics
Thank you, Aly!
been waiting so long for this! thank you aly! 💕❤️☺️
*No kidding, you deserve NOBEL prize*
This video was very good! Based on your description, I’m a soft dramatic...
dramatic: lines/height, sharp nose/lips, bold brows, angular cheekbones, sharp bones in collarbone/shoulder/elbows etc
romantic: big eyes, small hands/wrists/feet, curvy, fleshy cheeks, rounded hairline, small chin
I'm happy to find out I'm a romantic type since I always thought of myself as potato face.
I thought this was going to be total bs, but wow, this is a really thorough explanation of a very logical classification system. Way to go!
Hey can you make a video on facial assymmetry because I really want to know more about it
I love your orchids! I’m an orchid grower, myself.
can you do this for bodies as well? Also how the bodies gain weight based on their kibble type
kim she has a series on that and she linked it in the box, or you can search it
Javiera Figueroa i meant more in depth information and comparisons like this one. I’ve done research and have watched her vids as well but I’m still very confused lol.
I'd like to know how the bodies gain weight too, I know she kinda did it in one of the other videos but more explanation and examples would be great. A lot of celebrities work out a lot so it's kinda unrealistic for most of us to compare ourselves to them ,
it'd be amazing to see you sort viewers into their masculine and feminine body types!
And it wont make you a gamine by any means; you'll be a dramatic with big eyes! ;3
Space Cat Thank you very much! You have been really nice. Greets from Argentina!
Lara Muriel Tzvir I'm a Soft Dramatic, with a yin/yang combo face but a soft, curvy body type.
If you're one type that means you are that type in general, so no, you can not have the face of a type and the body of another type.
Remember that this is not 100% accurate, it's where you fit the most, so just because you have a feature that doesn't fit the body type is not because you're another one.
Brenda R. Marmolejo Thank you Brenda!
I Love these types of videos Aly. You are the most informative beauty guru on TH-cam!!
As a character artist, this was super interesting. I think I'm a soft gamine but I'm not sure, haha.

Aly Art: My orchards are blooming like crazy behind me".
Thanks! I think I am finally getting the difference between theatrical romantic and soft dramatic.
Lo En just look at kendal Jenner she has a cute soft face and tall slender body and she's flamboyant natural .
Remember -- We are all uniquely beautiful and the Kibbe types are just a framework to help guide us to our best style selves :)
gosh I don’t know my type at all
I’m so confused
