Thank you so much for making this video! My daughter has went for weeks with her FOB not working. We went to autozone and they advised taking it to a dealer. I asked my son’s about it and they said they wasn’t sure either and may need to take it to a dealer. I found your video, watched it, went to Dollar Tree and found the battery and was able to change it in 3 minutes and for no more than $1.25! I can’t thank you enough because I hate to think what a dealer would’ve charged us to do this.
Thank you so much! I got a quote for 432.70 for a new key and "programming cost," decided to take a look if I could change a battery out and found your video, you saved me 429$!
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you for walking us through the steps of this. It worked out perfectly for me. I had no idea how to do it myself.
I appreciate this video. Thank you. I had 2 fobs. 1 fob was working and the other one did not. My husband took it to one of those alarm places that fixes key fobs and install alarms. Of course the guy said the computer of your key fob does not work is going to cost $300 to fix. I said that's too much. A friend told me once before fixing any computer, or fob Always change the battery 1st. 9 out of 10 times it's the battery. I bought the battery for my 2017 Toyota Corolla-CR2016 through the link of this video. I received it installed it and now both Toyota keyfobs work amazingly and from a whole block away. I was so excited. Thank you so much for this video.
Awesome! Both fobs stopped working. Bought two CR2016 batteries at Target for $5.49, one fob battery replaced successfully, one to go. Your clear, concise instructions made it happen! Thanks.
Thank you so much for telling me exactly how to do the job… And thank you for not telling me that your kid just graduated from kindergarten and there's a storm on the way and your dog is at the vet with a cold. Thank you so much.
Perfect instructions. A couple other vids have you using a screwdriver when you really should use a coin on the internal box for separating. Well done and thanks. My key is working again!
Thank you for the simple step-by-step explanation!! It helped tons. Also, thank you for sharing the Amazon battery link and the correct battery model version.
Thanks so much for this simple and clear video. Just wanted to let you know that your link now goes to Amazon's 1632 battery, which from what i understand wont work in the Corolla key fob, so you might need to update it. Thanks again -- looking forward to trying this when the new batteries arrive. 😊
This worked great for me, thanks!! And my car starts just fine, contrary to what the other commenter experienced. I have a 2017 Corolla and the battery replacement was Energizer brand (the original one I removed was Panasonic).
You’re awesome! Thank you!! I would have done this ages ago if I knew it was this easy. Finally did it now though because winter is here, and I’m afraid of having to use the key if the lock is frozen.
Bless your ❤ my car alarm kept going off and thank to you and your video; I was able to change the batteries on both key fobs. So far so good. Thank you so much.
Thank you! I just replaced mine 2016 Toyota corolla LE with duracell CR2016 battery. It worked fine. Just a side note, there was a wired strong smell when I opened the duracell new battery pack. I bought in Walmart
Just to note I have a Toyota Corolla 2006 and in New Zealand the fob key takes a CR 1616 battery. This is significant smaller in diameter to the CR2016. Thanks.
I figured it was this simple. Didn't think about the notch on the back end of the body though. Was wondering how I was going to take it apart without leaving claw marks.
Hey bro the link in the description doesn’t send us to cr2016 batteries. I don’t know if you got an affiliate payment if we buy through your link but I just wanted to let you know so that you get paid if you do.
I tried this. The key works for the doors but the car won't start any more. The engine tries to start but fails. The car battery is new (-ish), purchases in Feb 2019.
CR2016 Coin Battery 🪙 you need: amzn.to/3GgXWgZ
Thank you that worked great
This link took me to the incorrect battery size - CR1632
Link is wrong.
Your link is wrong. Its linking to a CR1632 battery when you say you need a CR2016. They are not interchangeable.

Autozone advised taking it to a dealer. lol! A new low in the history of automobile parts and service!

Perfect Instructions! Pay attention to every detail. Also... I used a DIME instead of a screwdriver and it worked GREAT!
There is a special place in heaven for you. Thank you thank you thank you❤❤❤❤
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you for walking us through the steps of this. It worked out perfectly for me. I had no idea how to do it myself.
Best part of the video is the warning about keeping the fob face down to avoid the buttons falling out. I have made that mistake before !

First video to pop-up under Google, & only video needed. Simple explanation, to the point. Love it.. Thank you.
DId it! Thx. 20 yrs ago, a repair shop or dealer charged $20 to change the battery. I had no idea I could do it in 1 minute!
Thank you, my son is going to be so happy I fixed his two keys for him, it cost just $4 for the two batteries.

Thank you this worked great for me. The battery was getting so low in the fob it wouldn't even pop the trunk anymore. Works great now.

Same, when I opened my Energizer 2-pack from Bunnings hardware store in Australia. Weird indeed!
Thank you very much for this simple instruction video!
Thanks man!! You're very helpful, much appreciated this video. Cheers!!
Thank you for posting this video. It was easier to replace the battery in the key fob than to get the battery out of its package! Lol. 😄
Thank you so much! I had no idea how to do this, and you made it perfectly clear!
I really appreciate the video! This was very helpful. No more manual locking for me! 🙂
I appreciate this video so much! It saved me a trip to the Toyota Dealer. Thanks for the step by step guidance.
Just to note I have a Toyota Corolla 2006 and in New Zealand the fob key takes a CR
1616 battery. This is significant smaller in diameter to the CR2016. Thanks.
And since you're in the Southern Hemisphere, the key turns backward, compared to us in North America.

I just got a set of 4 cr2016 new batteries from Harbor freight for just 3.30.Just letting you know if this is of your interest
Dollar Tree sells them - 2 for $1.25.
Thank you for this video!
For a 2018 Corolla, can I use a CR2032 Battery?
Sorry for the super late comment. I just tried, and the battery was too thick. The cr2016 is half as thick as the cr2023.
