Dodi the cat having a major seizure

- She has been epileptic for over 5 years and has to have her medication monitored regularly through blood work. . She was fine for over a year but starting progressing with seizures this week that having been getting worse. Time for her to be hospitalized again to get them under control.

Thank you. Her seizures are under control for now and she is doing well but she will have ups and downs throughout her life sadly.

There is nothing funny about epilepsy, and there sure as hell isn't anything funny about a seizure.
I have a granddaughter who is epileptic, and has had grand mal seizures. I can't imagine what it's like for her, but it's certainly not funny in the least. I was drawn to this video because a young cat that I am currently caring for, Harlequin, has begun having seizures, and that isn't funny either, for me or Harlequin.
You really should put this video in a different category.
I hope there was something that could be done for Dodi to keep her seizures under control.
Thanks for the video. It helped me to identify the cause of my young charge's seizures so I can pass the info on to her owners.
Right now, Harlequin will jerk violently, fall to the ground, her front legs stiffen, she curls her back so that her back legs are beside her head, her eyes turn glassy, as if she's in a trance, and she lies on the floor, still or twitching slightly for maybe two minutes, then, she will come out of it almost as quickly as she went into it. She then jumps back to her feet and goes on as if nothing had happened. This has happened once per day for the past three days--that I am aware of. If she has had other seizures, it has been while she was in another room, out of my sight.
It's a helpless feeling not to be able to do something to help; but there is nothing that can be done except maybe soothe her until it's over. Hopefully her owners will take her to a vet, get her diagnosed, and get medicine to help keep the seizures under control before they get worse. Until I witnessed Harlequin having a seizure, I didn't know that cats had seizures, or that there was such a thing as epilepsy in cats.

Hi Julie may I suggest you strongly look into CBD (Cannabidiol) oil for her seizures. Hemp CBD oil with no THC is legal in all 50 States and is extremely effective at reducing seizures, sometimes even more effective then the medicine from the vet. Because CBD oil is natural, it's safer. Please look into it for her sake.
thanks, I will look into it. She is doing well and seizure free for now but every so often, the meds level drop and she ends up like this
Glad to hear she's doing well and seizure free for now. It's so heartbreaking to witness them going through these seizures especially when there's nothing we can really do except insure they don't hurt themselves while having a seizure. There's also CBD oil with THC which is derived from the Marijuana plant in Cannabis friendly States which also works extremely well.

that is part of the seizure, they twitch, sometimes it can just be twitching without major seizure

Rent Now Properties, Seizures are the result of sudden bursts of brain activity where essentially the entire brain begins firing at once, feeding off of itself in a bit of a loop until it dies down. This, in turn, causes muscles to twitch violently.
