I've ventured out to many different scotch whiskies and The Glenlivet is always a must to return to. It's an absolute staple in my collection and I will never NOT have a bottle of The Glenlivet on in my collection!
Please do a video comparing old glenlivet 18 43% with new edition 40% in english. I am wondering how much worse is new release.
Yes please do. I just picked up a bottle of the 40% 18 year. It wasn't until I got home that I remembered it used to be 43%, as you mentioned in the video. Would be curious to hear some commentary on the differences and why Glenlivet made that change. Great video! Will be watching more of your content.

I had my first glass of the 18 this evening while at dinner. Amazing! So flavorful and rich as well as strong! Even my girlfriend who otherwise doesn’t enjoy whisky liked it.

Keep in mind that they were drinking from an older vintage bottle which was bottled at 43% alcohol. The newer ones are only 40% alcohol therefore they will not taste the same.
My wife gifted me this for Christmas. I am enjoying it right now.
18 year is fabulous. I have both the 18 and 21. Honestly for the money and flavor I prefer the 18. Another wonderful Scotch the the 18 yr Glenfiddich.

I bought a bottle, I'm aware it no longer ages as it's no longer in its cask or however it's spelt, I buy it in 2024 would it be any more valuable or better drinking 10 years from now if kept in good condition or would it be the same if I just bought it in 2034?
Would love to hear your opinion about the most recent version of Glenlivet 18, the “batch reserve”.

It's indeed a great bottle! I finally made the purchase of one yesterday and opened it up for a glass last night! Poured 1.5 once of the Whisky and what a delight! You will also enjoy ! Cheers 🍻

Question from a whiskey beginner: I wanted to buy the bottle of Glenlivet 18, but noticed there is only the new bottle with 40% ABV. Are these 2 bottles the same whisky with only difference that new one is mixed with more water or are they 2 completly different whiskies?
In the course of the design change of the 18-year-old Glenlivet, the alcohol strength was also reduced from 43% vol. to 40% vol. to bring it in line with the other quality. The taste is more or less the same

Getting this one in november/december. 70/80 $ for this 18 yo whisky, good price.
$70-$80? Where? The cheapest I’ve seen is $110. I got mine for $130. But it’s well worth the price.

I bought this based on your review, I was extremely disappointed, perhaps its the low ABV, not what I expected from an 18 year old
That's a shame to hear! The only way we can explain it is that the Glenlivet 18 year old was relaunched a few years ago, lowering the alcohol strength from 43% to 40%. 3% alcohol may not sound like too much at first, but it can certainly influence the taste of the whisky. In this video we still had the Glenlivet with 43% in the glass, if you already have the newer version, this could be the reason for the different taste.
