The multiplayer was THE REAL game. There's a reason all versions of this game, even the OG NDS version, had it and full-on bot support. It really feels like an old 4 player dreamcast party fighter like Spawn: In The Demons Hand, Heavy Metal Geomatrix, and Power Stone. The closest thing we got to this nowadays is Gigabash, which might as well be considered a Godzilla x Ultraman Crossover game at this point.
I’ve owned every version of this game, and the DS version was drastically different to the other versions. I don’t remember there being a multiplayer mode at all on that version.
I have four copies of the 3DS version. It's just a port of the Wii version. But the NDS version only had the story mode. Nothing else. For me I've completely 100% the 3DS version of the game, on all four of my copies too. It's fun as hell. It's a lot better with the soundtrack playing too.
I played this game on the Wii U and it was amazing. I honestly would buy it again If there would be a remaster for PC. It shows that games can be simple and fun at the same time. I loved it.
