Action Woodless Pencils Review - Comparison with Stabilo Woody & Faber Castell Watercolor Pencils

In this video, I review the new Action woodless pencils and compare them with Stabilo Woody 3 in 1 and the Faber Castell watercolor pencils. From packaging to color payoff and blending, I'll cover all the details you need to know about the new Action Woodles Pencils. Are these budget-friendly pencils worth it? Let's find out!
Main findings:
Packaging: Useful for keeping pencils organized.
Color Palette: Limited to 12 colors with some essential colors missing.
Color Names: not always representative for the color.
Color Payoff: Varies; some colors are more pigmented than others.
Blending:
With water: Pigment spreads easily. Two colors blend easily together.
Drawing on wet areas works well.
Comparison with Stabilo:
Precision: Action is more precise; Stabilo applies patchy when dry.
Application: Stabilo covers large areas quickly due to its big tip.
Blending with Water: Both blend well, but Action gives more pigment.
Blending with Each Other: Works great.
Taking pigment directly from the pencil yields more pigment with Action pencils.
Smudging: Stabilo smudges; Action stays put until activated with water.
Comparison with Faber Castell Aquarelle:
Precision & Pigmentation: Faber Castell is more precise and pigmented, but the difference is minor.
Blendability with Water: Faber Castell wins; Action becomes patchy on the second application.
Combining & Blending: Both blend well together.
Conclusion:
The woodless pencils exceeded expectations, especially if you are looking for a vintage or botanical color palette.
Love the precision of the tip (which can be sharpened) and looking forward to using them more.
I plan to combine them with my Stabilo woody 3 in 1 for a broader color palette.
