    Thanks so much for a so specific video. I’m a CRF 250 Rally owner and your channel is the best I found to make the modification in DIY mode! The seat concepts videos are super important for me as taking one of those to Spain is super expensive, I have a upholstery doing it as close as possible to original seat concepts.

      That's so nice to hear! At the time I did all these nods, there were almost no information to find on these topics. So I decided to make these videos so maybe they could be at any help for others. :) Thank's for the comment

    Excellent video. So many people don't realize that the springs are different

      Charlie Gates ⚙️ Thanks! I just wanted to make a video that showed all aspects of the Öhlins upgrade, as I found no other myself. Glad you liked it!

      @@rallynor how difficult was it to get the fork legs in the original mounting position? I don't see any lines or anything on the legs

    • @rallynor
      @rallynor  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Charlie Gates ⚙️ There is no guide lines in the fork tubes. All you need to do is to make sure your end caps riser above your triple clamp so that the fork tube is flush with it.

    I'm soo exited about your upgrades, just
    ordered the yss shock myself, and considering the Öhlins springs too.
    keep it up!

      Rasmus Uhrskov ⚙️ I am very happy with my YSS shock, and it gave “Lara” new life. But after I also did the Öhlins upgrade, man.. she totally rocks! Heading out for some tracks tomorrow. I recommend that Öhlins upgrade. Thanks for watching!

      rally nor well now I have to Buy the öhlins springs 😅
      How about a video titled suspension performance review? Could be nice to hear your input on the Öhlins springs and yss shock combined 👍

      Rasmus Uhrskov ⚙️ I just posted an update on my FB site. My camera/phone failed this weekend, so I couldn’t make any video as planned. I’ll get back to that as soon as I get sorted out.

    hi. i wanted to do this upgade and rear damper too, but i didn't. i'm only 1,65m / 5,38ft and my weight is only 64kg / 141pounds(lb). on the first trips with full gear, the suspension of my rally felt very "stiff". i made a test drive last year on a 2017 model and wondered about the difference when i picked up my new bike (2018 build) weeks ago from the dealer. i can't wait to see a review from your bike when you're on the road. greetings

      wuppercruiser ⚙️ Hi! I guess there’s no standard setup to fit every rider, this will always be individual depending on weight, hight and driving style/ground. If you’re for the most part using your bike to commute ore doing your main riding on tarmac, there’s no need to do any upgrades. However you might want to lower your bike a bit if you don’t feel comfortable with the height of your bike. This is all about how you use your bike. 👍
      Hopefully I’ll get my phone back from the workshop today, and I’ll be ready to make some more content soon. 🤞My camera broke so I had to fix it 😠 More to come! Drive safe buddy!

    How do you like the ohlins kit? I just did a racetech spring for my rally and it feels pretty good for me but I splurged on an ohlins stx shock absorber for the rear.
    Also subbed and looking forward to seeing some riding videos soon.

    • @rallynor
      @rallynor  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jonewall-stackson ⚙️ The Öhlins are great! found the combination with the YSS shock to be very good too. Even tho the Öhlins are a bit more expensive then the others it can be excused, coming with two springs and top caps. The ability to let air pressure out vill save your sealings in the long run.
      The STX should be awesome, and one should always upgrade both front and rear to get the best out of the bike.
      Sorry to say my camera/phone broke down last weekend when I was about to make a vid... So I’ll have to find a solution and come back with a new vid ASAP...
      Thanks for sub!

    What spring were you removing? I didn't think there was a spring in the left tube. I'm assuming it was another aftermarket spring.

      Andrew Chavarria ⚙️ Theres only one spring, and the one I removed was the original.

    Are there any difference in riding experience compared to the oem front fork springs?

    • @rallynor
      @rallynor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a huge difference. Massive improvement even on the tarmac.

      @@rallynor does it make more stiff and more uncomfortable?

    • @rallynor
      @rallynor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ilham riyadi ⚙️ Not at all. With the Öhlins kit you’ve got the option to choose between two different springs (both in the same kit), and as you may know the OEM spring is soft as a pudding. Like for example when breaking in to a corner with the Öhlins your bike won’t dive in like the OEM. The effect of that is huge; 1; your light beam won’t point straight to the ground 2; your handle bar won’t disappear making you follow into a uncomfortable position 3; Your bike will keep up a better fork angle, making it much more controllable and precise. I highly recommend this upgrade.

    Good day, Thank you for you video.
    Please can you help me with some advice. I see you only replaced the factory spring. In another video the guy left the original spring in the right fork and added a Race Tech spring to the left fork.
    Could you please let me know what the pros and cons are between what you did and what he did. His video link is th-cam.com/video/eRnb2rPTAHw/w-d-xo.html
    Sound advice would be much appreciated.

      Lennit Els ⚙️ Hi there! I can’t say what I what the difference is between these two upgrades, nor how they will behave differently.
      BUT this I can say; the way that the L/R forks are built is quite common, and so are the upgrade solution of (for instance) Öhlins too, just changing the original spring on the right side.
      I did an upgrade like this (Öhlins) on a R100GSA 1996mod once, and the only time I felt like missing a spring in the other leg as well was riding two up with 200L luggage! That says a lot.
      Therefore I can not tell you what you should do, but remember the the Öhlins kit comes with two different springs enabling you tho choose spring load for your demand. Good lucK! 👍

      @@rallynor Thank you for taking the time to reply. Appreciate it. I'll be going the route of the single progressive spring. Just strugging to find someone who will ship to Kazakhstan.
