Really great tips and great explanations! Your explanation about how to calculate the size of the fabric you need for your piece is WONDERFUL! That’s the first time I understood how to do that! I finally got it!! Thank you !
Welcome Sian. Your video was well done. You spoke clearly, and at the right speed to make it easy to follow. The demos were spot on. Thank you for all the tips. Good Job.
Thanks for the tips. I used to do a lot of cross-stitching but haven't done it for a few years. These were great tips to help me jump back into the craft. New subbie here!
Yes of course - you can find the pattern here: www.caterpillarcrossstitch.com/collections/cross-stitch-a-longs/products/hello-pumpkin Thanks for watching!
I’m doing a stamped cross stitch pattern. How do you protect the stitched area as you stitch across a large pattern? Since the bottom usually has the symbols for the color of threads, I guess I should start at the top and maybe roll it as I stitch downward. No one seems to know.
Sian I’m so HAPPY for you!! You did a GREAT job with this video!! But that doesn’t surprise me!! I’ve been following you on Flosstube since you started and you are one of my favorites!! Can’t wait for your next video!
I need some advice. I started a project two years ago, maybe even longer than that. I had to put it away as my life became too busy. I recently picked it up again and noticed a distinct difference in the shade of black that I used then and I don't know how to obscure it. The recent black floss is more shiny and deeper than the one I started the first part with. Other than frogging the first part (oh nooo) what can I do? Its a big picture and i just want to finish it. Please tell me how I can solve this problem? Thank you so much! Margaretha
I have been looking for a channel too help . How can I stop a gap between two cross stitch . Now you have answered my Question , what is the best way too start a new thread and specially if you have too changed different colour but on the line same line. Thank you answered my first question
You can have lots of needles threaded to different colours at the same time if you are doing small numbers of stitches. Look up ‘parking’ for tips on how to manage this process. It saves re threading your needle all the time.

Hi, we have a great video on different ways to start your cross stitch! :)
I would never eat or drink near my project and hands are always clean when handling 😳
Thank you
You’re welcome x
When following a pattern do you complete one colour at a time or keep changing colour as you follow the pattern?
I'd say this is personal preference. You can do it either way :)
You can have lots of needles threaded to different colours at the same time if you are doing small numbers of stitches. Look up ‘parking’ for tips on how to manage this process. It saves re threading your needle all the time.
I have a question - is there anything I can do if I didn't leave enough fabric on the edges for finishing?
That really depends on how little room is left. Some people cut some aida and sew it on to give it a false edge :)
yea I did enjoy your video.. like... who would've thought. already subbed
Glad you enjoyed!
amazing video but i couldnt understand the size part
Which part? We'd love to help!
But what if you are lift hand
Being left handed doesn’t make any difference in my experience (I’m a lefty and my nana taught me to cross stitch and she’s right handed)
👏👏
