Tipper, you're such a good daughter to your momma. And you raised two good daughters of your own. You're all very inspirational. Prayers for Granny's garden! God bless!
It was so kind of you & Corie to put in the effort to see that Granny's garden grows well. I hope her garden will begin to thrive & she will get the pleasure of harvesting a bountiful garden this year. Hugs!
My mother was evasive as well. A very private, quiet, person. But loving, gentle, and kind. Granny is blessed to know she has loved ones she can count on. I hope her garden grows!
Bless little Granny’s heart! Her rigging and planting in those buckets is awesome. She has good garden sense. I’ll bet the fertilizer y’all put in will help her garden grow. I know Granny loves green beans and all the fresh stuff. 💔🙏🏼🐾🙏🏼💔
If you plant marigold's they help to keep bugs away. just a suggestion. Marigolds are known to repel bugs, French marigold works best against bugs1Note: Marigolds have a scent that will keep pests like mosquitoes, nematodes like cabbage worms, and other pests away2. Plant marigolds to attract beneficial insects that attack and kill aphids. Ladybugs are especially fond of aphids. Best wishes!!
Enjoyed watching you clean up and work in Granny's garden. I've been putting in and tending a small garden for my parents the last few years, since they're in their late 80's now and can't really manage getting things worked up and in the ground anymore. My family has deep Appalachian roots and gardens are just a part of our history, and the idea of mom and dad not being able to look out the window at blooming bean vines, tomatoes, and cucumbers just doesn't feel right. So few people around here garden anymore, but I'll keep one going for them and also one at my home as long as I am physically able. It keeps me grounded in my family history.
I’m soooo jealous! I’ve been laid up for months with various su& orthopedic /arthritis issues so didn’t get to planting. John didn’t have the energy either and I’m not going to push him. He had a quadruple bypass so I always worry. Anyhow there’s nothing better than veggies from the garden. I can always skip meat but never the veggies!thanks so much for sharing all your work. I know it’s a bittersweet Harvest for you all. But I think I saw grandma peeking through the trees as you poked around in the garden. She’s always with you and you’re in my thoughts. Have a wonderful weekend! XO Michelle in Boston
Tipper you look like my mom when she was young. She passed away in 2016 at the age of 96! My husband says you look like her too. Every time I see you it reminds me of her.
One tip on granny's garden. Get a truck load of leaf based compost. Mix 50-50 with the native soil. Just till it in or use a digging fork. We have red clay. Once I did this, we grew like crazy. I use 10 10 10 as side dressing at a teaspoon per plant. You can actually improve you soil in one season, but you have to buy the compost instead of making it. You need more quantity at once.
I so enjoy your videos they're so heart warming, reminds me of my grandma's garden. I am in southeast Missouri and our traditions are much the same, I cook good old southern cooking food just like you. It warms my heart. Thank you
Thank you for all your wonderful videos, makes me feel like I'm right at home with y'all settin' and sharing your friendly , southern hospitality! Y'all are genuine gems out there in your beautiful home places 🏡 ❤ Hopefully Granny's Garden takes off! Your gardens are amazing!! Ty for your love and kindness, you always keep me company 💗 warm wishes and blessing from. Southern "Appalachia " Ohio!! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Hopefully with what yuns did to help Granny's garden it will do better. We always grew a garden. We also grew tobacco until i was in my late teens. My brother bought my Grandpas cane mill which hadnt been used for many years. We restocked it, got rocks from the creek to lay up the furnace for the pan for cooking off the cane juice. Mom and Dad showed us everything from growing it to boiling it down to molasses. It was nice to see all the people that came by when we were running the cane through the mill and cooking it down to molasses Some were kin folk and some I had never seen before. Some would lend a hand to whatever needed doing . It turned out to be more like a reunion than work. I'm thankful for everything Mom and Dad handed down and taught us.
Praying Granny’s garden turns out. We’ve not had a lot of rain in our portion on NC. I’ll watch an impending storm as it gets close and it just falls apart. Glad y’all didn’t have any damage. Take care and God bless y’all. 😀❤️
We have had the little baby ticks so badly here in Sebastian county Arkansas. I will look down and feel something crawling while I am outside working in the yard and there is one of those tiny little things. Gives me the heeby geebies!!!
Great video..thanks as always! You know as I watched this video I could realize Corie is just like her father.....not only looks but mannerisms too. (In a good way, I like them both). I have a lot in common with Mat, I'm a country boy, would rather fish and hunt than eat when I'm hungry and grew up in the same ways as you all. Not living that country life these days but I miss it so much. You all are so lucky.
There are people still compassionate & kind today & you & your families are among them. As kids what was the old saying while holding a grasshopper to get it to spit tobacco? The riddle is somewhat in my head but I can't come up with it. ;) Prayers for Granny & how her contrary garden grows. 🏡
I have a problem....... Every time I see your lush beautiful garden... It makes me..... Jealous! I fight it. But I still find myself envying your garden. I know you have all put in effort over years... To get it where you want it... And I haven't made that level of effort... And still... I'm jealous... Lol.... Y'all are awesome. Hands down. Precious❤
Corrie has a lot of her daddy's mannerisms. Happy you got a lot of work done & Granny must be so happy that you were able to help her! Love the Popsicles visits!😊
My daughter loves outshine popsicles. I buy them at Walmart for her and drop them off to her after she gets off work every now and then. She’s still my baby girl at 36
We are nearly mid winter here in New Zealand. We had a skiff of snow in the weekend past. The strong winds were a tad scarey. One night I could not sleep as I was sure my caravan was going to take off. A bit like a 😊train.
Looks amazing!!! I’ve searched vigorously for a Wesson measuring cup like yours… to no avail! Hopefully I’ll run across one someday! Love the videos and your family! Y’all are what families are supposed to be made of! ❤
We are in the Raleigh Durham area. Amazed at how far ahead our garden is than yours. It was a super slow spring here. Just getting tomatoes. Our watermelons were slow, several died because of the cool spring. But we are making pickles like crazy, canning white half runner and Kentucky wonder pole beans.
I saw those ice pops yall eat at the grocery. Outshine rang a bell when I read it. I got the variety pack w/lemon lime and tangerine.I want to try those SPFs (coconut) next. ;-)
Spotting the kitten you mentioned, we have three Feral Cats that live around our Log Cabin. We sit deep in the woods and have always had plenty of Feral cats through the 44 years being here. I use to catch them in live traps and take them to the river and let them go there to live always in the same spot as cats live in colonies. I love your garden and pray that Granny's garden grows leaps and bounds in the next few weeks. Hawks. we have had a pair of hawks that live around our cabin for years. Has to be the continued off spring. Chickens, highly intelligent and very social. As for the ticks. !! Best cure for them is a family of opossum. Opossums are the best for getting all the ticks and bugs our of your yard, plus you garbage. :) Sending my Love and God's blessing upon you and yours.
It was nice to See how Much more the Garden has grown Tipper.. better let Katie & Nick take the grasshopper 🦗 fishing before they eat up your garden... they are so destructive. Glad Corie could help You with Yours & Granny's garden. Pray Granny gets lots of Beans, she & You have Always said about her cooking them up or canning some. Oh how I wish we would get a load or two of rain. So badly needed. Do you All ever make Homemade Ice Cream?? I love homemade pineapple 🍍 ice cream sweet special memories of long ago...SO YUMMY!! GOD BLESS & Glad Corie could Share Popsicle time with Us.. watch those little seed ticks or Any ticks so many ticks this year and people are coming up with tick borne illnesses that are SO Serious..one of my Great NIECES even has the one type.. TAKE CARE & LOVE TO ALL!!!
Y’all’s gardens are looking good. Praying that granny’s garden will start doing better. Be careful with those ticks, they can cause some health problems for sure. I’m not a pineapple person either. Thanks for sharing. God bless you all. 🙏🏻😇🙌🏻❤️
Your garden is so green and healthy. I believe a lot of our stuff got stunted with the cool mornings we had a while back.We have got the heat now. We haven't tried pineapple yet. We tried strawberry it is good. My favorite is coconut, Doug's is grape and Daniel's is strawberry. We haven't tried peach and we saw watermelon in the store. Hope Granny's garden gets to growing better. We had a big storm Saturday and some trees come down in the woods. Chicken watching is so interesting. Yall have a blessed night.
Corey I agree I hate the store 30:44 bought pudding. I love making pudding and eating it warm!!! Growing up I remember ticks Im scared to death of them and the diseases they carry.I wonder if that skin so soft would help. Good luck. So sweet of youall to help Granny. My Granny had a garden and I love the idea. Ive never got into it myself for alot of reasons but not having confidence is one of the reasons. Watching your channel has helped especially seeing your Cherokee purples. My son grew those one year and it was delicious😊
You might want to check the mineral content of Granny's soil before adding any kind of fertilizer; if there's a depletion of one (or more) and/or an overabundance of an/others, you might make is worse by adding more of what you don't want.
I've had so many tick bites these past few years, always allergic reaction. I need to ask my Doctor for the blood test , my fatigue is getting worse😢Praying u get the right treatment 🙏
I love seeing all the green! Not much here in Tucson. Mary's home from the hospital, Dr. said she would have died from the cat bite if she hadn't come in.The hand is still big and she can't use it. Thanks for Prayers. God Bless. Jean 💗
I recall when I was a little kid my parents used to love Sussex IceCream. My favorite flavour was Pistatio and when that wasn't available I had Lemon Ice cream with big chunks of lemon pudding mixed in. So good gals so good.
It’s always enjoyable to see y’all tour the garden and just talk like we are all there with y’all. Hopefully the extra fertilizer will get Granny’s garden the kick start it needs to grow and produce!
The soil has been low in Magnesium for many years so Ebsom Salts to the rescue. sprinkle and water every 3 weeks. You will be amazed at such a lush green garden. I did this with Rose bushes and the leaves were the most beautiful forest green the best blooms I had ever seen. some were 5" an 6" diameter blooms. Good Luck.
My brother has a farm in Missouri and he has a bunch of guinnea hens running around because they love to eat ticks. He said they do a really good job keeping the tick population down.
Hi just saw you cooking squash and wanted to pass along a tip. Just clean the skin well ,cut in half and clean out ( save the seeds to bake ) then law on a cookie sheet add water about ¹ inch in the pan to protect from browning and bake until done. Then pull the peeling off and mash. So easy and tastes better. Then mash and add things as you like. I do this with pumpkin then measure out , put in freezer bags then flatten out. Freeze to use later.
Wow!!!! Your garden looks amazing! Beautiful & lush. Happy for you Tipper. Hopefully Granny’s garden will improve with everything you did. I think you’re right about her magic touch. Those beans under her clothesline!!!! Crazy, right???? Hope y’all didn’t get bad weather this afternoon. We got a few little showers & could hear the thunder cover toward the west. Be safe, see ya soon. 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Tipper you and Corie crack me up ... l felt l was sitting with you in your yard.. lol ... When l see your girls sitting with you l try and just can't ever figure out who they look like. It's more you to me, however, Matt is thrown in there. Very pretty young ladies. For sure they look like one another ... enjoy your weekend every one.
Love the great content. Hope the gardens grow and become super bountiful. Ticks can be such a pain, I know 2 people with Lymes disease, which really emphasizes the reason for prevention and good tick checks at the end of being outdoors.
My grandmother always taught me to air the soil. Till round plants with hoe gently. It's funny how we do as those elders we watched did. I didn't pay particular attention but gosh, I surely do reflect back and reenact it all. I retained tons without even trying. Thank God for grandparents The peppers I started from seed or the ones I got at lowes are not doing well at all. The one big pepper plant I over winter ed from 2022 has already produced peppers tho. Wonder if Epsom salts would help the weaklin? We had that wind. Tree down. Big mess around here. Good to see you girls. I needed cheerful faces and voices today.
Your Garden is so very beautiful. So happy for Ya'll. I didn't get to do a garden this summer, so I'll just take pride in watching Ya'lls Love your channel and family 💜. So Sorry for your loss I know God will bless your broken hearts . Prayers for Granny's Garden.
You’ve convinced me! I’ve been watching you for a while….. last time I went to Walmart I purposely went to get some of your popsicles! Lol. Very good! I’ve also got hooked on your blog. Known about it quite a while, just for whatever reason hadn’t visited it much to read. I started the other day and was totally hooked! I’ve gone back to your first one in 2008 and have worked my way through to mid 2015 so far. So many I’d have commented on it it hadn’t been so long ago. There’s some I haven’t read completely but I’ve looked at them all. Especially loving all the recipes and music. How blessed you are to have had the forethought to record your pap and family music. He was so talented and it looks like it’s been passed on. Paul is one of the most talented picker and singers I’ve ever heard.
I had some advice to take metal T posts and put 30 pound fishing line across it about four rows up to 5 foot high. The deer can’t see it so they don’t cross it and they can’t jump it because they can’t see it. We’ll see how that works. I’m just about to give up. Make sure you check in between olive’s toes for ticks. She’s so dark it would be hard to see them
Hello Tipper and Corie, sorry to hear about granny's garden, hopefully with the hard work yall put into it will make it productive. Yeah Tipper y'all's garden is looking wonderful. Ive harvested everything in my garden except the corn and a few water melons. The outshine popsicles was my favorite had to give them up. Not good for diabetics. They have about 1-1/2 tablespoons of sugar per popsicle. Sometimes i still look at them when i go to the store lol, but i have to pass them up. God bless happy gardening.
My birthday is Sunday I want blackberry cobbler, of course beans greens and cornbread, have to get that from Cracker Barrel, I live in a nursing home, to watch you is so joyful
Gardening is such an amazing journey!!!! My 5 plots at the senior center and all my containers at home, allows me the possibility of produce growing well enough to share, with friends and other seniors. Even thru differences locations, weather appears to follow the same patterns. The rain ( at times torrential) thunder and lightening⛈️⚡🌧️, and🌬️🌬️🌬️. winds!!!!! Neglect of your growing plants, soon shows ,in the massive leaves, vines, height of tomatoes 🍅 and peppers!!🌶️!! My malabar spinach is up about a foot climbing three legs, of the trellis. One pot of curley kale, one eggplant, ( at home) two parsley in one pot, a few tomatoes ( seeing the first appearance of tomatoes on the mortgage lifter( looks like your heirloom Cherokee purple) a double for sure!!! I am overjoyed to have harvested two zucchini ( with two more, soon to be ready) and at the senior center, two first pickling cucumbers.🥒🥒 Gave one of each away Recipient delighted to have the produce!!! Such a good feeling! See you in the gardens, Tipper, Matt, Katie and Corey 🥰👍
I live in NC, but you all remind me of when I would visit my family in Eastern, Tn.....just sitting out and talking. I loved those times. God bless! ❤🩹
Looks like your garden is growing better than you thought. I hate hearing Granny's garden isn't doing well. You definitely have plenty of work cut out for you. I also know how much you enjoy seeing how hard your work pays off. Have a blessed day y'all 🤗🙏💕
If ever I need some stress relief, this slow talking about daily life from your family always provides it. So thank you. I've had outshine before. I'll have to get some, they're so good.
I saw you eating the Outshine popsicles & decided t try them. They are pricey here in Aberdeen. We have Lowes grocery stores here & Harris Teeter plus Foodlion. I have a choice of several stores so what I have started doing is flowing the store ads & see who has them on sale. Usually they run $5;99 a box but sometimes I get them for $3.99 & 2/$7.I always buy them & quite a few of them when they ar like that. I love them.

Loved watching this video again.!
Outshine was my addiction for several years. Love them. When I get my house finished and the new freezer, that’ll be the first thing that goes in.
It’s always enjoyable to see y’all tour the garden and just talk like we are all there with y’all. Hopefully the extra fertilizer will get Granny’s garden the kick start it needs to grow and produce!
Hoping granny's garden improves, I know from you all how she loves watching it grow😊
Outshine are the Jolly Ranchers of popsicles 😁
Butterscotch puddin’ is yum-o! My favorite. Just went to the store and picked up a small box.
Your garden looks amazing ❤️
We use diluted peppermint oil in a spray bottle. Spray yourself down before you go out and it repels bugs including ticks.
I recently tried the Outshine popsicles and they are wonderful. Thank you for sharing the name of them with us.
Enjoy your day!
Your family is the best!! Also, Tipper you have beautiful skin!
You are so kind-thank you 😀
I also am a twin so love to see the girls too
Enjoyed your video. Thank you for introducing me to Outshine. I’m hooked! Bless y’all. ☺️
Thanks for the updates. I’ll be praying for Granny’s garden. Y’all look great. Keep up the good work! Love and God bless!
My grandmother always taught me to air the soil. Till round plants with hoe gently. It's funny how we do as those elders we watched did. I didn't pay particular attention but gosh, I surely do reflect back and reenact it all. I retained tons without even trying. Thank God for grandparents
The peppers I started from seed or the ones I got at lowes are not doing well at all.
The one big pepper plant I over winter ed from 2022 has already produced peppers tho.
Wonder if Epsom salts would help the weaklin?
We had that wind. Tree down. Big mess around here.
Good to see you girls. I needed cheerful faces and voices today.
Thank you for visiting with us Rhonda! Glad you enjoyed it 😀 I need to use epsom salt on Granny's 😀
Lovely 🌹
Thank you 😀
👏😎 Bravo. Great Work. 😎👍
Good video loved seeing you and Corie working together to help Granny out with her garden that’s what family does help each other ❤️
Thank you Krissy 😀
My birthday is Sunday I want blackberry cobbler, of course beans greens and cornbread, have to get that from Cracker Barrel, I live in a nursing home, to watch you is so joyful
Hope you have a very Happy Birthday 😀
I am overjoyed to have harvested two zucchini ( with two more, soon to be ready) and at the senior center, two first pickling cucumbers.🥒🥒 Gave one of each away
Recipient delighted to have the produce!!! Such a good feeling! See you in the gardens, Tipper, Matt, Katie and Corey 🥰👍
Sounds great!
I'm jealous of your rain. I've had 3/10's the last 2weeks
More gardening ❤
I live in NC, but you all remind me of when I would visit my family in Eastern, Tn.....just sitting out and talking. I loved those times.
God bless! ❤🩹
Looks like your garden is growing better than you thought. I hate hearing Granny's garden isn't doing well. You definitely have plenty of work cut out for you. I also know how much you enjoy seeing how hard your work pays off. Have a blessed day y'all 🤗🙏💕
Thank you Linda 😀
If ever I need some stress relief, this slow talking about daily life from your family always provides it. So thank you. I've had outshine before. I'll have to get some, they're so good.
Outshine pineapple popsicles are my favorite!!
Finally Found The Fruit Pops !!!!
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😁😁😁
😀
You all have gotten me started on the popsicles! My favorite are pineapple but strawberry is a close second. Thanks!!
