This is my first time participating in Inktober. It's rather intimidating seeing such great artists but I'm enjoying the challenge and it's helping me grow as an artist. Love your lighthouses! And thanks for showing us your supplies!

I am doing my own thing… Tree-tober. The regular prompts I followed along with a couple of years ago. They did not do much to inspire me. So my trees in my yard… I am getting to know them better! 🍁

Fell "off the wagon" one day, but did two drawings next day to make up for it :) I am randomly selecting images found on-line to draw. Often they are rustic or quaint in nature - these speak to me. I really appreciate you showing us your pen-type masking fluid tools.
I haven't done anything for inktober as yet. So much going on with the hurricane and small surgery yesterday. Now we have another hurricane on the way so.... 😊 who knows? 😁💛💛🙏 But as always I can watch and enjoy your drawings and videos. Thanks Leslie 👍💛😊
Great video Leslie! Since my art journey started with Zentangle four years ago, I've done three Inktober challenges for that community. I've branched out into botanicals and watercolor among other topics recently, thus looking for something different this year. Finally decided to go rogue and am doing 31 days of whimsical critters. I'm loving it! But, I love your Housetober idea so will definitely do it in the future.
Ohh I love 💕 your Housetober! I have got to check out the Masking Fluid Pens. Yes I am doing two monthly challenges this year, both the Traditional Inktober & the Birdtober challenges. I am using 9 inches x 12 inches Canson XL Watercolor Wire Bound Sketchbook Paper for them. One page divided in half to draw the Day’s prompts for each challenge. So far it’s working great for me!
I am doing a personal painting challenge I am painting bookmarks with watercolours 😁 I do very much enjoy listening to your posts, you have such a calming voice and I love how you organize your kits! Thanks for sharing 🥰
Wonderful informative video as always Leslie, thank you for being so generous with all your reviews, tutorials and tips. If you want your Molotow masking fluid with a smaller tip you can replace the one it has with the 1mm EF crossover marker tip.

I took part in Sketchtember so having a break in October. The prompts don’t inspire me so I am just enjoying playing in my sketchbook. Great tips Leslie and beautiful drawings. 🙏💜

Apologies if I said this already on your previous video but this year I’m writing a story so that the word prompts are the illustrations for each “chapter”. I’m enjoying it so far, but some of the words will be a challenge to fit into the story haha. Also something different this year is that I’m just using a fountain pen with water soluble ink and using water to spread it around. It’s fun, but I suspect that next time I’ll probably go back to fine liners.
I'm doing the 2024 prompts, but adapted to the white space in a collaged journal I've had sitting around for years. This year's prompts are... not too interesting, and a bit redundant. You add some inspiration to doing a challenge, but in your own choice of topics...Thanks for the tool tour; I didn't know of masking pens. Handy!

I absolutely just love your ink drawings, they are stunningly beautiful.🤩 May I ask if you have a detailed cart (the cart behind you in this video), of how you store things in there and links to storage items? I’m struggling finding a way to store my art supplies inside it, to maximize the cart. I find it difficult to find many videos for art supplies showing this. I was wondering if you had made one or were willing to make a video on this? As it appears to be very well used and loved in your background with lots of things being able to be held inside it.🙂
I’m doing Inktober … already exhausted 😊 I grumble every year but I’ve finished it thrice so let’s see. The problem is ME… I make things harder for myself by adding some props😅
I’m doing pencil, ink and watercolor for the first time for October. I selected my first “fairy tale” house and am 75% through the drawing. Unfortunately, the house is significantly covered in ivy. I’ve drawn it in place, but it’s dense. Can you give me any suggestions on how to deal with this as I proceed to the ink??
Your lighthouses are beautiful, especially number three - where IS that? I’m trying to do a different face every day & slightly regretting my choice of subject matter but I’ve started now., so I’m going to keep going. Today is the first day I’ve missed but I’ll try to catch up tomorrow. I’m enjoying the challenge, even if I’d not rate my end results. 😉

Can you direct me to cadmium free watercolor tubes and / or pallets for beginners. I am traveling and need something safe as I love the idea of using wristbands on the go.

I'm doing productober this year to get into the daily habit of practising design sketching again.

I'm trying "thatchtober" this year. My plans changed too and I've ended up doing a watercolor wash which is not at all what I planned.
I really like the KREUL masking fluid pen for small details. Also, the company is almost next door to where I live 😁

I try to keep it to 2 hours, though sometimes it’s a bit longer! 😊
