I disagree. 33 cruises in and one planned for Christmas and I’ve never used a travel agent. I’ve never had a problem.

Still didn’t explain how to find one besides “word of mouth”. Idk anyone who has used a travel agent…

I've tried a few Travel Agents (TAs) before, and I find booking with a TA tends to be a hassle, The cruisline will answer your phone call 24/7 and always be there to help you. If the price drops on your cruise and you want to catch the sale, you don't want to wait for a TA to return your phone call to lock in the savings. A travel agent is a good idea if you are a newbie cruiser; because then you are sacrificing convenience for a ton of experience.

Calling the cruiseline is different from booking online. Many cruiselines have personal vacation planners or cruise line agents who essentially are commission paid agents directly connected to the corporation owning the cruiseline.

This is good idea if you are new to cruising. Been on many cruises and to most ports, don't need a travel agent to guide me. With TH-cam you can find everything you need to know about ports and what to do.

I became a travel agent for cruising last month but I am having a hard time finding clients. Not sure what is the best way to promote.I am actually going on a cruise this weekend and will try to meet new people perhaps and spread the word.

I had a wonderful Travel Agent for many. years. I tried to reach out to her a few months ago and her email and phone number was no longer active. I am in the process of finding a new one. I Would like to book a Canival Cruise for March. Do you have a website?

Zero content here, just a ton of general comments. Used "a lot" a lot.

Nothing can beat experience! Make sure an agent has general knowledge of the destination that you are seeking!

Do not use a travel agent. They can't help you, and you will pay more. I have always booked directly with the cruise line. One time, I use a travel agent and it was horrible, he made false promises and lie about on board credits. I used cruise to go. They were horrible. Do yourself a favor and book it yourself. It's better.

I was thinking of booking a cruise through Costco Travel. Do you think this is a good way to go?

I like booking through them. Instead of a cruise credit on board you get a gift card once you complete your sailing. It's really nice. Prices are the same (sometimes a little cheaper) as when you book online through carnival
