Those little 141CC are mighty...I love mine but also have a two stage as well for the heavier snow. great vid!

Brilliant review of 1 vs 2 stage, comparison at the end with conclusion is great!

I have both as well. Most times I'm grabbing the 3650 because its just easier to maneuver. Next time you use the 3650, keep the augers engaged and on the ground when you pull it backwards. It will scrub right down to the bare pavement. For some reason it does a much better job at scraping the pavement going backwards than forward.

Interesting idea. Never thought of trying that. I would think you would be fighting the forward propulsion you get from the auger paddles scraping the ground. But I can see it working. I personally don't care if it scraps it clean but others might want to try your tip. Thanks for sharing. Cheers

I just got a single stage. My old murray two stage still works fine, but on my city lot it can be like using a 300 pound shovel when you have to do a lot of maneuvering. The new machine is much easier and if the big snow hits I've still got the 2 stage.

I agree. Thankfully they are adding "power steering" to some of these bigger models these days. I love the light weight of the single stages also. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers

    Toro WON! Hands down.

I do like using the Toro more. Just easier to maneuver. But the MTD is nice to have for heavier, wet snow or plowed snow at the end of the driveway

Having the exact same Toro CCR3650 as you have, and a 2 stage OLD Sears Craftsman I inherited from my Dad? The Toro handles the wet slushy stuff without plugging up much better then the Craftsman, but that may be attributed to age. I agree the Toro DOESN'T much care for the deeper snow, whereas the Craftsman more er less walks right through it. Jez an FYI for the future, USE the electric start as much as ya can. Mine doesn't have it, and replacing the pull rope? Is a ROYAL P.I.T.A.!!......O h yeah! Toro does make 1 with a transmission and about as wide as your MTD. But, they want 1,000 dollars american for it! Tell ya what, if I'm gonna shell out a thousand dollars for a snowblower? It had darned well have at LEAST 1 back up gear! They don't! So I left it at the store for some poor guy! 😂

Working on these little single stagers can be a pain, that's for sure. Pretty much take all the covers off to get at anything. I just couldn't be bothered to get the extension cord out sometimes. Just faster to pull on the rope. But as I'm getting up there in years, I'm certain the electric start will be used more often. As for the price of the bigger 2 stage ones, they have gotten out of control for new ones. 2+ thousand dollars for a new Ariens. Get outta here. No thanks. Good thing I'm handy and can fix up a good used one when one comes along. Thanks for watching. Take care.
