      It's real nice to see the family taking part and enjoying life together. Soldiering can often mean lost family life. Great to see you are enjoying yours. Something good about a Dane in Russia too. The viking Rus founded the country.

    I waxed the camo patches with beeswax on my gorka E (autumn camo) it gives a beautifull patina and it makes it waterproof on areas most affected by rain (hood shoulders and arms) and i left the cotton area un-waxed to keep its breathability. Perfect as outer shell in any conditions, even winter if you wear whool clothes underneath

      TH-cam and Facebook enforce "New Speak " Censorship rules on behalf of Obama's Resistance Army...Just like Orwell predicted in 1984...Don't believe it? How many Facebook Posts or TH-cam Vids have you seen where Obama's Completion, Hair, and Name are Mocked? Now, how many times have you seen Trump's Hair, Complexion, or Name mocked in the last 2 1/2 years?....

    Those Suspenders/Braces are an OLD concept. I have a pair of US Army ones that were made in the 1960s, and I'm sure that there were Civilian versions long before that. But the Soviet Gorka looks like a Great Design. As for the Back Pockets, eh, cut up an old Foam Sleeping pad and make a couple of Inserts to fit them. Gives you some comfort when you have a seat, yet you don't worry about losing anything important in Combat. Take Care. BTW, how much is the Pink Troll Studios paying you for these Videos?

    I bought a Gorka last year, and I have to admit that it's my favorite outdoor clothing now! it certainly doesn't look verry trendy but , verry efficient, simple and versatile, wind stopping and waterproof enough for winter (whith a warm underlayer) but breathable and light enough for midseason and summertime !

    • @TheHumanSynthesisProject

      IMO they are a very handsome garment. The colors are always very nice, they age and patina well (much like the folks who use such garments ;) and they provide that utilitarian confidence that inspires one to adventure in places one might otherwise not. I call them tactical jam jams, and they're my favorite garments. I smile every time I get to wear them. You can call my oddly sentimental and i wouldnt disagree, but I think they are brilliant, and I would love to see them catch on in the west. Spreading knowledge and awareness of cost effective options could hopefully get more people involved in the outdoors, and thats a good thing.
      IMO

    What an exciting video, Lars. Love the Gorka suit and of course, here in the UK there are braces to hold the trousers up...something I've been wearing for about a year or so now. Say hello to the pink troll for me as I waved back to her when she did likewise from inside the green vehicle. The features on the suit are excellent enough that we should be able to be able to buy these too, it's brilliant, just like this video. Take care...

    Hello Lars. I have a Russian GORKA camouflage suit and it is great, and also very practicle and functional. Also I have some other Russian Camouflage 100% cotton suits. They all breath and are made from cotton and not half nylon which is too hot in hot dry, and humid climates. The GORKA and the others are all 100% rip stop cotton like our old Vietnam Jungle fatigues. I like the band and sturip system at the bottom of the trousers, and the suspenders / braces that come with the trousers. A very good soldier uniform that was designed in my opinion with soldier feedback. I also like the button system. Just a very well designed group of camouflage suits.

    darn...can't buy them in the US? This is the first set of outdoor clothing I have seen since the '70's that I WOULD buy. They are well-made with excellent features. If the supplier won't sell them abroad, I hope someone copies them. Maybe Varusteleka can? Great video, Lars...the Pink Troll really enhances your channel. The LUAZ looks really good.

    Very good review thanks. I own 2 sets of the BARS Gorka 3, one set slightly larger for cold and layering underneath. The other set st a slightly more snug fit for the warmer months. Very good gear that's for sure. Water resistance and a good wind breaker just what you need in the harsher conditions. Got the through ebay as a means to get them into Australia.

    So far the best video I have seen on the Gorka suit. Not easy to get info on these...there must be more types of therse???

    Thanks for the video. The Grey-Shop is a good source for Gorkas and other supplies (and great reviews on TH-cam though). To improve the water repellant feature I use wax on my Gorkas. Just give them a decent rub with a wax bar (selfmade from bee's wax or the Fjällräven one) and you'll feel a huge difference. Stay save.....

    You're diplomacy on the subject of "A" is admirable. The buttons on the suspenders makes it easier to "drop the kids off at the pool", "pinch a loaf ", etc... is a good design feature, especially when RPGs are raining down. You have to admire Soviet form & function.

      Survival Russia - Yes, like another country with the letter "A" in it formed, supplied, and armed a group of concerned citizens of said country that turned out to be a threat to Western Civilization as we know it. Oops, that wasn't PC.

    • @fredthorne9692
      @fredthorne9692 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huntarama - I certainly don't wish to interfere with what sounds to be a good, Spirit lead worship service. What I am trying to communicate, and rather poorly at that, is it was the government that is supposed to act in my interest, created this TB and the whole shooting match to begin with. The last entity I could rely on for the truth regarding the sins of the past is in the District of Columbia. It is ironic, that the city named after the first president was in fact swamp land on the Potomac. To date, not one jot or tiddle has occurred, by my estimation, to drain it. Thus, your thoughts on the subject at large are in no way going to find any resistance with me. Honestly, my nation has turned away from the Almighty. I would not be the least bit surprised if He turned his back on it. Yet, we remain blessed in ways unimaginable. Peace be with you and yours my friend.

    • @huntarama9375
      @huntarama9375 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fred Thorne . Ha ha I never realized DC was actually swamp land it all makes sense now. From what I understand their are a fare number of republicans that could be considered swamp dwellers as well as the republicans.
      To be honest fred I enjoy the company of most americans its just the politicians I dont have time for. I understand that lawyers are disproportionate representation in the US government so here,s a lawyer joke.
      Whats the difference between a lawyer and a flounder- Ones a bottom dwelling mud sucker and the other ones a fish.
      Another funny but true story we were out for dinner last week end with a bunch of friends. An Armenian , a russian, a ukrainian , a dutchman and my wife who,s half ukrainian , half russia. Any how conversation eventually got around to the troubles in ukraine. Anyhow another couple asked if they could sit at the two spare seats at our table as the restaurant was full. The husband was an african and the wife was european. We started discussing the recent troubles in ukraine and were a bit surprised when the african guy joined in the conversation speaking fluent russian. Turns out he was from sierra Leone but had benefited from a good soviet education some time in his past. We assumed his wife was from NZ but didnt say much just sat their smiling as we all agreeded that like all the other trouble in the world recently Ukraine was the fault of america and their neocon bully boys and girls poking their noses in where it was not wanted. During a lull in conversation I asked the african guys wife what part of NZ she was from.
      her reply was " Im not from NZ I,M from the United states" . Man were we embarrassed. So I asked her what part of the states are you from and as she was from Wisconsin we all agreed that that didnt count and she was for all practical purposes Canadian.

    • @SurvivalRussia
      @SurvivalRussia  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Only wash it when you really have to, and use very little washing agent. Don't leave it in the washing machine after washing for a long time. I normally just brush off the dried mud with a stiff brush. The suit will most likely loose some color and look "crumbled" to some degree. That's is normal, as the fabric is very tightly weaved and natural fabrics looses color faster than synthetics.

    Are you saying Canadian button? As a Canadian I'm wondering what that means. I've never heard that before.

    I doubt the tick trap works. I like it but you catch them on the outside more then on boots IMO

    the gorka material sounds like the same that the british army windproof smock is made of, a ventile/gabardine material

    Looking at trying to source a couple of Gorkas at the moment but it appears as though it's going to be a bit of a pain in the back side. Excellent video, thank you for the overview.

      What do you need? I can hook you up with some SSO Gorka directly from the manufacturer. Send me an email if you want. You can find it in the "About" section here on the channel.

    Hello Lars. Great video on the Gorka Suits as always. I know that I have commented very positively on them before, but I often review your videos that I have seen before from time to time. Great job as always buddy.
