I’m so excited to have gotten my DITTO! Thank you for showing me this. I had gotten one and it wouldn’t pair with my wi-if so their customer service replaced it for me! They were very helpful! They not only replaced the projector, they gave me a whole new kit!
@@marykaren7542 yes!! I have used it twice, for a top and a dress. I am in LOVE with how it automatically adjusts the measurements of the pattern to my personal measurements. I have made anything super fitted yet, but so far, I’m super pleased with the results! You will love yours!!
Thank you, I enjoyed your tutorial. I wush you had shown the Ditto machine and how it is mounted. I understand some machines need calibration? Does Joann fabric market the Ditto? I've heard rumors they are going bust. Would there be support? If so, from who?
My machine is mounted to the wall permanently because my ceilings are 15ft tall. All of the machines need to be calibrated. I am not sure about the specific ditto questions. You will need to reach out to them.
Hi Robin. I'm a larger woman also and wonder if the system factors in the need for FBAs, sway backs, and other needed adjustments. Also, if you want to lengthen/shorten a bodice or pant leg length, how would one go about doing that? This system is just too expensive ($800 projector alone) to buy before all the questions are answered.
@@SewAndTellwithDorithere are videos about how to set up a DIY projector system that works as well as Ditto but costs under a hundred or so. Unless a pattern has the FBA etc incorporated into it, you might want to project onto paper and trace the pattern and adjust it. It’s still better than printing and taping tons of pages together- you could probably project just your size or your size plus grades up/down.
While it might be possible to purchase a less expensive projector, you still have to purchase a subscription to use the Ditto system, then buy or re-buy patterns that I already have. Then you also have to factor in the cost of fabric for what you want to make. The overall cost of making a garment with the Ditto system makes garment sewing way excessively expensive. I'll stick with paper patterns, which I have plenty of and can hack or make adjustments to, depending on the need.@@Carol-Bell

how does Ditto project the pattern onto the fabric? Do you need expensive add-on projector for an average computer?
The Ditto comes with the projector & it’s super easy to set up!
