Most of the electronic sirens heard in this video are Federals with 2N2925 transistors in the siren oscillator circuit. The PA15A series 1E, PA20A series 2E, and the PA200 have this circuit.
The 2N2925 circuit is designed to produce high-pitched wail and yelp tones like the electronic sirens we hear nowadays. This circuit will produce the Chicago 'Blues Brothers' chirp if the siren selector knob is caught in between wail and yelp.

Boy some of those rigs bring back memories of the days when Fire/Private EMS consisted of a Caddy ambulance and the patient was given the "strap and drive as fast as possible" treatment. You didn't want a patient in full arrest, or bleeding to death especially during rush hour. Super vid NAP.

Those joggers? Yeah, you can say that again. Only care about their stupid running instead of watching something awesome.

@herchoc22 it is close but no cigar. The siren on the combo car is likely a Federal Model 28. These were very common. They sounded like the Federal Q siren on Engine 51 but a little less loud.

That is an older Federal electronic PA-200 or earlier with the rotary selector in between positions. A good one would produce about seven versions of the three positions indicated by very slowly turning roto switch. I have one, a PA 20 for sale, E bay no longer allows these at all.

I could be wrong on the name, but I think the siren at 00:46 is/was referred to as a phaser. It's a variation of the European high/low.

The one you want is a PA15A series 1E, not a PA15. The PA15 and PA15A 1E are entirely different machines.
The PA15A series 1E, PA20A series 2E and the PA200 will all do the Blues Brothers 'Chicago chirp'. The PA15A 1E and PA20A 2E were in production throughout the 1970s and they are easy to find. PA200s were in production from the mid 1970s to late 1980s and are also easy to find.

I think what your trying to say is the PA200. That is the siren that the Blues Brothers Police cars had.

    Wow,just wow!
But how did you get away with it.I got a ticket just for HAVING the lights and siren on my '63 Caddy Superior, let alone using them.I had the lights painted over with white shoe polish, but,if you hit 'em they'd shine through.
Alas, the car is long gone, but I still have the ticket "equipped with siren" and "unlawful lighting".

The american hearse is one of the great icons in our society that has symbolized solemness and dignity. They command respect and attention. Within the last 15 years though, they have lost thier distinctness with design ideas; loss of chrome and massive commercial glass, multiple options.... 3-way casket table, and wide width.....the american coach is about to lose it's way among the common automobile.....comments anyone.

Phaser is in no way a variation of Hi/Lo.....that was just a different sounding yelp...
