The year is 2009, i was 15 at the time and had worked hard the last two summers. One day my father took me to the Apple Store and i spend all my money on a brand new 17 inch macbook pro with OSX Snow Leopard installed. (Btw that computer still works fine and i have it running High Sierra and use it as a media center)
Did you get anything else from the Apple store while you were there like an iPod or protection for your MacBook like a case or a Apple care plan or something like that and can you still run the newest versions of applications on macOS high Sierra and could you in any way downgrade if you wanted to?
Those were the golden Days. Back when you really had a feeling of excitement using a mac. All those small things made such a huge difference. Also the Fact, that the setup window kind of folds up after the video.
My very first computer was an iBook G4. It came preinstalled with OS X Tiger. When I discovered a new OS was out I decided to install it and I was so hyped. I remember the first time I heard this intro on my iBook it was so amazing! This brings so many memories from back then. I liked OS X Tiger but I really loved OS X Leopard.
One thing I loved is that after you get eaten by the X the music continues playing as you finish the setup which is really nice! If I manage to fix up my A1181 MacBook I'm installing Snow Leopard for sure!
10 years ago, i bought my first MacBook pro, which unfortunately spoilt 5 years later and i had to sell it away for parts. I remember booting up to this screen, and was so excited for my first MacBook. how nostalgic.
It is the year 2009, you have worked hard and earned enough money to buy a Mac. You go to the apple store and buy yourself a good computer to use for a long time. You bring it home and hear this intro, looking at the screen puts you in a trance, an amazing mental state, the music wipes all of your problems away, the animation makes you forget everything you ever had to worry about. You set up the computer with the music still in your head. Good times.
I remember working for Geek Squad at the time Leopard came out. I was a hard-core PC guy, but we were about to begin selling/ repairing Apple products once again and I wanted to get a good grasp on how they worked. I bought a G4 iMac (still have it by the way) and loaded Leopard on it. This intro blew me away. It was the way it made the computer seem so alive and personal and like it was excited for me to use it somehow. There were many other reasons I have since switched to the Apple camp, but I still remember how cool it felt watching this intro for the first time. I hope they bring these sort of things back.
This brings back many good memories for me, from when I was younger. Back when my Early-2008 MBP 15” was new, I remember hearing this the first time I turned it on, brand new out of the box...
@@noahbecerra True, i got a mac mini server running the Server version of Snow. It also had an intro but was blue. I posted it on reddit because nobody seemed to know www.reddit.com/r/mac/comments/eg3rj8/welcome_video_on_server_mac_os/. The browsers are getting outdated though. My favorite intro was the Tiger one too.
Seriously where did all the time go? I feel like it was only yesterday I turned on my MacBook Pro and I was greeted with this amazing introduction. Apple sadly doesn’t do them anymore.
I saw this on the first mac I ever owned that originally had tiger, but was upgraded to snow leopard, im kinda glad I needed to do a reinstall. This was on a mid-2007 A1181 Macbook, The extremely hot running Core 2 Duo ones.

It aged so well, still looks fresh and clean. Good design
By far the best Mac OS intro. This took “last but not least” to a whole new level.
i wish they still had intros like this for the OS. Make it an event!
Yeah. It was great.
I feel the how the "Thank You" window pops up really puts it together tho...
Thank you for this 1080p intro of the MacOS x snow leopard

I always loved how the music would keep playing for a bit even after the first pop up menu comes up, that was a lovely touch!
