      Hey Graham! Ah thank you! All of the underwater footage in the video was taken with the GoPro hero8 inside a waterproof case. St. Croix is definitely one of our favorite dive spots!

    Dove that wall back in the 90s. Was spectacular.
    Yeah, you two were still wandering around in your diddies at that time I suspect

    • @SailingOneLife
      @SailingOneLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I bet it was spectacular! I wonder how much it has changed since then. It was still quite abundant with life but imagine it was even more so when you were there!

    What a great story... I'm binge-watching right now. Question; When you dive somewhere with current, how do you handle that? The only way I can think is to have a chase dinghy or tow it along with a line as you drift. I've only done paid dives from a boat, so there was always someone on the boat waiting for your return.

    • @SailingOneLife
      @SailingOneLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question, there is definitely an added level of risk when we dive alone from our dinghy in remote places. There's a few things we do to stay safe. We often scout the dive site by freediving the day before to check the tide/current situation. We position the dinghy down current (or downwind if no current) from where we plan to dive and always swim against the current first. And lastly we will message a friend and let them know where we are diving, so if they don't hear from us in a couple hours they can send help. Every situation is different though, so we take our time and then stick to the plan.

      Thanks, Chris! I just took a look at Flip Filters. Those looks pretty awesome. We have a red/purple cover for our dive housing on our GoPro 8 that we use. So far we've had pretty good luck using just that.
