It’s past time to rethink how to use this training device. Flat footed, squared off, no head movement, no feints, no disengagement, not using a fighting stance, no level changes. It’s like if you were using a traditional heavy bag and just stood there throwing a sequence of punches. Better than nothing I guess. But if you treat your training device the way you would an actual opponent, like it could hurt you, then you could get much more bang for your buck out of your training time. This type of training should have died off years ago.
well it's still alive and still work, except for some fake wing chun master who got their ass banged in the stadium. Suprise mtfk? That's just depend on the practitioner
Sorry man but.. too many wrong movement. In Wing chun, energy is always foward, and you never should use force vs force. When you did Kaun sao, you are too rigid. When you did pak sao, your energy is on the side of the arms.. you should go foward.. when you did tan sao, you should "cut" the dummy. My advice: be more relaxed ^_^
*SIGH* You just don't get it, do you? This is an educational clip which can also be an instructional one (notwithstanding differences due to differing sub-style) for those who are already "seasoned" by several YEARS of DAILY PRACTICE. Therefore it is performed SLOWLY, and yes, even akin to a stiff robot, so that one FIRST LEARNS the actual moves, just as they are unto themselves, stripped of details which are introduced at later stages of development. So this performance is a depiction of the famous VING TZUN WOODEN DUMMY SET delivered in a methodically SLOW, and EASY to FOLLOW (thus ACTUALLY LEARN-ABLE) fashion. Basically, this exponent is simply providing an excellent service here for the benefit of any, and all, martial arts and combat science adherents and/or enthusiasts.
@@narayansivajiramos5763 Do You practise WIng Chun? I do. I am studying wooden dummy form, ipman lineage. Wooden dummy MUST be trained slowly.. but... DO you know the reason why wooden dummy should be introduced late in the years of practise? because they are NOT simple movement but You apply concept. In that video I saw many wrong BIOMECHANICAL movemts... ex: tan sao have not right angle (his arm is too fold) when i did bong sau, he lost the center line(look him shoulder) I thank you him so much for sharing.. but sorry i need to explain the problem. I practising wing chun from 6 year. look this video: th-cam.com/video/cIzSe_mPk4s/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=LoukasKastrounis very slow but one of most precious wooden dummy ever.
Very interesting dummy form. It's much different then the dummy form at my kwoon
Muy objetiva ideal para un aprendiz ojalá lo tuviéramos en Argentina
Clearly executed and the sequence is easy to follow due to the slow speed of its delivery. I love this video.

True, you get 0% reflex from this and conditioning. That's why many martial artists would lose to a simple street fighter

I agree with you when I saw this, he seems rigid, & like you said isn't wing Chun all about forward movement?
Wow Narayan you put alot of thought into that comment😄
very poor... :(
Your IGNORANCE of Ol' Mookie is annoyingly EVIDENT.
