    You do a great job with your videos! You have helped me out and saved me a lot money over the years, keep you the good work!

    Thanks for the video I just did my brakes on my razor and took the tie rods off from the hub because I couldn't get to the bolt on the caliper. Well lo and behold I can't get the tie rod back in the hole with the wheels straight so now I have to do a alignment

    I don't know why you don't have more subs. While your vids aren't high tech and "extreme" like others you present a lot of good info geared for the average joe like myself that don't have the budget to always drop my rig off at the dealer/shop to get work done so doing it myself is the only option. Keep up the good work, don't get discouraged, keep doing what you do. I just got a 2018 1000-5 and your vids have already been helpful. I think I've already watched a majority of your videos.

      Thanks for the encouragement, I try to make useful content for people. I would love to make the extreme videos, and big builds but I don't have the budget. I will keep plugging away and hope to get some more riding videos this summer with camping more often. Thanks for stopping by!

    Always enjoy your videos. However I wish you had started from the beginning of the set up and all the adjustments. Keep up the great work.

    I used 2 2x4's to do it and I also went with an 1/8 inch toe in.

    So should you start by making sure each tie rod is adjusted the same and how to fix off center steering wheel?

    • @DirtNDiesel
      @DirtNDiesel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, when I put new tie rods on I center the wheel and adjust them all the way "in", then count the turns "out" to be the same. I set my toe 1/8" in.

    A piece of string seems like more work than toe plates, measuring tapes, angle irons, levels? I don't know, I'm watching several UTV alignment videos and this seems the most costly and complicated. I appreciate the how to video but didn't understand that comment.

    Hmm, my tires have side knobbies. I guess I'll need toe plates with the spacers. Or make my own out of 1x2 steel tube.... hmm

    I’ve got a ‘21 pioneer 1000 with the factory wheels and tires on it. 27x9x14 in the front and 27x11x14 in the back. Will the string method or angle iron or anything still work? Only 200 miles on it and the right front tire is getting eat up much worse than the left.

      Did you figure the tire wear out , mine is doing the same thing. I've tried alignment but it didn't make it any better. Any thoughts would be appreciated

      @@jeremymyers5643 I just bought the toe plates that are in this video and used them to set the alignment

    So I bought a set of toe plates a few weeks back and as I'm setting the toe, it struck me.....sure I can set the toe on the front but how do I know the front are running straight and true compared to the rear? I don't think there is any way to address this with just the toe plate method. I believe for the DIYer a combination of using the toe plate and the string method can get you very close to a true alignment of all wheels. Otherwise, your alignment may result is a car doing a "crab walk". Just my thoughts on the subject....

    You need to align the front s with the back first to keep it from crabbing and the toe the front!

    You measure from tote plate to tote plate ?

    • @DirtNDiesel
      @DirtNDiesel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the toe plates have cut out in them for the tape measures. I have the front tape measure read 1/8" less that the rear tape measure to give me a toed in effect.

    • @DirtNDiesel
      @DirtNDiesel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tires are 235/75r15, they are light duty truck tires and DOT approved. I have 500 miles on them now and no issues at all. Thanks for stopping by!

      Dirt'N'Diesel 235/75r15 is about 29” tire!!! Did it chance in any way driving the machine? Take off, speed, handling?

    • @DirtNDiesel
      @DirtNDiesel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frankavendano5636 Yes, driving it is much improved on the hard top (does not float), I do a lot of black top driving. As for acceleration and top speed it was hurt a little, I think the 0-50 was like .5 sec slower and to get to the top end it needs another 100 yrs of so. The change was very positive for my style of riding, I run 20psi on the street and air down to 12ish when camping.
