I don't know why they put a Chevrolet motor in a Ford when they can take a 351 Windsor and make it just as hot as any 350 Chevrolet

Most likely the truck was built or was starting to be built back when Chevy turnkey engines were the easiest way to go.
I threw 350’s in anything it fit in just to be running with readily available parts anywhere I went

I agree they shouldn't mix. I've always been a Brand on brand guy. The water might get a little muddy or with aftermarket support and price but I don't go too far off stock at all a four-barrel intake headers and a good air cleaner that's enough for me.

Of all things, this truck reminds me of my 70 Chevelle I restored in the early 2000s. It was shadow gray, looked as good as this truck. Now I need to paint something shadow gray again, ive got a couple trucks I can choose from....thanks for the vid.
Just sold my primer Grey 70' Chevelle last year. She was a 350 4 Speed Rock Crusher. New bucket seats & interior. She needed paint & engine work. Sold it back to the original owners son. The last time he seen it he was 13 years old. He's now in his 60's (my age & brought his 16 year old Grandson along to see Great Grandpa's car). His mother had to sell it because his dad (Vietnam Vet) was dying from cancer, she needed the money. We talked for a while & he asked if I could open the trunk. I did & he found his toy Chevelle he stuck in there just before his Mother sold the car. When he broke down in tears & said their it is just were I left it, I about shit. I kick myself in the ass every now & than but you know what. The car is where it belongs, in that family. I feel pretty good about what I did & that's what counts. I still have my 69 El Camino that sat next to the Chevelle for a few years. Those two cars were meant for each other. She's a 350, with a Turbo 350 Automatic with the Chevelle Style Horseshoe Floor Shifter. I've been buying parts for her for about 13 years. I need to get her back on the road. Oh yea, she's like the Chevelle was, primer grey.

You stole my thought Robert. Thinking the same thing. Builders just go after that Chevy 350 as a basic project motor because it's relatively affordable. Ford has so many cool engines that could have easily made this project so much better. The 390 with a classic 4 speed would have put this truck on anyone's winner list. Also think about any of the hyper Mustang engines. Imagine the build with a Cobra Snake Package & a huge Ghost Cobra on the tailgate. The trucks a classic & looks really good but she's got to be tuned at your local GM Center. Great ride otherwise. Love them old Fords, even though I'm a Dodge Demon.
