I agree. Personally I used to fill in my brows in a bold Instagram type of way. I think the soft brows work even if u aren’t wearing makeup. I think American makeup trends need to go more toward a more natural look.

I do a mix of both, my eyebrows are naturally very very arched so I really can't make it straight / flat, I tried and it looks weird. But I do the natural korean style and I'm satisfied with it.
Funnily enough did my best friend try both styles on me until my cousin told me to just go with the natural shape of my brow. I looked great with both, apparently, but going with the natural shape seemed like the best option for me.

It also depends on how your brows grow naturally, personally I am not Korean or Eastern Asian but my brows grow on the straighter it slightly arched side. So if you have very pronounced arched brows naturally then the straight I brow look would look weird on you. And the other way around for he straight brows.
Personally i make western and korean mix. Cause western brows make look evil and older but korean make me look very innocent and cute so i make the mix of the two. And i draw my brows at home with henna i make em grey-ish and a little brown
