Just my 10 cents worth on the bin, but as another buyer offered more, of course the seller is going to accept it. Whether that is right or wrong is best up for debate. I think it was obvious the lady was not going to accept too much lower than £20. At that point you have to make a snap decision as people will jump in quickly if you are too hesitant.

The one rule of the bootsale, if your negotiating a deal and have something in your hand, you do not push in and buy it !!! So rude !!! I would of gone mad, i understand its the sellers item but the buyer should have know !! Dont be too hard on yourself George, the other buyer was at fault !! Haggling is not a science, but an art. If an item has been priced with a huge margin left, then paying the asking price is both smart and time-efficient. I personally try to be considerate with my haggling, as asking for huge discounts (half off or even a third first thing in the morning) can give the seller the impression I’m not a serious buyer. I also try to gauge where the person is in terms of their lowest price and either pay it, or thank them and move on. Unfortunately, casual sellers/family sellers do not really appreciate the “etiquette” of selling and just want to be rid of the stuff, but this should not be mistaken for them being prepared to sell their items dirt cheap. As most of their items were probably bought at retail price, they are likely more aware of the value of their stuff. Thankfully, this is not always the case, but that is why haggling is an art.

I don’t know why it’s so strange to see you using foreign currency other than I’m American...Kinda cool. I really want to visit new places.

you had first dibs on that bin you should have gone no sorry i was here first here is the £18.50 give the lady her money back. that has really angered me... tbh i had a lady try to take shoes out of my hand once going what size are they i said do you mind i'm here first please step back i was like what the hell are you doing fml some people ...think we all need to stand up for ourselves a bit more... because you was in the process of making a deal with the lady it wasn't an auction sell to the highest bidder was that the actual bin on ebay might buy it dent it and return lol jks.

Cool to spot a shed flips sticker in the background. Hope you watch thrift mine and cincinatti picker too. Be good to see you do something similar to John from cp and show us when you sell those bits you picked up and whst you got for them. Keep up the good work. I'd have bought all those band t shirts for myself at £2 a pop. Not worth much on resale usually unless really old tour t shirts

The bin incident was stupid, saw one sold for £185 the other week man! Different colours but don’t worry buddy what you did pick up was AMAZING poor sportsmanship from that lady shocking behaviour next time just RKO her 😆 hahaha

The other buyer for the bin was rude in my opinion. Unfortunately it happens a lot, happens to me all the time but I won’t lower myself to be that rude!

George I just wanted to let you know that youre giving far too much thought about the critics in your comments regarding the haggling. Just do what feels natural for you. My advice is to just find a price that you are happy with that youll make a decent profit and also a price the seller will feel happy with. Then everyones happy and thats what its all about really. Who cares if you make a few extra quid if it means the other person feels mugged off. Youre more likely to have pleasant interactions with people if you dont force a haggle if it isnt needed. Hope this helps for what its worth. Best wishes
