As a climate scientist, I believe this is the most important lecture in the history of climate science. I just teach this video to my students over and over. Thanks Suki!

This is a very inormative lecture on how increase in GHG's affect the temperature on earth's surface and its atmosphere. I am intrigued as a water professional to understand how this processes occur and affect water availability in both Global and regional context. This a great lecture.

Thank you Dr. Manabe, I learned so much from you today! On a science topic that is the most relevant to the world! In particular, the schematic of the troposphere/atmosphere was very helpful for my understanding... Thank you for your dedication, passion, and hard work! I have bookmarked some of the minor translation errors and I hope to get that corrected for you in the transcript. Thanks again!

Dr. Manabe, Happy Anniversary for your distinguished Award. I hope that more people attending the COP15 Biodiversity event in Montreal will take notice of your outstanding devotion to climate change.

He's talking about the WEATHER (days duration) with a POLITICAL SPIN, and not about the CLIMATE (decades duration)...

9:42 he's also labeled the temp difference resulting from the Lapse Rate as the Greenhouse Effect. :)

3:45 It would appear that he has labeled the temp difference resulting from the Lapse Rate as the Greenhouse Effect

Talk about greenhouse gasses increase cement production battery production and iron ore production releases more gasses than automobile cars do.

Funny how he managed to not understand the greenhouse effect yet.
