I can only feel admiration for those kids. Playing Zappa is another level. I´m normally a hater, but this time i´m going to congratulate. Those kids ROCKS

Frank's music is the heart and soul of the School of Rock program, the music that all the most talented kids aspire to be able to play. Look through my channel, and you'll find a couple of complete Zappa shows.

WOW. Super ambitious song and you guys nailed it (7 years late comment I know). Hope that drummer is still making it happen out there....junior Bozzio!

Every one of the 7 all-star teams performs a Zappa song every year. Frank is, and has been since the very beginning, the foundation and heart of the program. The guy who started it (long before the Jack Black movie) was a giant Zappa fanatic named Paul Green.

@@MidWestConcertVideo2 Right on, thanks for the reply and history lesson. iI actually have been looking up the band members and good to see they're still making music.

Glad to. Look through my channel, and you'll find plenty of Zappa, including a couple of full Zappa shows.

Great job, Dhatri. This song puts any lead vocalist through the musical wringer, and those twin-lead guitar harmonies are equally challenging. Can't imagine trying to memorize all the changes in a Zappa composition.

This cover is absolutely amazing!! Can't believe it's my first time hearing it on here. There music teacher is smart getting them into Frank Zappa's work. If they learn to play Frank's music they'll be able to play anything! I love it. ❤

Right from the first moment it started, Zappa has been the pinnacle of the _School of Rock_ program, the music that all the most skilled students aspire to be able to play. The documentary _Rock School,_ not to be confused with the Jack Black fiction film _School of Rock,_ features the founder of the program, Paul Green, taking his best students to Bad Doberon Germany to play a Frank Zappa festival, and then receiving a standing ovation led by Napoleon Murphy Brock.

I've been a BIG fan of Frank since Jr. High - 1973. This is so exciting to see these kids keeping his music alive. I love all of the FZ vids, but there is something special about this one that makes me smile for a long time after. Just superb, y'all. And that "return" that Chandler does at 2:07 really stands out to me. Great enthusiasm, y'all nail it.

Shoot What You Love Last year, I managed to record all seven AllStars teams, and every one of them did a Zappa song. He's the cornerstone of the School of Rock.

That really makes me happy. I started taking guitar lessons a little over a year ago, and I've been a little sad about the emphasis on "shredding". It's just wonderful to see his music being appreciated by a younger set of people.

Shoot What You Love I just talked to one of the kids in the Oak Park Zappa show, and Frank's music has lead him into all sorts of stuff, including Ornette Coleman.

Incredible, you nailed the song. Seems everyone studied their musician from the "Baby Snakes' vid. Tough, complex tune- WOW!

The show director send the kids a playlist to learn from three weeks or so before the first rehearsal, and on especially difficult songs like this one, specify a particular performance via Spotify or TH-cam.
