It is a short film that depicts the true flaws in our culture. We need to learn and move pass from our ancestors mistakes and learn what love really is. This film helps us as a whole by shedding light to this sensitive subject.

Lots of videos out there shows Rape, drugs and stripping... in all nationality, its not saying its right. I absolutely loved it! I thought the two main male leads could’ve put more emotion into their roles, but overall well done! I give two thumbs up for the main female lead. She is the star of this short film!
This was beautifully done ❤ I enjoyed watching and I definitely had the feels/emotions from the actors. I love how the song Cim Koj Lub Npe is also in with Tus Dej Kua Muag. I know there was a change of plan but I do hope that the song will be released soon. Thank you so much for uploading this!

Update: I’m not sure but my comment disappeared even though I still get notifications. I just want to repost because of the importance of the message that HMoob films can consider.
I wished there were more depth in the character development. Although these are short films, a lot of HMoob films focus too much on the storyline that they don't develop the characters well. They make characters seem very unidimensional and static, unchanged, unwilling to be more than just the surface. Another thing, the film should have brought us along the hurt and pain that Nkauj Lig experienced. She was raped, but these things are so normalized, we are just supposed to move forward with the film without any depth of her coping or how she is doing. All we get is that she marries her rapist. What about the sisterhood between her and her sister? What conversations or interactions are they both having? How are they both coping with this truth?
Which leads me to another point. Patriarchy/toxic masculinity is so normalized in the HMoob community that films are unwilling to unpack these dynamics - it's just accepted that that is the way things are supposed to be. How do we do justice to HMoob womxn and queer folx when we: 1) Objectify HMoob womxn in films, give them no signs of self-agency, normalize their oppression 2) Leave queer and trans folx out of the stories, promote heterosexual relationships only/produce homophobia by making comedic characters out of gay and queer folx. This is a general critique I have for all HMoob films and artistry.
Just some pointers that HMoob artists should consider or be mindful of when creating their arts. It is important that we have films to represent ourselves, our language, and our culture, so I support HMoob arts of all kinds. I would love to see the progression in storytelling in films.

Tis short film is good and sad, i can relate alittle, where the girl's parnets dnt approve of her dating her bf and tries to force her to marry somone else, but overall the film was good and acting was good too nice job 👍

Really sad. Reminded my of the pain I went through losing someone, the regret of what if I had done this or say this, would that person still be with me. Everyone acted well. Kudos to these actors and actresses for speaking Hmong and not trying to look cool by speaking English. Well done.

hltsolo sometimes the mind can only fight so much. It gets so tiring when you’re fighting a battle that you know and can see that you will lose at the end. The battle has to be worth it to keep on fighting on.

Lou does he/she means the world to you? is that person the first thing in your mind when you wake up and the last before you go to sleep? do you say their name at least once a day everyday of your life? is life worth living if your future does not have him/her in the equation? if you can't have that person no one else will do.

will you be wondering in the future what if and what might/could have been for the rest of your life? you are given the chance to in the present of time to face the situation head on. the opportunity is here and now, don't be the guy many years from now thinking back wondering and wishing. never let anyone take the opportunity you have now away or make you feel like you don't deserve it (not good enough).
even if in the end you might lose or things might not go your way, you do it knowing that you gave it your all and possibly only due to fate you can't win (not together). it's much easier to live with yourself knowing you try your best versus not knowing and be left wondering for the rest of your life what might/could have happen if... well you know the rest. walk away only if you know you won't regret. beside we don't live in laos and are not bind to the old customs. you forge your own future and live your life how you want (you only have to work hard and try to be as successful as you can be that is the only requirement).

Ok first let me apologize that although I am Hmong I do not watch alot of Hmong movies let alone short films. Music videos yes but just want to say this short film had me in many emotions. The cast were all very beautiful and handsome except his evil friends. Lol jk. But my goodness my heart broke as our parents always decided who was going to do be better for us but eventually never worked out. I totally respect it bc it's culture but I really really enjoyed this sort film and all the lovely songs. Also glad to know that you 2 are really married away from the acting world. Lol However I'm really excited for more short films or movies from anyone of you actors. Keep up the great work and beautiful stories. 👏👏👏❤❤
