This is a GOOD story!! I always say school is NOT for everyone! If you not serious with college, or don’t have a major in mind, you just wasting money away! Business is always the way to go if you willing to take the sweat! But now in days you can come out of high school working @some fast food restaurant as manger n make over $100,000 a year!
Lastly, poor parenting skills has caused lots headache and stress for our kids. I hope going forward, hmoob people can learn how to be better parents and accept their kids desire to achieve anything out of the ordinary…. If they choose a path different from other Hmong kids, so be it! Just learn to accept n love them for who they are, is the way to better relationship n family!

True story and great message to all the og's out there don't ever judge your son by the cover because who you associate with. whatever they see is not what you are and all the og's needs to understand that and make sure they fully understand that. What they see is not who you are.

You know it’s because your father was hard on you that helped you to change your ways. You should be thankful instead of resentment. If he was easy on you and let you do as you liked, you probably ended up as nothing. If you’re holding grudges, you are still far from success. You should be grateful that’s someone loved you enough to push you, regardless if it’s not the way you would have wanted it. Just look at the outcome. Your dad didn’t try to sabotage you or keep you from doing good.

I believed this guy have always had a goal to become wealthy at a young age like he stated at the beginning of his story but his dad shut him down when they spoke about it. His dad did not support his idea and way of thinking, also said that he ain't going to be successful and will stay a gangster. The way he dress to how he didn't get his high school diploma and had to get a GED instead. His dad didn't claim him and was embarrassed to acknowledge that he was a son during his grandpa funeral which he had found out from his friend only. This is what's wrong with the Hamong people and their ways of taking credits for something they never help and support. The famous saying just Like the main comment I'm replying too😂 This guy didn't become wealthy because of the way his dad treated him and he didn't become wealthy to show them but he did it for himself because he believed in himself. Stop giving credits to people who never support but all they do is talk down and kill dreams.

It is an encouragement fiction. As far as I know of most people who ran a car repair shop don't make it, even just one shop instead of three shops as you said. I do income-tax for people for over 30 years and none of my clients who run car repair shop did not get rich. They quit within 3-5 years

    • @dohcvtecboy

Thats true, it's hard running a car repair shop. Gotta be a good mechanic and and have loyal clients. My wife tells me to start my own shop, even me as a Master technician, I'm scared and dont want to fail like others I know. So i just start small as a side job first.

    • @gerryvang3244

@dohcvtecboy Do it as a side job is a good idea. It provides you with an extra source of income while you can still work full-time at something else.
I did income tax and real estate as a side job while working full-time as a chemist at a company. Later, I transitioned from my job to real estate when I had the experience and feel confident of running my own real estate. Now I don't have to work for someone else.

I'm proud of you brother for taking control of your life and success. Your hard work paid off.
You've paid your parents back enough. If you were not successful and have money they wouldn't have nothing to do with you. Now your dad expects you to buried him and pay for his funeral.
Remember he refused you help and shut the doors on you over and over. He didn't support you nor even help or pat for your wife. Yet he keeps trying to get you to divorce your wife and create dispute and problems in your marriage and your home.
You need to send them packing back to his othe4 son's that he gave and did everything for and love and supported.

Keep up the great work, and keep loving your parents. Best wishes.

I believe that parents back then had anxiety about not going in the same track as others, but you had confidence in yourself from a young age. I think that is a great aspect to have and you continued to believe in yourself. I don’t think you’re a laib, you’re someone who chose to not follow others in good faith in yourself.

He didn't become successful to show them sh*t, he did it for himself the little boy gangster that no one wants to accept and acknowledge his existence. Oh, if his dad didn't do this or didn't do that; he would have never turned out to be somebody. Everyone always wanna take credit when their child turns out to be somebody. If they don't turn out to be somebody, then he's not my son or never acknowledge their child. This is hmong people way of thinking. If you don't support your kids. You should never take credit or say it's because of you that they became successful. GET REAL!!
His father deserves nothing in return. Look at his father trying to play the father role now. He was never there, he should'nt talk.

Inspiring story. My story is different but I can relate to your story brother. The BOLD and REBELLIOUS are more likely to succeed in life. We are curious, courageous and we’re not afraid. A degree can only take u so far. But a business can take you to a new level. Don’t let your family influence you especially your dad. They’re jealous and want to see u at the bottom of the pit.

I don’t think so. His dad wants to see him succeed! No parent would wish for their kids to hit rock bottom. His dad is old-school thinking. It’s the kids duty to keep the parents updated with modern thinkings n kids don’t always have to agree with what parents say but should correct them!

@@flryprn745 His dad complained about his wife basically wanting him to divorce her. That’s a really bad influence especially from his own father.
