Also, people come to tenant nowadays for their own branding (which is not wrong though). This flat had nothing.

The discrimination against religion caste employment single/married veg no veg is real when it comes to house hunting.
When will we ever accept people for who they are.

Very well said. This discrimination should end. Tenant is tenant no Matter who they are where they come from as long as they can afford to pay the rent in time. Period.

Mumbai is most open minded city, followed by Bengaluru and Pune. Bachelors will find difficult to rent out when they go to specific location where certain communities are v large in numbers for ex. Gharkopar in Mumbai. There are enough cosmopolitan areas in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune where you can rent out easily even after being a bachelor.

Mumbai has nightlife, movie, tv, entertainment and media industry..so bachelors, youngsters have a different working hours and lifestyle than most family oriented societies would want...as a result all bachelors irrespective of their work are frowned upon..its very unfortunate though!

@@DeepakKumar-ve9xjWhat zuggi you’re talking about? Whole Hyderabad is infested with zuggies, congested homes, bad drainage system, bad roads inside colonies and what not. Hyderabad has way too many slum clusters compared to Mumbai. Hyderabad is not vibrant at all like Mumbai, and quite boring. Saying this after living in Hyderabad for quite a good amount of time.

In Mumbai, location matters more than the flat size. Proximity to metro, railway station and employment hubs of Andheri east, seeps, midc etc boost up the rent. Plus wardrobe, modular kitchen etc adds more to your rent and then as bachelors you anyways have less options hence Owners can demand a bit more!

In Mumbai, many societies have rules of no bachelor. Irrespective of your gender , they won't give you the flat. At age of thirty I was asked by the broker that agreement would occur on your parents' name only as I was not married.
