Hate to break the news to that almond grower (9:09). We need more bees more than we need almonds grown in California. And this video just said, growing more bees is becoming more difficult. I say stop growing almonds in California, save some water and plant more bee friendly crops.
The reason beekeepers go to California almond growers is California almond blooms in the middle of winter while other parts of the country are still freezing without any flowers for the bees. They only stay there for few weeks in winters. It’s a good thing for both bees and beekeepers.
Its a pity this piece doesn't focus more on biodiversity loss. Its a well known fact that yield is higher when there is a biodiverse suite of pollinators in a field... Focusing only on the invasive European honeybee, will only make the problem worse. The european honeybees have been known to outcompete wild pollinators on their native plants for floral rewards, which can harm native plants, wild pollinators AND the european honeybee, because now there are less plants to get rewards from. Over relying on the european honeybee and not focusing on wild pollinators won't solve the problem, only when both are tackled will we actually be able to see any real improvement
As a beekeeper in Hawaii this is sad. Bad beekeeping practices of shipping bees to California spreads diseases, mites, and infestations within the colony.
It's not because "people want their almonds". It's because people decide to grow almonds instead of other crops due to subsidies, insurance and overall greed for max profit over the heath of the nation. There are many crops that people want and will buy. It's up to farmers to have some scruples as well so take some responsibility.
The reason so many Farmed bees dies is because there are too many farmed hives in the off season. The reason wild bees are dying is because farmed bees are taking all the pollen in off season. 2.5 million farmed bee colonies devastate local native bee colonies when there are taken to winter grounds. The farmed bees survive with the aid of supplementary feeding but wild bees in the areas die of hunger when they compete for pollen.
With the California drought that ended in 2016, I was really surprised that the California government didn't just shut down the California almond industry and compensate the growers. Along with beef, it's the most water-intensive crop and shouldn't be grown in California in the first place.
As of April 2024, the United States has a record number of 3.8 million honeybee colonies, according to the USDA's 2022 Census of Agriculture. This is an increase of nearly a million colonies in the last five years, making honeybees the fastest-growing livestock segment in the country since 2007. However, some skeptics say that inflation and the definition of a bee colony may skew the data. The census only measures operations that produce at least $1,000 in products annually, so high honey prices could encourage some hobbyists to be counted. Additionally, the annual honey report shows a decline in colonies, while the census shows that the number of operations with bee colonies has increased much faster.
Didn't know this was a secret... What a wonderful thumbnail you have there. Please keep up with the good news and don't go so extreme on clickbait. This channel is interesting enoug on its own. No need to fake it. Very interesting and quality video tho!
To grow the bees properly, we need to maintain the optimum temperature. That is 25-28 degree Celsius. Plus, you know better which plant species are no longer needed or needs to be eradicated to save bees. Please take considerable measures and save the bees.
My theory is, why are bees dying, the answer would be chemical pollution. Another theory is, big corporations want to see the bees destroyed so they can either manufacture their own honey in a lab or import it or both
I don't know why your making it out like honey bees are in danger of dying out. Their numbers have been on the rise for some time. It's the wild bees that we should really worry about. They are far more efficient than honey bees. Often only taking 100's to do the work of tens of thousands of honey bees.
It's insane. In that area to create almonds, no bees, no water, mono cultures, etc..., just the money seems to be the one thing they want, care less about the rest. Fools will always run after money than social concerns. When no bees are left, boom.
as a person living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates who loves almonds in daily drinks in milks and shakes and etc I cant just abandon almonds but its a sad thing that millions of bees die to make for me my favorite almonds that I love in California!!!! the whole world has 1 and 1 only source for almond which is obviously California in US but its very sad that over 195 countries and nations demands are responsible for death of millions and billions of those innocent little things and US government well obviously classify it as live stock bcuz they dont want to loose out trade worth of 100s of billions of dollars and specially if anything effected that trade and business of almonds in California so people like me well not receive it so its a massive loose for 1 of the largest states in the U.S and 100s of billions of dollars are on the stake so no one in Washington wants to touch that bcuz in case of loose Washington wont be able to repay all that huge and massive business. no one can repay such huge money back. so for them its better to not touch.
Not really. There are species of plants whose flowers release pollen in the air and don't need pollinators, but for those that pollinators needed, you will more likely to just rip off flowers with wind, then to pollinate them.
I command in Jesus's name to all the evil spirits of poverty and lack, get out right now of me and be thrown into the sea never to return back, Amen 🙏. I speak good high paid job offer for me in Jesus's name, Amen 🙏. Thank you Jesus for making me live like a king.

Amen!
BIODIVERSITY needs to be maintained. Monocrops are the problem. 👎
Monobees are also a problem. Honeybees are surprisingly inefficient compared to specialised wild bees and other polinators
the bees have been dying for a while now, well over 10 years
I really like that AJ asks the workers and not the "experts"
@Thomas B facts
This should be a crime against the ecosystem and humanity.

You’re 100% correct
Plant native wildflowers. Bees love them. Help increase the bee population. We all should do our part.
As a beekeeper in Hawaii this is sad. Bad beekeeping practices of shipping bees to California spreads diseases, mites, and infestations within the colony.
We are starting to feel the negative side effect in decline of a specie.
I live in the Central Valley (Turlock,Ca) and I loveeee being part of something so special!!! We love the bee’s on our property. 🐝❤️
Be nice and save the bees
No bees no world as simple as that.

No mention of the aluminum?
Hmmm.... maybe take it easy on the almonds?🤷🏾♂️

Or maybe don’t grow something that needs this much water in California, which is susceptible to drought.

Force gates to sell his farm land and end his evil agendas
The bees are MAINLY dying because of LOUD EXHAUST SYSTEMS. The high decibels are too loud for the bees and are distributing their nervous system.

Uhhhhh... 0:41
How is that anything but accurate?
P.S. this isn’t good news

To Bee or not to Bee

This is so cute this old farmer talking about 8 weeks being long from home
Omg is that why all summer out here (in cali near LA) I hae literally only seen 1 bee in the backyard! Yet there is countless amount of wasps.
Unfortunate

I am a big fan of aj+.. because they work for ecology.. But this channel have few views
i haven’t seen a bee in a long time
Where do you live?
Go outside yo!
i wonder if they can pollinate these orchards with giant fans since all the trees are so packed
Not really. There are species of plants whose flowers release pollen in the air and don't need pollinators, but for those that pollinators needed, you will more likely to just rip off flowers with wind, then to pollinate them.
@@minskghoul They can polinate them with pollen thats mixed with soap bubbles and spread by drones.
This reminds me of Goliath season 3 on Amazone. I never knew Alomonds farms use so mush water.
Honey industry and monoculture is the problem
Dying from round up chimacals on yards disel fuel from def they use in fuel
Well transporting these poor bees all over no wonder they die out... :|
I have 2 hives at home.
Keep bees if you can.
BOBBY OPEN THE DOOR THE BEES ARE COMING

F*** almonds... who needs em?
Woh 😮
Almonds are the most destructive crops for California
Why is this video full of lies
So vegans are you still saving the planet with your almond/avocado eating habits?
One percent of the world is vegan... Do you really think the rest of the world don't eat almonds and avocado's?! Do your research.
People will be regretting and blaming themselves in few weeks if they miss the opportunity to buy and invest in Cryptocurrency.
