Beautiful home, but I heard that the Gorgas were over a million dollars in debt. I would much rather have a home that I could afford and sleep comfortably in knowing that I wouldn't lose it.
I just laughed so hard. Go read famewhorgas blog about how awful Joe and his wife are. He made his parents lose their home and chose a ho for a housewife.
The decoration looks fancy. But the fengshui of the house is not so good. As soon as you open the door you see the stairs. It’s the worst fengshui in our Chinese people eyes. The windows,door shape also bad too.

I don't get why people are complaining about her white sofa set. Some people have well behaved kids who eat on the dinner table and wash their hands after dinner. And kids who are raised in homes with decorated walls and tables are used to it. They don't walk around and break everything! It's called discipline!

I had white sofas from IKEA when my kids were growing up. You teach them some basic manners, have a rule to always eat at the table together and all is well.
@Wisewoe Tiswell In a big home children have more than enough space to do what ever they want. They don't need to claim every inch of the house. Parents have rights too. It's their house.
I volunteered for a cat and kitten rescue. The woman who ran "the show" LOVED cats but did not have any in her home. She has a heart of gold and would sacrifice her life for animals. All her furniture was WHITE and she didn't want the cats to get hair on the chairs! I asked her, "isn't that why they call is fur-niture?"
Bottom line to all the haters...even though something may not be your taste you can still admire it for its beauty, craftsmanship and architectural detail... Both the home and Melissa are gorgeous !
There are so many details that you can't even focus on one. There's entirely too much going on in every room.

angel da vinci bitch please I grew up in a million dollar home. Thank god my mother had class and style. She adds to many things from different cultures and time periods to where it looks like a sloppy painting! Stick with one or two themes and stay that way.

Did you see the episode on RHONJ where the potential buyers came to do a walk through in the home? The lady tried to turn on a faucet in the bathroom and it was fake! The handle broke off, and the front of the sink was chipboard or some fake material. Every time she touched something in that bathroom, it literally broke. She asked them why the sink was fake and they told her, “ah, it won’t cost anything to replace that.” She also asked why there was no pool since they were asking over 3million for a home in a dead neighborhood that no one wants to live in. Their response, “it don’t need a pool to sell for 3 million.” Fast forward less than a year later... they now have that pool. Lol That house was thrown together with piss poor materials, in hopes to quickly offload it onto some sucker to turn a quick hefty profit. Now they’re stuck with it. Especially after one buyer giving the home back to them, and the other couple pointing out the lack of quality on the show. No one wants it now that they’ve seen what a money pit it would be. Notice the closeup of the paint job in the dining room when Melissa claims everyone wants that color. It is not a crisp clean professional paint job. It was a mess!
I normaly don‘t comment, but this is the perfect example of „Nouveau riche“ and that Money do not buy taste.

Exactly. There's nothing homey or nostalgic about that house. I couldn't imagine raising my kids in a house like that. How could they feel free and be playful and make a mess in a house like that. I feel like their wouldn't be many memories created in a home that you have to tip toe around and not touch or sit on furniture..........it must be boring living in a museum type of environment. But everyones different i guess!!!

Their home is beautiful and they designed it just the way they wanted it. Good on them for not allowing the kids in their adult entertaining room and sitting on the sofas. Kids dont even realise theyve got dirty hands or dirty shoes half the time, and this teaches them to be more conscious and respectful. I love their house, cudos to them for building their dream home
I used to hate all white houses or spaces that looked like nobody lived there, but as I get older I’m starting to appreciate having an empty space that isn’t so busy. It’s a nice place to unwind after a long day. Beautiful home

The architecture design is breath-taking, simply impeccable!!! The interior is giving museum life for me, not feeling a whole lot of warmth. To each is their own, so you're owning up to yours with style and grace. I enjoyed watching this for sure. ❤🤗❤

Love, Love, Love! Melissa's house is exactly like her - very classy! I love everything about it. The colors in her house are gorgeous. I have had my eye on a "closet" jewelry chest like hers, but unfortunately that isn't in my budget. I love how she and Joe are so happy. Bless you, Melissa! Your heart is always in the right place. All jealous people insulting her and saying bad things about the house xD, I personally LOVE IT, it's antique style people, it's not all Ikea generic stuff and minimalism decor, there are other types of decoration, and this house particuly made it legit, everything is perfect, THE STAIRS ARE THE BEST STAIRS I'VE EVER SEEN! and the antique mirrors are unique and fascinating too, and to hard to find too! RELICS!

I'll just say this as well; Bigger homes, fancy cars and designer clothes will NEVER fill that void in your heart, no matter how hard you try. The only thing that will are your relationships with family and friends. Many a celebrity have thrown millions upon millions to fill it, only to end up dead, heart broken, alcoholic or a drug addict. Treat the people NICE in your life and you will find it the MOST comforting thing in life itself.

lexip396able a lot of celebrity homes are like this; like u said it looks nice, but it feels way to much like a model house for me; it’s like one of those situations where u wearing a nice expensive outfit and u don’t want no one touching u or u don’t want to sit down or mess it up, wrinkle it, so much so that it just uncomfortable like u said; it’s the same with this house, if I had something like this I wouldn’t hardly want any one sitting on my expensive furniture or even kids around messing up things 😂 same rules applies to me also, can’t enjoy it.

Museum looking to me. It's beautifully decorated but like Melissa mentioned about her children, they can come in but no sitting on the furniture. Fuck that. The kids need and I'm surely have their own living spaces. Still it's too glamorous for 3 small children.....museum everywhere...

Honestly the house is beautifully architected. Lots of Roman-theme not everyone's type of styled home but for the right owner it is stunning. I love your great room, as well as the outdoor area. Great job to Melissa for designing, but Joe amazing work on the build.

This home is absoutly perfect. Defintly my dream home. Love the white and silver and gold combonation makes things stand out and look very glamorous and royal. What are the air conditioning bills like in the summer? Echo in foyer...that's nice. Shows the man is striving. He must have to double the hustle if she ever starts talking chandelier again.
I couldn't imagine living in a home like this. I know they've worked hard for their money so more power to them. I've always had a MIND struggle with stuff like this bc I genuinely feel like things like this is such a waste. While I understand people can do as they please with their money.. I also feel like they literally could've given an entire country clean water with just *some* of the furniture in that home. I always think about my children and how the mothers must feel in countries like that so helpless and can't even provide clean water. Even me.. While I live comfortable bc we work so hard.. It's nothing like this. I even give as much as I can to the homeless vets in my city and fundraisers. But hey I'm not hating on her.. I'm sure it's wonderful to live this way and she has probably given a lot to others herself. Just thinking even the drapes in that house could buy a homeless person a home to live in. Americans would be *SHOCKED* to know how many thousands of vets from our military walk to streets of my city (ft Bragg)

That's not a home, it's a museum. It's too beige and too over-the-top. It looks too generic and no personal touches. It does not look like anyone lives there. Cold and empty and lifeless. I would never live in a house like that and even if I had all the money in the world, I would still live in a small and modest home and donate money to charities for good cause. It's just my personal opinion, but no one can ever fully enjoy a home that large. It would be exhausting just to walk from the bedroom to the kitchen! LOL

It does seem a little cold, probably because everything is mostly white. I do like a house with more charm and warmth to it. I like that it has a lot of natural light though. You're wrong about the house being too big though, especially when you have a big family. Trust me space is never enough. We live in a big town home and once we moved in and moved in all our stuff, it quickly became smaller. I love big houses.

it's a very beautiful and luxurious home, but I have never understood how anyone can live in a house that big either. I know married couples who live in these very large homes with either one or two children, and they have an 8 to 10 bedroom home with a tv and bathroom in every single room, but they only use three bedrooms, and the rest are just left for show or decoration. I think to myself what a waste of money and space.

I love the unusual shape of the house from the outside, one thing I never understand about these "glam" celebrities all white sofa and decor themes with a young family how does it ever feel homely or lived in? It's beautiful to look at but it isn't a home it's staged for a magazine theres no way you could relax with the kids home with their mucky finger prints all over the place as their learning to crawl then walk and so on, can't imagine a friendship between Shannon and Jeff I thought she'd be way too sensitive to ever be in his company!
Σάρα Ιωάννης im sure they have a family room that everyone can use. My mom had an off white living room that nobody was allowed to go into too lol. I think a lot of parents do that. It’s nice to have a space for the adults.
