    Ahhh, just like stories from my youth. Back in 1984, learning about all these amazing ribbon mics. Most of them were already “old” back then. But NOW? It’s simply amazing that any of them still even exist!

    The Beyerdynamic m130 is a great double ribbon mic for m/s recording with another cardioid

    Former Showplace employee here… seeing Eric Clapton enter the studio via the Strip club entrance is a moment I will never forget.

    I have only done one substantial mic investment, the R88 and the TRP1. The bass is insane, and it keeps the drum tuning honest. No going back.

    didn't Forssell design the AEA ribbon pre? I unfortunately only have one but his SMP500 is probably the finest mic amp I've ever used - and I shot it out against a Gordon Model 5 that the guy I bought it from had, running a pristine KMi84 recording a Lester DeVoe acoustic.
