I've loved this song since I first heard it on one of Amy's albums. This is a fantastic version. Amy sounds great, of course, and the new tempo moves the song along, and Luther brings a really sweet and unobtrusive accompaniment that keeps everything tied together nicely. It sounds great.
Up the Voice a bit as to Volume. [Only trying to help. You have something here] The clarity of the Words/the Song is important. Many Bands/Groups allow the voice to be secondary/ -the words should be supported by the Music. Not the Music Instruments over bearing the Voice. Both are important, the lyrics and the Band instruments, but it is nice to have clarity and volume for the Lyrics over the background instruments. I repeat, only trying to help your music. Clarity as to sound is a 10 out of 10. Almost there, as to putting Voice as number 1..
As a general policy, I agree with Ds Ck the lyrics and voice are paramount in any vocal arrangement, even with great accompaniment such as here. But here the accompaniment was not obtrusive to my ears. Nice job all.
Love this.Great sound and great vocals by Amy LaVere.
