      I have both the a1701 and a1709. The difference I noticed was the a1701 came without WiFi and the a1709 came with a WiFi hotspot . They are the same generation size and model, but one has WiFi and one doesn’t.

    It appears to me as though the newer apple devices seem to have really strong adhesive compared to the older versions. I was about to buy a new battery for my moms iPad Pro but after watching this I’m a little concerned about how tedious and time consuming it’s going to be as well as needing to invest in a heat mat like the one in the video 😬 Just wondering will a heat gun work well or is it worth buying the heat mat or even taking it to a repair place to do it? What would be the best option?

    • @kb_analytics
      @kb_analytics 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I imagine this can be done with a heat gun but suuuuuper risky. I think he even broke the lcd using the heat plate so I don’t know.

    By far the most difficult battery change I did in my life. Stickers are EXTREMELY hard to remove, and I had to put so much isopropyl alcohol that it drowned and destroyed two loudspeakers :((
    Apple fee for doing the job is really worth it! especially considering the high risk...

    • @kim_yong_un
      @kim_yong_un 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hell no, apple fee for this is ridiculous.
      Paying €1200 for an 128gb ipad, so it’s battery won’t even last 5 years.. then pay €500 for a battery replacement? Meanwhile my sons ipad 2 is faster and has better battery. They’re obviously pushing to have us pay more and more by making their devices crappier quality every release, plus these expensive repair costs. My 4g iphone 7 and XR, ipad pro 12.9” 2016 are faster than my iphone 12 mini with 5g. I’m so done with apple.

    Please note that this is not at Gen 2 iPad Pro. It looks very different on the inside. The video is also on high speed so that a lot of what he does is too fast to see in motion. You can play it frame by frame but it is not helpful.

    • @FIXDPHONES
      @FIXDPHONES  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Paul Castellanos why would you assume this is a Gen 2 iPad Pro, it clearly shows it’s a iPad Pro 10.5 (a1709 which you can see at the beginning of the video) and the point of the repair is to give those who have experience working on devices a good idea of how to do the repair.
