TWO GIANT Rattlesnakes at a Cops Front Door!

  • Two Giant Rattlesnakes at a Cops house! It's been a crazy rattlesnake season, with more and more HUGE Rattlesnakes showing up. As development runs across South Florida, more species like Big Rattlesnakes are being displaced and turning up areas they unfortunately shouldn't be. We get called from all around South Florida to catch and relocate venomous snakes from situations where they may pose a threat to people or pets, and it is often unsafe for the snakes themselves to live around human habitation. Rattlesnakes while they can be scary if you're unfamiliar with them are NOT aggressive, they do not seek out humans, they are shy and reclusive and often live in areas near people for a long time without anyone ever knowing. They are also an important part of our ecosystems down here in South Florida so it is important to keep what ecosystems we have left, intact and functioning, especially the everglades. If you have any questions drop them below.

    A couple of nice EDBs, That is a good size female. Can tell she's good at catching a meal. They both were so calm , probably because the way you handle them, a little grumpy in the end but not much.

    The Army provides their troops ready to eat meals....this big gal has an already eaten meal in her tummy to face her new environment. I believe Rhett's trying to play nice for the little kiddies, but I sadly suspect someone's missing a pet cat and not a reduction in the wild bunny population. I hope I'm wrong but as I recall, suddenly missing pet cats generally means something is preying upon them and generally a nonnative python is the culprit! You guys are super professional and even kind to nervous humans and snakes and are definitely positive ambassadors to your great cause. Unfortunately, this is only one battle won and the nonstop encroachment of ever developing Florida is the war that creates these situations with native animals that not always ends so happily. Keep up the cause, R, T &T! Jim C.

    Now that female EDB was really impressing. I'm only wondering if EDB's do not regurgitate when you catch them and they've been eaten something not too long ago? I've subscribed to a lot different channels of snake rescuers but I've seen it so often that the snake immediately starts to regurgitat its food as soon as the snake is handled by the rescuer and notices that it can not escape. I had even some pet snakes in my collection that didn't like it when they've been disturbed after they've freshly eaten, and regurgitated their food if the disturbance was too much for their comfort.

    how common is it to have this happen? Im from Jersey and we are thinking of moving down to Florida but Im not really excited about the possibility of seeing that in my grass.

    • @TobiesTroop
      @TobiesTroop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people in Florida will never see a rattlesnake, even within these communities we get called to most the residents there will never see one. If you border habitat its more likely but still very uncommon, we catch so many because we have a huge network of people we are connected to.. just live within a City or town and it's nothing to ever worry about. That also being said we've never had a call bc someone was bitten by a snake they saw, it happens but very rarely with the bigger rattlesnakes.

    • @samathadillard7591
      @samathadillard7591 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TobiesTroop oh okay..I like habitat..... so likely but it's uncommon and all the ones that were reported none were bites....okay thats not terrible....all you need to say now is no calls were anyone suffocated to death by those large pythons and that will be another check

    Growing up my family had a big ranch in West Texas near Langtry, Texas. In that part of the state there is no neighborhoods or houses. Well, there are very few people come to think about it. But there are very large populations of snakes. I have seen rattlesnakes out there that are 9 to 10 feet long easy. I mean these snakes are HUGE out there. They will always sit on dirt roads in the open sunbathing. Although you generally see them in that situation when you are driving and it's too late by then. You can figure out why. 🫣🤫
